HELLSINKERhttp://localhost:8000/feed.atom2014-03-25T00:00:00ZPyAtomThe Dominix and the Devoterhttp://localhost:8000/post/232014-03-25T00:00:00Zraylu
"Do you want to kill a hole-rolling Dominix?" my corpmate asks?
Do I ever. I sign on and ask him if he has eyes on it.
"I scanned down the wormhole he was rolling and I'm reshipping now, so no."

That's no problem, of course. We ship up and warp a cloaky each to the hole.
Instead of a Dominix, we see a Gallente Battleship Wreck.
The plot thickens.

A quick check of the killboards reveals that, before we had signed on,
A large group ganked the Dominixes
that we thought were rolling the C2 wormhole but were actually just trying to get back.

Later, they actually do try to roll it and make it critical.
They send a Devoter with 4 bubbles through.
In a stroke of great/terrible luck, it collapses, trapping the Devoter with me.
He drops probes and cloaks up, so I wait for him on the C1.

After I kill him, he sends both of my characters mail:

Твинкованая тупорылая ебота

From: KEVing Godless
To: raylu C, raylu D

Прыщи иди дави, хуесос недоделанный.

Google Translate doesn't do so well on this, so I ask my Russian-American friend.

> this is pretty fancy
> o wait
> I'm starting to get this
> the body is "go squeeze pimples, unfinished cocksucker"
> I have no idea about the subject

The next day

I get another mail on one of my characters:

Тупая хуйня не молчи

From: KEVing Godless
To: raylu C

Хуй то выплюни изо рта, уебок

Google Translate fares somewhat better and at least gives us the gist of it:

Dull garbage do not be silent

Dick then spit from the mouth, motherfucker

Final score: Russian tears have a much longer preparation time but you can
have the leftovers the next day. 10/10, would kill again.

I noticed the mail when I signed on to scan our home system.
There was a wormhole to TRKN-L, a ratting system for Circle-Of-Two.
What follows is a very short story:

[19:38:19] EVE System > raylu D is now in proximity of the Encounter Surveilance System
[19:39:49] EVE System > Myzzrael is now in proximity of the Encounter Surveilance System

Boing
(that's the sound a Harbinger makes when it bounces off an LCO while trying to warp).

Later, more mail:

Final score: ESS are great for content creation. 9/10.

The Gankhttp://localhost:8000/post/222014-02-20T00:00:00Zraylu
2 days ago

We ran a really amateur gate camp in Old Man Star.
Halfway through we decide we need more remote sensor boosters.

Turns out we're really bad at this thing.
We start to pack it up, so we need to deagress and decide to not touch anything that isn't shiny flying through.
A venture autopilots to the gate.

A Helios jumps into our C5, scans down a null and jumps through it.
We prepare a Sabre and wait for him to jump back.
He does so we pop him.
Yes, that's 73 probes - enough to buy another Sister's launcher.

He comes back a few minutes later in an Ishtar and slowboats away from the hole.
I warp a Zealot in and try to shut off his microwarpdrive with my Helios, but he neuts it out.
He pulls my Zealot farther and farther from his hole.
His friends show up and kill me.

They speak up in local.
Normally, you'd expect the tears/rage earlier and the smack now, but these guys are non-conformists.

Cronetamer > so guys are rdy to gank, just gank? epic pvp
Cronetamer > cowards
Cronetamer > mother fucukers
Cronetamer > go apply in is is coming to eve

They're French, by the way.
What I didn't realize was that being French made you immune to irony.

Today

We open up into a C1 which connects 1 from Jita.
There's a new Heron in the system every 3 minutes.
Sometimes it's even the same Heron.
Some dumb stuff comes through.

After ganking some other stuff
connected to that highsec, we collapse the C1.
In the new C1, we see a Tengu and wrecks.
He leaves through a different C5 and comes back in a Venture.
We realize he was clearing the gas site sleepers.

A plan is formed.
I get in my bait Venture.

The plan is adjusted.
I get in my gas harvesting Venture with no warp scrambler/disruptor.

We combat probe him down, causing him to speak up in local.

Pasha Sedov > отсос
Pasha Sedov > хер возьмёш =))ъ\

Google Translate says this means "suction, take dick".
I leave it as an exercise to the reader to unravel the true meaning of this banter.
He warps back home.

We proceed anyway with the plan.
I warp my little Venture to his gas site and begin gas harvesting.
A few minutes later, he brings his Venture back.
I deploy my two light drones and engage him, still with no warp scrambler/disruptor.
He warps off.

He goes back to his POS in his home C5 and reships to the Tengu.
He warps his Venture-killing beast to the C1 wormhole but is polarized.
Realizing this, he goes off to a safe.
He comes back, jumps through, and the rest is history.

Hotdrop Dysfunctionhttp://localhost:8000/post/202014-01-01T00:00:00Zraylu
Happy <s>New Year</s> hot drop o'clock!

So I jump through our direct-to-nullsec wormhole into T-K10W in a ratting Talos.
Safely next door to RAZOR's carrier staging system, I start shooting belt rats.

An Arazu and a Vagabond, on their way back from hunting, show up on d-scan, and then on grid.

Martek Renalard > hello
Martek Renalard > minning op carry on

A Megathron Navy Issue also warps in.
I die.

I get my pod out and back into our wormhole.
Luckily for us the Arazu has probes and finds our wormhole.
He jumps in, and then back out.
This causes him to be polarized and causes all of us to follow him.

When we jump out into T-K10W, the Vagabond is also there but the Mega Navy isn't.
They die.
The Mega Navy then lands on the hole at 0 and lights a Cyno.
As 3 Archons, a Thanatos, and a Chimera jump in, we jump out.

