With Persona 5 being the latest GotM I'll liking putting this game on the back burner... for some time so here's my last notes before I went on holiday:

Just more of the side quests. Dealing with thirsty atm but also got the loot in the road end. Level 44

Finished thirstys quests and the kill the prisoners quest. Finished the third round of the arena. Level 44

So did the last repeat of the final level and now just got one round left in the arena. Might try the raid boss as well. Level 44

Right back to Borderlands and finished the 3rd DLC already. The General Knoxx one. I only had one round left to do in the arena anyway decided to skip the raid boss mainly due to distance away. This is currently my fav DLC of borderlands and it gets the notes of what a borderlands game is with a great villian for the whole DLC playing a rather exasperated business man like character. It also gave me half life 2 coast level vibes with the use of the buggie to get around. It's biggest issue though was the constant back tracking which was the worst in this DLC.

I was also able to start the fourth and final DLC the claptrap revolution. Not far in just basically been contacted by hyperion to deal with the issue. Not a great start tbh as it throws you into a junkyard with a ton of bandits so rather dull level there.

So bit further in the claptrap revolution

Switched on the power plant now off to destroy the claptrap factory

So this dlc has the same issues as Dr ned. Too dark and very grindy side quests

01/26/2023 at 10:06 PM
So destroyed the claptrap factory and received the WIRED. Will need to activate it now

Lot of the side quests make you go back to areas you've already done. Can't see why these side missions couldn't be done during the main quest but they don't pop until after that area has been done in the main quest

and that's borderlands now completed. The robot revolution was very similar imo to Doctor ned. Both had the same issue with an annoying side quests which wastes your time. Ultimately I can see why borderlands got popular but borderlands defiently has not aged well

Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC
Completion January 24, 2023
Main+Extras 12h 2m 53s
Notes Everything excluding raid boss
Review
General Knoxx is defiantly the best DLC of the borderlands. It feels like a homage to the coast line level in Half life 2 where the buggy has a big part of the level being used to get between the areas and it works extremly well. It is also helped by General Knoxx being a stand out villain as playing more of a jaded buisness man sick and tired of the incomptence of the company and the nepotism throughout. The DLC however has some big issues as it relies far too much on backtracking and the side quests are extremely lacklustre in what it wants you to do.

Borderlands: Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution
Completion January 27, 2023
Main+Extras 5h 4m 36s
Notes All quests excluding the claptrap parts
Review
Claptrap DLC is very similar to Doctor Ned’s. It gets the humour relatively well but overall the DLC feels rather lacklustre with some rather dull side quests involving collecting large amount of items dropped by the claptraps (at least this is picked up early in the DLC) and dark areas which makes it hard to see the enemies as they much into the rather brown backdrops. It has some interesting bosses but also does repeat other DLC bosses.

I could never get into this series, too much grinding just to tackle the main quests. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has some pretty good weapon feedback but the previously mentioned issues prevents me from enjoying it. The game has an easy mode but it's pretty much a red herring since you will still need to grind anyway.

So picked up Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with my mate. Only an hour so far but hopefully will have a few sessions in the coming weeks. This is gonna be a slow burn and will likely take me most of the year.

So started the game and chose Nisha (mate chose the Baroness) Reached the moon and got the oxygen kit. Off to kill Deadlift now

Not much to say atm just the tutorial area. Yeah feels like a borderlands game. Characters now talk during the sotry but seems to be based on who initated. Prob best to mix it up who talks. Will see where this goes overall

Shut down the signal for the main area and found out the meriff was working with enemy

So playing through this don't really have much to add it's a borderlands game and not the most interesting. So prefer 2 but prefer this over 1. Will see how far my opinion changes later. Mate thinks this is the worst of the ones he's played

Just reached the AI in the ship and killed the boss (bit of cheat tbh). Now theres a flood of quests marked in alreasdy been locations.

Games starting to get a lot back tracky which borderlands 2 was very good at prevent. Theres alot of niggles in this game which is really holding it back unfortunately but ultimately not much really in the way of interesting takes. Just borderlands really
25/05/2025 23:00
Just did a few side quests. Alot oif side quests seem to be gfiven after youve done the area and thus involves alot of backtracking. Not sure I like that
01/06/2025 23:26
Completed the robot factory. Now reached the Hyperion station and freed the 3 scientists. Gone back to do the two side quest and now trying to get into it sub 13

Got through sub 13 basically a ghostbuster parody. More side quests on the hyperion space station
06/07/2025 22:46
Went and was able to beat the commander and destroy the laser one last quest now

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
20/07/2025 22:25
Went into the vault... More side quests though
27/07/2025 22:33
Finished the main quest now. Think it's just the dlc now and the raid boss.

...so yeah pre sequel is not great. It really overuses backtracking basically doing the main quest in the area and then the next side quest makes you go back to the same area. I did like the new voices and handsome jack is still great but in the end none of the characters really matter (with 2 killed in the main quest for borderlands 2) and the loot not being great... At least for my room. Ultimately this was a filler game

Yeah that seems to be the common opinion about pre-sequel, sort of a let down. Only reason I stuck around with it was Handsome Jack.
But the DLC was pretty darn good so you'll enjoy that one more than the main game

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! - Claptastic Voyage

24/09/2025 23:17
So have come back to do the DLC solo:

Reached the item and downloaded the first half. But it got sent to quarantine. Now just got to open quarantine

Not much different from the base tbh. Can't say iot's anything special just filler really
26/09/2025 02:08
...well I feel asleep playing today. Did a few side missions basically
26/09/2025 23:02
Looks like I've reached the final boss. Just gotta get back to it. Should hopefully be done by tomorrow
27/09/2025 22:06
and that's the DLC done. A rather mediocre filler DLC for a mediocre filler game

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
Completion September 24th, 2025
Main+Extras (includes DLC) 27h 7m 32s
Notes Mostly Co-Op. DLC played solo
Co-Op 19h 56m 37s
Review
Borderlands the Pre Sequel is a filler game meant to fill in between 2 and 3. It offers little substance and is far to reliant on backtracking for it’s sub quests. It still makes use of the borderlands formula and continues to have fun with the formula but it cannot get around the fact that it is not fully irrelevant to the whole borderlands series and can easily be skipped

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! - Claptastic Voyage
Completion September 27th, 2025
Main+Extras 7h 10m 55s

Claptastic Voyage is a simple continuation of the pre-sequel it offers nothing new and has the same issues as the base game with too much backtracking and an irrelevant story for the whole of the borderlands series. A filler DLC for a filler gameplay
