Been rewatching Fate Zero lately and I remembered it being good and it still is and then some. Rider might still be one of my favorite anime characters ever. I also appreciate other characters besides Rider, Kiritsugu and Kirei. Lancer, Waver, Iris, and Gilgamesh I appreciate more now. However Saber to this day I'm still not sold on. It's one thing to preach idealistic crap but it's another thing to preach that and hiding the fact that even back when you were "practicing" it, you were lying to others. If Saber was a guy, this would be easier to buy since then the lying aspect is removed and I can believe the idealism she spouts, at least it has a higher chance of winning me over.

I also don't really like Caster. He's too one note to be a well rounded character considering all he wants to do *things* to Saber because she resembles someone else. I can take shots at him for being a yandere alone but that would be weak criticism.

Don't like using the "edgy" criticism but the Fate series can push my tolerance for this stuff. Like like a big room with nothing but worms in a mansion or some weird scientist experimenting on people turning them into vampires. Some of the edge can enchance some moments like when Waver looks at the disgusting corpses and Rider tells him not to look because of how horrified he is.

"Noble Phantasm" is also the mosy overly elaborate way to say, "special move" or "special weapon" I have ever heard. It's so needlessly complicated and pointless that it makes me laugh

Tokiomi is interesting in the sense this is one of the few stories I know of or remember where a character is so by the book and dull that the story calls him out for it.

The music is pretty good and the action is well made too. It was a popular series back when it came out but it has waned in recent times. I can say this is a "popular anime" where I think about it, and I don't groan or get annoyed by the mere mention or thought of it.