Our brave Blackbird pilot stays in system and warps around while d-scanning.
He picks up a Caracal, then jumps back home.

raylu D > how'd the mining op go?
Richter Etrenank > haha that was fun
Richter Etrenank > our arazau had no fuel in it when he went to hotdrop, so it was a bunch of fail on our part. Well played

[snip]

raylu D > why didn't the mega warp to the WH at 50 or 70?
Richter Etrenank > because everyone was in a tizzy
Richter Etrenank > when the cyno failed it messed up all our plans

[snip]

raylu D > how'd the caracal get in?
Richter Etrenank > jumped in from V-L
Richter Etrenank > and warped to us
raylu D > ahh
Richter Etrenank > our capital stage was next door
raylu D > well, at least you recovered the shinies off the arazu
raylu D > which we failed to loot
Richter Etrenank > yeah
Richter Etrenank > wookie says thanks for that btw lol
Richter Etrenank > he thought it was a sense of honor from ya'll or something

I didn't even want honor!
I just wanted shinies.

Dark Blood Capital Liberationhttp://localhost:8000/post/192013-12-04T00:00:00Zraylu
Let's start with the end:

Preface

In preparation for Rubicon's fix
for the bug-feature
that caused SMAs to not drop loot, we left two anchors in two wormholes.
One was a C3 with a faction tower, 4 capitals sitting in the shields,
and a 12-man corp that almost never signed on.
The other was a C2 with a ton of SMAs and CHAs and no defenses.

It's a lot of work to take out a tower when you can't fit dreadnoughts in,
but Rubicon also introduces the bastion module which gives you the same e-war immunity...

Anyway, we "slip" an Orca into the C3
(OK, they never sign on so we pretty much just waltzed right in).

In which many stealth bombers are lost

We started removing the magnetometric (Gallente) jammers using stealth bombers.
We would decloak, fire, and recloak before the guns locked us.
We lost 14 stealth bombers to either piloting error or... something else.
Here's three of them.

Whatever.
Death to all stealth bombers.

C2 interulde

Meanwhile, our C2 anchor reports that the tower is reinforced,
a T3 fleet is on d-scan,
and he nearly got decloaked by the bubbles and cans on the tower.

A Hyperion logged in and faceplanted into the bubbles.

In which many shoes are gained

Having removed the magnetometric jammers, we prepare to move some <s>shoes</s> Dominixes into the C3.
There is a C2 attached to it and a great highsec, so we plan to get in through there.
Stats show NPC kills in the C2 in the last hour.
D-scan shows a Noctis.
Our killboard shows the same Noctis.

We nail down our exact fits and move the Dominxes to the highsec.
Suddenly, we see Drakes and a Tengu on scan from the same corp that lost the Noctis.
They jump into the C3, then head to a planet where they
shoot some Acolyte I's at each other and then repair each other up.
They then head into a site.

After killing some of them,
we're undecided as to whether they're being multiboxed.
Why would a multiboxer have such inconsistent fits?
Why is one Drake using Scourge and Acolytes and another using Mjolnir and Hobgoblins?

One of the Drakes warps to the C2.
Our Blackbird is there but has no point.
We follow and manage to grab it.

As we kill it, a third party shows up and nearly gets us.
Most of us manage to get out, but our Blackbird didn't warp straight to the highsec wormhole.
They sit an Onyx on that hole and put some of their fleet on the C3.
Combat probes go out and our Blackbird is forced to warp around and wait out his logoff timer.
As he safely logs out, he sees a ship land on grid with him but doesn't get pointed.

They eventually go away and we're able to bring in our choo-shoe train.

We stick them through the various other wormholes in the C3 and collapse them.
One of the owners of the POS signs on in a scanning ship,
but doesn't seem to notice the incapacitated ECM modules.

He signs back off.

We warp to the POS and try tanking the faction guns, but it's too much.
More people sign on and we get more Dominixes, a Damnation, a Vargur, and a Golem.
We defang the POS.

With that out of the way, we switch to Oracles
(we deal with the radar ECM by ejecting a bunch of shuttles).

In which we lose the Orca

Allow me to paint you a picture.
We're shooting this POS in some Oracles.

Some of my alliancemates live in dumb timezones and suffer from
this problem where they pass out every night for 5-8 hours.
So after they go and prepare for unconciousness, we're down to 5 people.
No problem; the 5 of us can handle a nice, quiet Oracle bash.

We notice a new signature on scan.
Further investiagtion reveals it to be a wormhole to a C6 with a C3 static.
Seeing nothing but a scanning frigate pass through, we shove some battleships through it and back.
With it reduced, we stick the Orca through.

It doesn't come back.

As you pass through the wormhole you realize that it collapses behind you.
Have you become trapped?

Nah, we're not trapped.
We have a scanning ship with the Orca and the Orca itself has a cloak and probes.
Everything was OK for the first 5 seconds before the Proteus decloaked.

Our Orca warps to the sun before the Proteus' decloak retargeting delay wears off.
The Proteus follows, but lands 60km away.
This time, he's uncloaked and with his bonused point the Orca doesn't have time to get away.
Our Orca pilot cloaks up and slowboats away.
The Proteus approaches...

And gets within 5km of the Orca, but it stays cloaked.
Our Orca pilot goes and takes a breather.
It's a little over an hour before downtime.
He needs to stay logged in until downtime, at which point he will be in marginally less danger.
He continues slowboating away from the Proteus.

The phrase "a cloaked Orca moves 60 kilometers an hour" is heard on comms.
I have to do a triple-take.
I really wish I had been recording during this, but hole-closing is rather dull
and I didn't have the presence of mind to record once it got interesting because I was too stunned.

15 seconds before downtime, our Orca aligns to a safe set up by our scanning ship
and decloaks 100km from the Proteus, the Proteus's friends, and his friends' bubble.
The Proteus rushes for the Orca.
Our Orca enters warp as the servers go down.

With that out of the way, we sign back on after downtime and reinforce the tower.
Also, we draw some circles.

In which a single shoe is lost

The next day, we sign on about 30 minutes before the tower exits reinforced.
5 wormholes have opened up into the C3.
Also, someone blew up all the shuttles.

One of the wormholes opens into lowsec and brought in
D3NSE in a couple Ishtars.
One of the POS owners signs in.
He dies and we fail to catch the Ishtar.

The POS has come out of reinforced and is slowly regaining shields.
We still have too many wormholes open, so we get in our Dominixes to close them up.

We unfortunately do not have great exit control:
a bubble goes down and a Vindicator emerges from the POS,
lands on the highsec hole, and gets away.
The Orca that was just sitting in the force field also gets away.
The Moros, Nidhoggur, and Rorqual are still there, though.

The Ishtars warp to the POS and start shooting it.
One of them speaks up in local.

Destroyer1020 > this would go much faster if you were helping

We bubble 2 of the wormholes up and start collapsing the rest.
As we take one down, an Enyo lands where it used to be.
A pod appears where the Enyo used to be.

Realizing what we're up to, the not-so-friendly Ishtars leave system.

Chronasis > you left 2 wormholes un-guarded bitches

My granddad always said "never trust an Ishtar farther than you can throw it."

We move on to the last wormhole that we want to collapse.
It goes critical, but we decide it would be safe to do one more Dominix pass,
having proved the day before that we are experts at wormhole math.

You can probably guess where this is going.
It collapses with the Dominix on the wrong side.
This time, we don't have probes on the Dominix and we don't have a scanner on the other side.
It's a good thing his clone was up-to-date.

We shoot the tower.

It explodes.

POS, SMA

Sequel

We self-destruct the Moros (as shown in the first screenshot) and Rorqual.
We use the Nidhoggur to repair the 1 billion in
faction POS modules laying around and ship them out.

On a quiet day, we extract the Orca completely uneventfully.

I try to sell the wormhole and get a buyer.
We're a bit slow because Thanksgiving.

Late one night, I finally get the connection and confirmation that we've moved everything out.
The next morning, I sign on and wait for the buyer.
Casually, I hit d-scan and see an Iteron.
An hour later, I see a force field.

They're Made Out of Meathttp://localhost:8000/post/182013-11-16T00:00:00Zraylu
The Hauler?

Our day starts with an Imicus jumping a wormhole into our interdictors.
The Imicus jumps back and we follow it into a C4 black hole.
On the C4 side, we see the Imicus cloak up and a Iteron Mark V trying to align out.
So we bop it and find 100 of the 650 million inside.

As one of us points out, "that thing was not going to make it to Jita anyway".

The Miner??

We open up into a new C1 and d-scan shows a mining barge and two corpses in a ore site.

Odin 0demark's Frozen Corpse Corpse 46 km
Loky Dodsmark's Frozen Corpse Corpse 48 km

For reference, corpses disappear after 2 hours.
We try to get the barge but we decloak on a Veldspar asteroid and it gets away.
Do you see this CCP?
Nerf Veldspar.

Then, Freya Dodsmark jumps a Tayra from highsec into the C1.
And warps it into the ore site.
Where 2 of his alts had died and we had just revealed ourselves.

We point him.

Freya Dodsmark > Im in peace
Freya Dodsmark > not gonna attack

What?

Freya Dodsmark > I was minning here
Atarius Tok > You're in an indy
Atarius Tok > Ransom?
Freya Dodsmark > and a russian destroy the barge
Freya Dodsmark > nono
Freya Dodsmark > I leave here and those are my corpses

Suddenly, flashback to a salvaging algos.
Anyway, we pop it and pod it.

Atarius Tok > Here is one more
Freya Dodsmark > why did you do that?
Atarius Tok > We BBQ frozen corpses
Atarius Tok > Company party
Freya Dodsmark > ok then

The Interdictor???

Meanwhile, in highsec, an Impairor goes suspect and gets blown up by one of us.
This gives him a limited engagement with the killer.
With his newfound powers, he proceeds to aggress our Deimos on the undock in his Devoter.
He's still suspect and can no longer dock,
so the inevitable happens.

T2 beam lasers on a heavy interdictor (for reference, Scorch M hits out to the edge of your bubble).
Faction hardeners to make it fit and faction heat sinks... to do lots of... damage.
A neutral Noctis scooped the 120 million of heat sinks before we got to it.

2 Talons, 1 Primaehttp://localhost:8000/post/172013-11-12T00:00:00Zraylu
So I bought a new Rapier and we opened into a fresh C1 with a highsec static.
To commemorate this event, I tried to point an Epithal coming back from highsec.
My decloak delay prevented me from doing it in time, so he warped off.

Later, he jumped back out to highsec. And back in.
So I decloaked earlier this time and pointed him.
Instead of jumping back to highsec, the pilot ejected and warped off.

Then, a corpmate logged in and saw a Primae on scan at planet VIII doing PI.
I told him he couldn't catch it in time, but catch it he did.
And then he pointed the pod too.

Thoroughly confused by the pod, we continue sitting in the hole.
A Myrmidon, still from the same corp, jumps from highsec and we hesitate.
It gets away.

A Heron pops its head out of the POS and we try to bomb it, but fail.

A Bestower warps to planet V to do PI and we botch that gank horribly.

And then the CEO opens a conversation with me.
After pleasantries are exchanged, we begin.

raylu D > so, what's this convo about?
raylu D > would you like to pay us some money, by any chance?
Nikul Naath > it depends
raylu D > what on?
Nikul Naath > if you will share your intentions
raylu D > we're just your average w-space dwellers, looking for some combination of fun and profit: http://blog.hellsinker.org/
raylu D > this is fun, but we'll stop the fun for profit
Nikul Naath > Interesting
Nikul Naath > we are also in the game of profit
Nikul Naath > so what is your ransom?

I confer with my alliancemates and hear numbers all over the place.

raylu D > 200 million ISK
Nikul Naath > for what?
raylu D > for us to leave
Nikul Naath > all you have done is kill a few indys
raylu D > Kill: Mag'ladroth (Capsule)
Nikul Naath > yeah mag'ladroth fucked up
Nikul Naath > hes new
raylu D > well, it seems most of your corp is rather new. but yes.
Nikul Naath > well yeah we are a C1, but dont get me wrong we have connections

At this point I stop typing to have a good laugh.

raylu D > heh. i suppose you're not interested in the newbro ransom discount, then
raylu D > the funny thing is, you have connections but you haven't even scanned them down :P
Nikul Naath > scan down connections?
raylu D > wormhole connections
Nikul Naath > im talking people
raylu D > yes, i know. it was a joke :(

Nobody understands me.

raylu D > so, no deal?
Nikul Naath > where are you guys coming from?
Nikul Naath > I need to have reason to pay a ransom
raylu D > i'd say that's private information, but all you have to do is scan your system to answer that
Nikul Naath > I have the system mapped
raylu D > alternatively, you could just look us up
Nikul Naath > im assuming the C5
raylu D > why not the C3?
Nikul Naath > because I always assume the worst first
raylu D > haha

That works, I guess.
The conversation goes quiet and I eventually ask if he's figured it out yet.

Nikul Naath > the 5
raylu D > how do you figure?
Nikul Naath > I dont figure. I assume
raylu D > ok...
raylu D > so, 200 mil?
Nikul Naath > no

Negotations do not go well and the conversation drops into another lull.
On the other hand, I anchor a T1 mobile medium warp disruptor and T2 small.

raylu D > what's with the combat probes?
Nikul Naath > mapping the system
Nikul Naath > what else
raylu D > ...why not use core probes???
Nikul Naath > becuse you have moblies
Nikul Naath > mobiles*
raylu D > huh?? that doesn't change anything
Nikul Naath > Well we caught a few ships in the meantime
Nikul Naath > dont worry about it '
raylu D > yes... but our ships our cloaky
Nikul Naath > some of them yes
Nikul Naath > but we have already counted those
Nikul Naath > and the ones outside in high sec

Welp.
In the meantime, a Manticore flown by ZooChase II shows up from the C3.
Looking up his corp, we learn he lives in a C5 with a C3 static.
We also see that he's flown a Manticore before.
Invigorated by the shiny Manticore, we get a Brutix to sit at the planet VIII POCO.

The Manticore decloaks 40km off the Brutix, then cloaks back up.
(A Republic Fleet Warp disruptor points out to 30km unbonused, so 36km with overloading.)
A few minutes later, he decloaks again, this time 30km off.
Instead of pointing the Brutix, he cloaks up again.

A Brutix from the same corporation as the Manticore comes through the C3 and lands on our Brutix.
The Manticore decloaks.
We decloak.

The Manticore and Brutix rip through our Brutix's shield, then armor.
Our Falcon manages to land jams on both and our Brutix repairs himself back up.
The Manticore is too far to point and nopes right out of there.
We get the Brutix.

In local:

ZooChase II > nice tarp, lol

I unanchor the bubbles but, trying to scoop them up, I run into a technical difficulty.
The loot and all my bubbles take up too much space.
Since we've previously established that I'm an honorable person,
I did the only honorable thing to do.

Back to the other conversation, I teach Nikul Naath how to figure out where we live.
I also point him to my gift.

Nikul Naath > ok you rock
Nikul Naath > anything I can do for you?
raylu D > get your guys into covops :)

Skipping ahead a bit.

Nikul Naath > I wasnt lying when i said we have connections though. The guy that owns the minmatar tower here is a beast. Just wasnt online. Still you guys are on another level

Right.

Nikul Naath > anyway I removed you from terrible standing... and thank you for the small bit of adrenaline tonight.

And then this happens.

2013.11.13 04:08:21 Player Donation 5,000,000 ISK [r] Nikul Naath deposited cash into raylu D's account

raylu D > ...what's that for?
Nikul Naath > Cool dude award

The Other 50%http://localhost:8000/post/162013-10-23T00:00:00Zraylu
We spotted a salvaging Algos cleaning up after a solo site-runner in a C3.
He lived in a C2 with a C3 static and we came in from one of the other three wormholes.
I mean, I guess that's what you should expect from a self-named salvaging Algos with no drones.
Anyway, he died and we chatted.

kyoki Tsutola > hey bro can i ask for the amount worth of half the cargo, you guys gett a pretty good prize
raylu C > yes... but what do we get?

raylu C > i don't... understand why i would do that

raylu C > i'm somewhat sad about these scourge heavy missiles on your tengu

Look, even if you don't write your own killboard, you should probably know that they exist.

raylu C > your tengu should use faction or t2 ammo. and i looked it up on a killboard

Also, don't do this to your poor Proteus...

we have two of us gas harvesting in our home system.
A Loki warps in on us and decloaks.

Our Ventures align faster than the Loki can begin targeting us
and we're paying enough attention to warp out.
Our only exit is to the C1, so we assemble a fleet there.
The Loki has a few buddies, including a Proteus, at the wormhole.
Seeing our larger fleet, they ditch him.

Good Fightshttp://localhost:8000/post/142013-10-12T00:00:00Zraylu
We spent way too long chasing down a pesky Reaper.
The story is too boring to reproduce here, but the
point is we
caught him
and killed him.

During all this, one of our alliancemates was bringing in a new Buzzard.
Someone in a bomber didn't hear him call out his bump, so...

"Getoutgetoutgetoutgetoutgetout"
"Oh shit he's serious"

I really really wish I had at least audio of comms, but alas,
I didn't figure a reaper kill would make for a good video so I stopped recording.

Someone pointed out that the ship+pod aren't even worth the bombs.
While this is true, he was also in a bomber shooting bombs, so whatever.

Draft 1http://localhost:8000/post/122013-09-06T00:00:00Zraylu
It was a dark and stormy night.
I went down the stairs to the C1 to get a drink.
I saw you already there, sitting in your Nemesis, smiling in your POS.
I look but don't touch.

Unable to sleep, I head downstairs again.
This time, your friend is there.
He's quietly running a site in his Drake,
pretending to be quiet but trying to wake you.
I recognize your friend immediately -
we've met before.

You're sound asleep.
Thoughts of infidelity swim in my mind.
I'm having trouble thinking clearly.
My mind says no, but my body says yes.
It's too hot to sleep anyway.

I pounce like a savage beast, unable to control my urges.
I scream as I overheat with rage and desire, nearly burning out my... modules.
We flail about, two tiny bodies locked within the infinite stretches of the stars.
As the Thermodynamic Arrow of Time drags us relentlessly towards the heat-death of the universe,
we both come to climax.
The pain is intense, but oh so good.

TL;DR: chomped on someone else's bait
because they were AFK or something.
Paid with a Hound and a

Moosehttp://localhost:8000/post/112013-09-03T00:00:00Zraylu
We just got done killing someone's 800 million ISK pod
while he drifted away from his POS.
We then bring a heavy interdictor in and sit him on the wormhole.
A pod lands on the wormhole, sees the HIC, then jumps out.

And back in.

Atarius Tok > wao
Caitlyn Darmazaf > and laged

Stay right there - after the commercial break, we find out what "moose" is.

Also, if anyone has any clue what this "moose" thing is, please tell us.

What the pod?http://localhost:8000/post/102013-09-01T00:00:00Zraylu
So this happened.

We were hunting in another system when we spotted a "mining Gnosis" in our C1 static.
What followed was a completely standard battle for us.

Chomp on the bait

???

PROFIT?!

But then, things got confusing.
We mistook the Damnation pilot ejecting from his ship for a capsule landing on field.
We realized that they hadn't been able to bring in their full force because they collapsed their entrance wormhole.
Then, we realized that it was their only wormhole.

Video

And so we chat in local.

Kuklinski > give us an exit out?
Kratorin > how much?
Kuklinski > 0
Kratorin > lol
Kuklinski > it the right thing to do

They apparently really do not like ECM.

Zaclya > lame excuse
Dean Mintar > lol
Kuklinski > your either the right sort or your not
Kuklinski > np to SD

And so, with us trying to combat probe down pods,
dscan reveals that the pods have turned into corpses without us lifting a finger.

Later, the group we were looking to fight originally shows up in the system
while we're trying to figure out if there are any pods left and our static goes reduced.

fencemaster1 > :(
Ayma Mess > just finished off a diff fleet
Ayma Mess > maybe another time
DvlsAngl1 > alright

We start to leave the system.

Jac Meoff > how about now ?

But wait, there's more!

We spot an Orca,
Moros, and Armageddon closing a wormhole.
As they collapse it, the Armageddon warps off and we point them.

Akihabarahttp://localhost:8000/post/92013-08-26T00:00:00Zraylu
HSKR directors went to Akihabara, Tokyo to fetch HELLSINKER. Behold:

Laika the Spacedog still #1 Cosmonauthttp://localhost:8000/post/82013-08-14T00:00:00Zraylu
Foreword

We here at HELLSINKER are neither pirates nor griefers; we are wormhole dwellers.
The only real distinction is that we don't actively pursue tears or blow up haulers in highsec
to steal PLEX or whatever other mean things the yarrsmen and yarrswomen of the universe get up to.

Our PvP excursions are limited by opportunity, driven by boredom, and tempered by our own laziness.
The easiest way to avoid fighting us is to do as you should be doing everywhere else: cover your ass!
If you sit out unprepared and unprotected (and, god forbid, AFK) in w-space,
we are going to sodomize you to the best of our ability.

To illustrate this point, today we have for you a cautionary tale of two Russian fellows
(a dude and his alt probably) I had the pleasure of meeting about two weeks back.

The Pod

The first I heard of these Russians was a report from a scout in a C3 that
there is a pod just sitting in a combat site near the wreck of a frigate.
We have a bit of a laugh about newbies learning about sleepers the hard way.
With only a bomber and a covops nearby, we have nothing to go in and safely pop the pod with.
The pod leaves eventually.

It's a slow day so we throw together a C3 fleet and head towards the system the pod was in.
Meanwhile, the pilot in the pod returns, this time with a buddy, each in a Maelstrom.
Our scout kept eyes on them and reports that they are trying to run the combat sites,
but they keep hopping back out into k-space using the very same hole that we planned on coming in from.

Disappointment

Our fleet (4 battlecruiers, a T1 logistics cruiser, and a bomber who had joined our scout in the C3)
is now poised in the highsec system connected to the C3,
waiting for the two Maelstrom (on scan at the hole) to jump through and re-engage the sleepers.
They jump through and we warp to to the hole...

So here we are, fully prepared to take them on, guns blazing, do-or-die,
our collective balls pressed to cold, hard pod walls, and the fucking hole is gone.
Collapsed.
"Clever bastards", "what perfect timing", and collective groans over comms.

We sit for a minute and debate.
There is another way into the C3, but it's like 12 jumps away, 6 of them through lowsec.
In the end, the fleet decides to return.

BAD END.

Contact?

As I'm reaching our home system, our scout reports that these Russians,
having discovered they collapsed their entrance,
have deployed probes to scan down the lowsec we already have charted.

How many probes?
Not one or two or three but four!
Four probes!
It is immediately apparent to us that not only are they NOT clever but also new to w-space,
and their hole rolling shenanigans have trapped them for the time being.
Myself, the scout, and the bomber still in the C3 confer,
formulate a plan, and put it in action.

With the help of Google translate, I establish contact (their profiles said they speak no English):

Ayma Mess > вы застряли? Хотите купить выход
Romanov Oleg > нет спс

The conversation is very short and conducted in half Google-Russian,
but the gist is I ask if he's stuck and need a way out
and he responds with a clear "no" and closes the convo.

Diplomacy has failed us and I'm a little annoyed about it.
I went through the effort of translating so I could sell them an exit at a reasonable price,
and I got shut down.
Time to kill some rude Russians!

The Fight

Phase two of the plan immediately goes into action.
Our scout leaves the hole to fit up a bomber at the nearest hub,
and I myself start the long trek to the lowsec hole that is now the only entrance.
There's no need for a play-by-play here: time passes, and not a small amount,
while the Russians do nothing but failscan and sit around in space.

We eventually arrive and warp in on the bomber still left in the hole,
designate primary, discuss tactics, worry a little bit, and then BAM.
Out come the bombs: three electrons land and do their damage and we're now looking at some pretty soft targets.
The locks go up, the points land, we begin orbiting, torpedoes begin hitting and... nothing.
We are ready for a fierce battle where we trade kills and the fuckers are totally AFK.
One goes down,
then his pod.

Suddenly, signs of life from the second Maelstrom and out come the drones.
He manages to get one bomber to 50% shields before we get him.
We either gave him a stroke or he was busy flipping his table in rage,
because he didn't think to get his pod out either.

Upon his death, I receive notification that I have been blocked from communicating with him ever again.
Heartbreaking, really.
I got over it, though, because the wrecks paid out better than the C3s ever would have.

Note: Check the "Proof of Discovery: Relic" × 6 on that first killmail.
I have done plenty of dumb things and I will do more dumb things from here on out,
but I keep those in my PHA as a reminder not to go full retard.

The Hunthttp://localhost:8000/post/72013-08-11T00:00:00Zraylu

But what would my father say if he heard me telling a story this way?
'Begin at the beginning.'
Very well, if we are to have a telling, let’s make it a proper one.
In the beginning, as far as I know, the world was spun out of the nameless void by Aleph, who gave everything a name.
Or, depending on the version of the tale, found the names all things already possessed.

Day One

Our tale begins two days ago, in a C2 system known to us only as
J-one-four-four-zero-zero-four, or J144004 for short.
We saw a Corax sitting on the highsec wormhole in jump range.
Looking to use my shiny new bait Venture, we assemble a small fleet on the C1 static.

I jump my Venture in and warp to the highsec hole.
I wait for the Corax to open fire while drifting off, hoping to pull it out of jump range.
It starts shooting and takes out at least ¼ of my shields with its first volley.
I respond with my puny gun (singular) and neutralizers, dealing almost no damage.

Meanwhile, our fleet, my alt included, jump into system and warp to the highsec hole.
Mid-warp, my Venture dies.
I was not very far from the hole, but apparently out of jump range.
Either that or, in a hurry to warp my alt to the wormhole, I didn't actually click jump.
In either case, I lost my pod.

Our fleet landed as the Corax was jumping out to highsec.
Luckily, Catalysts are amazing.
Pod.
Audio.

With that out of the way, we turned our attention
to Russians running sites in another C2 in a Rattlesnake and Drake.
By the time we got our fleet in position, the Rattlesnake was gone and only the Drake was there.
Looking at their killboard, we noticed that they had lost another Rattlesnake
and a Machariel 4 days ago.
We decide to wait.

A popup informs us that downtime is in 15 minutes.
We continue to wait.

10 minutes to downtime, we get a bit antsy.
What are they doing?
How are they going to salvage the wrecks?
Do wrecks even stay after downtime?

5 minutes before downtime, we just jump it.
Pod.
Video.

They apparently had some poor communication because we grabbed a
Caracal
after downtime trying to enter the system we ganked the Drake in.
Video.

We find another C2 connected to the one we ganked them in,
but EVE Census points out that
they live in J204221.
We eventually find J204221 and I hop in.

Even though the Russians are just starting their day, it's very late for us so we sign off.
This was a hint I should have taken to not leave my scanning alt in their wormhole,
but how can I look a Rattlesnake and a Machariel in the face and not at least try?

Day Two

The next day, we see a Proteus and Legion running sites in a different C2.
We botch the gank and they POS up.
It turns out "they" is actually "he" -- one man dual-boxing.
We then reverse-bait him by salvaging his sites in a completely unprotected Noctis.

Later, he wisely downgrades into a Drake and Harbinger

which we kill.
Drake, pod.
Harbinger, pod. Unwisely, we took our fleet through a reduced wormhole, which
went missing on us.

Luckily, we didn't need to go back because a Scorpion was flying around the Russians' C2.
Half our fleet was stuck in the chain we just ganked in, henceforth known as Chain 1.
The other half scanned down Chain 2.
I've scanned down the Russians' chain, Chain 3 - it's almost 20 jumps from 1 and 2.
We mobilize.

One of our guys tries to get into the Russians' system through Chain 3, but the static is gone.
He goes back out to k-space while I scan down Chain 4.
On our way there, we finally realize that the Scorpion is collapsing the wormholes, including Chain 4.
We decide to just fly in through the lowsec wormhole,
ironically 6 jumps from Chain 1 where nobody is anymore.

On our way there, the Scorpion turns his attention to the lowsec and starts collapsing that.
Suddenly, someone who I wasn't aware was in system speaks in local.

Der Bettelmoench > :-))
Alan Dart > жестокая реальность вх xD

And then he signs off. Meanwhile, the Scorpion finishes making a pass on the lowsec hole.
Polarized for the next 5 minutes, he warps back to his POS while we slip a stealth bomber into system.

He comes out 5 minutes later and a Buzzard who I was also unaware of cross-jumps the Scorpion.
The wormhole goes reduced.

5 minutes later, the Scorpion makes another pass and we slip a cloaky Tengu into system.

5 minutes later, the Scorpion makes another pass and we slip a cloaky Legion and another bomber in.

5 minutes later, the hole finally goes critical.
But then, almost 6 minutes but certainly no earlier than 4 minutes later, the Scorpion collapses the hole.

The temptation to nab the Scorpion was maddening.
We had more than enough cloakies on both sides of the wormhole to kill him.
But we were there for the faction Battleships, not a hole-collapsing Scorpion.

We wait.
We also start to nod off.
We sign off for the night.

Day Three

Luckily, the new lowsec connects directly to our home system's chain.
Knowing we wouldn't be able to stay up as late on a Sunday night,
we pull all of our characters out of the system to go shoot sleepers.

And everyone lived forever. The end.

The Orca, the Chimera, and the POShttp://localhost:8000/post/62013-08-05T00:00:00Zraylu
Prelude

Yesterday, some of us logged in to run anomalies, but we couldn't field enough people.
Denied the opportunity to shoot NPCs, we went looking elsewhere for things to shoot.

I jumped into lowsec, into a C3, and into a C4: J140810.
There, I find a territorial control unit, a mobile warp disruptor, and a POS.
Inside the POS is an unmanned Chimera and a manned Machariel.
Deciding this could be delicious, we ship up into mostly stealth bombers and fly to the lowsec.

With the Machariel still just sitting in a POS, we find a Retriever in a belt.
As we carefully slowboat our stealth bombers into point range, belt rats spawn and the Retriever warps off.
We find it at another belt and gank the living bejeezus out of it.

The Orca

The Machariel in the C4 signs off but is replaced by a Proteus in another POS.
It warps to the C3, and we set up on the lowsec side to gank it.
As it leaves the C3, we screw up big time.
Our heavy tackle had a warp scrambler and, unfortunately, was more than 10km from the Proteus.
Our stealth bomber had accidentally drifted very far off the hole and was more than 24km away.
Our other guys were not in position or were on the C3 side to catch it when it tried to hop back.

[03:37:47] Ceremone > nah not today fellas. not in the mood

We decide to hop into the C3 so we don't appear in local in the lowsec.
Our entire fleet is cloaky so it appears that we've left entirely.

We wait.

Some minutes later, Ceremone comes back in a Velator.
We're tempted to grab it, but we decide to let it go in hopes of catching something bigger.
The Velator lands in the C4 POS and switches into a T2 transport ship.
He warps to the C3 wormhole and I excitedly call this out over comms.
At this point, it's been about 20 minutes since we missed the Proteus;
we are getting antsy and are looking forward to looting the wreck of this transport.

Someone points out that he's moving out of the C4 and is just testing to see if we're still here.
We let it go unharmed through the C3, into lowsec, and away.

Intermission

One of us mentions that he left a character logged out in a C1 overnight with a
very vulnerable small POS and a couple of unmanned ships sitting outside the SMA.
It's a mere 9 jumps from the lowsec...

The Orca, for real this time

15 minutes later, Ceremone shows back up in an Orca.
He enters the C3, warps to the C4, jumps into the C4, and is locked down by most of our fleet.
With his armor gone, he jumps back into the C3,
where the rest of us lock him up, blow up the Orca,
and pod him.

Ceremone > oh hey, its you guys from earlier
Kratorin > [03:37:47] Ceremone > nah not today fellas. not in the mood what was that?

Teehee.

Ceremone > oh my corp
Ceremone > has been nothing but lazy bitches lately. i was moving my shit out on the DL to quit em
Kratorin > wait
Kratorin > if ur quitiing them can we get pw to shields?
Ceremone > nah, im not like that
Kratorin > aww

Words are exchanged.

Ceremone > but theyre taught me too much up to this point to do em wrong like that
Ceremone > but i cant man, sorry. thats not me
Ceremone > i only have the PW to the miners POS
Ceremone > we have two, and the miners, since we're filthy animals, get the small POS
Ceremone > and the large POS is a different PW that i never have

On an unrelated note, he told us about his corp's appearance on /r/Eve.

The Chimera

And then,

Ceremone > and i mined that whole chimera solo, just saying
raylu C > wait...
raylu C > you mined up the chimera
raylu C > and now it's locked up in the large pos that you can't get into?
Kratorin > shouldnt it be urs?
Ceremone > and yep
Ceremone > they bought the BP's and i mined it
raylu C > ...
raylu C > and now it's their chimera? did they pay you for it?
Ceremone > nope
Kratorin > wow
raylu C > wat
minddestroyer > thats cold
Ceremone > they got us all starter site ships and training plans to do c3's tho
Nicholettta > that sounds like a GREAT deal
Ceremone > and taught us how to live in WH space
Ceremone > oh i know
Kratorin > they gave u t1 ships for a carrier?
Ceremone > looking back now i realize it was a raq deal
raylu C > http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/420/682/42e.jpg
Ceremone > raw*
Kratorin > raw would be an understatement

More words are exhanged.

Ceremone > youre dead set on trying to get me vengeful
Kratorin > trying to make us both some isk
Kratorin > and have some fun with a carrier
Ceremone > wont happen brother, my ex wife was satan
Kratorin > umm
Ceremone > i got no control over those tho
Kratorin > your ex wife or satan?
Ceremone > either
raylu C > from what i just gathered, they're actually the same person
Ceremone > that they were

The POS

We head to the POS in the C1 in stealth bombers.
It has a web and some small lasers online.
The lasers aren't able to track our frigates, but with the web it can.
Our plan is to shoot it, cloak up, shoot it, cloak up, until it dies or we die of boredom.
50% through the web's shields, one of us decides to try staying decloaked to see what happens.

Nothing.
The POS isn't configured to shoot back.
Neither the web nor the lasers lock us.
We switch targets to the POS and just unload on that.
Since the system is 3 jumps from Dodixie and the tower is an unhardened Amarr tower,
we ship up into some Oracles and start working on it.

Our fingers are crossed for an unstronted tower.
We get its shields down to 45%. I mean, who doesn't even set their guns to shoot back?
Shields are at 35%. Surely if they weren't competent enough to set up the guns, they also didn't stront it, right?
25%. As we get through the 25th percent, the tower enters reinforced.
Much groaning is heard over comms.

Too disappointed to set up mobile warp disruptors, I log off.
One of our newbros dies in the C1.
I log back in as we get their scanner.

I proceed to failcage the POS.

A failcage is like the much more popular other cage, but with an extra dose of fail.
In my defense, this was my first time setting up bubbles on a POS.
Math is hard.
Bestowers are slow.

A Hurricane slips into highsec while the bubbles are onlining.
We log off for the night.

The Chimera, part II

Boom.

The CEO freaked out when he found out Ceremone was leaving and ejected all of the ships
out of the <del>filthy animals</del> mining POS, moving everyone into the large one.
With the Chimera.

After the CEO signed off, good guy Ceremone gave James Arget the
forcefield password and invited him to self-destruct the Chimera.
(For reference, carriers do not fit through C4 wormholes.)
I'm sad we weren't on that kill, but I'm glad Ceremone has moved on.

POS, part II

That night, we show up as the tower is exiting reinforced.
Overnight, they had destroyed my failcage and gotten their ships out.

We blow up their POS.

Hero Tacklehttp://localhost:8000/post/52013-07-28T00:00:00Zraylu
A Drake flew into a C1 from the lowsec it was connected to.
We dove in after it, but failed to catch it.
It didn't seem to have any other way out,
so I left my Helios orbiting the hole on the lowsec side, uncloaked.
Louis watched him jump out and excitedly called it out over comms.

On the other side, the Drake met my Helios.
He was now polarized and unable to jump back through.
With no other choice, he engaged me in honorable combat.
Combat between men. In space. Immortal men.
Combat between a battlecruiser and a covert ops frigate.

Meanwhile, the rest of us landed on the hole, jumped into the lowsec, and blew him up.
I ducked back through the wormhole before he killed me.

Today, I learned the meaning of <del>honorable combat</del> hero tackle.

Slippery Gnosishttp://localhost:8000/post/42013-07-24T00:00:00Zraylu
A wandering wormhole opened into our system from highsec.
We scanned down the highsec system and found another wandering wormhole into a C2 (R943).
The C2 had another highsec static inside.

By the time I log on, we've moved enough stuff through the highsec to make it critical.
I leave in a covops frigate and check out the C2.
What do I find but a Gnosis and some wrecks on scan?

I start looking for him on dscan but I have trouble as he is moving around.
He disappears from the system a few times too.
Given that there are two highsec wormholes in the C2, we figure he must be moving stuff around.

Hesitant to put anything too big through our highsec exit, we bring a Sabre and a Manticore.
We cross our fingers and jump.
The wormhole stays up.
Once in the C2, we start looking for him, but the system is empty.
I position my sabre between the two highsec wormholes.

We wait.

A few minutes pass, and the Gnosis shows up again.
He must have come in through one of the other wormholes.
We look for him, but determine that he's at a safe.
Having established he didn't come through the hole we were sitting on
and with no combat probes, I move to the other highsec wormhole.

Mid-warp, I hit dscan and the Gnosis is gone, replaced by "Yur Kardashev's Capsule".
As I land, a pod also lands on the hole and jumps out.
He convos me.

Yur Kardashev > too late
Yur Kardashev > sleepers already blow me up

It turns out he was running a data site that was no longer in the signature list.
This isn't the first time we set up a kill only to lose it to sleepers,
but at least we didn't have to jump far for it.

Sleepers are so OP.
At least we both made it back home without collapsing the wormhole.

Chimerashttp://localhost:8000/post/22013-07-22T00:00:00Zraylu
One of our alliancemates got killed by someone a few months ago.
He watchlisted his foe and forgot about it.

Today, he saw that pilot manning a gate camp in Gonditsa.
We got into 3 guardians and some armor battlecruisers/T3's and formed a train.

We left through our direct-to-Rens wormhole, a few jumps away from Gonditsa.
Half our fleet made it through before the hole collapsed.
The rest of our fleet left through another hole, 20 jumps away.

Then we went to Gonditsa, where we failed to catch our target.
Also, we showed our Guardians too early to a "neutral" magnate on the highsec side of the gatecamp,
so the entire gatecamp flew off.

We backed off to our staging system when our scout noticed that they were all reshipping into catalysts.
Then, he noticed them in highsec, followed shortly by them all going criminal.
Apparently, they had suicide-ganked a hulk.
We tried to catch them on the lowsec side, but our interceptor didn't lock any of their pods before they warped off.

Then, that same magnate showed up on the gate.
Having been foiled once, we took the bait and
started our aggression timers, making us unable to jump back into highsec.

Video.

3 Guardians. 7 battlecruisers/T3's. 3 Chimeras. One magnate kill.

POS saleshttp://localhost:8000/post/12013-07-12T00:00:00Zraylu
POS sales
7/12/2013

So we killed someone and he offered to sell us the location of his corp's POS.
He was moving to a much larger pirate corp which, he quickly assured us,
could kill us if we dared to messed with him again.

minddestroyer > so jake here is offering up his POS
raylu D > i love POSes

Jake Lemon Lemon > Is it possible for you to find me a wormhole to the wh space

That's right. He's trying to sell us bookmarks to POSes in the wormhole,
but doesn't have connections in.
This does not, however, deter him from spewing nonsense.
