In May, I only completed The Last of Us Part I (April 1 - May 16) [13h 22m]

I can see why people like it, but personally it was not for me, I couldn't pinpoint exactly why but it is what it is. One of the main reason might be the game made me feel extremely nauseating after a bit of gameplay and you could only set the FOV to the maximum of 6

In May 23, I started Red Dead Redemption 2, I am enjoying it, I will write about it in the corresponding monthly thread when I finish it someday

I kicked off May by finishing two games:
- Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! - NDS - 02/05 - 37:56 h
- Against the Storm [Replay] - PC - 05/05 - 35:36 h

After that, I hit a bit of a gaming slump and ended up dropping 3 games (something that rarely happens to me):
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (13:30 h) - I was hoping for something closer to Skyrim, but it felt way too repetitive.
- Baba is You (2:18 h) - Not the best time for complex puzzles.
- Football Manager 2024 [Replay] (18 h) - Ran into issues with the lowest Spanish tier, having wage problems (the game is prepared to bigger leagues).

Out of everything, Against the Storm was definitely my favorite. I progressed further than in my last run and had a great time with it.

Then came a couple of disappointing experiences and a minor gaming crisis. But I bounced back by turning to one of my comfort games - a LEGO title - and stumbled upon Expedition 33, which I'm really enjoying so far.

Another very light month for me, but did manage to at least clear one game unlike in April, but mainly focused on other things that month.

Resident Evil 2 - May 6

I played the remake of the original Resident Evil last March and really liked so always intended to get to the second game, but took until last month for me to do so. Played the remake, likely will go back and play the OG sometime, which I feel like was a fine decision and I just really adored and got super absorbed by it. Has the fantastic metroidvania-like exploration of the original game while featuring the modern Resident Evil controls, which felt really good here and did wonders to help the feeling of exploration and the terrible atmosphere all around. Zombies felt like a real threat in this game, with them taking many bullets and you having to be constantly wary of them. Game is also in general just really scary with you feeling the threat around every corner, especially when you end up being hunted by the terrifying Mr. X and constantly have to look out for his footsteps and in general fear running into him. Started out doing Leon's campaign and then did the 2nd Campaign as Claire, with me very much enjoying both and feeling like they did things differently enough to still make the second playthrough interesting in terms of gameplay. Story worked for me as well with many likeable characters and others who had interesting things to them. My time felt very well-spent on the two campaigns and this game is one I very much rank highly, makes me even more sold on the rest of the series. Will likely return to this one later too in order to experience the side-modes, which I did not touch and also master the campaigns further.

June is gonna be another busy month for me and obviously a ton of people will be enjoying the Switch 2, something I'm not getting until a bit later cause I have other priorities and other games to play. Planning on returning to 3DS game with a revisit to Pokémon X & Y and then also highlt anticipated playing through the new Deltarune chapters, which I will also do after everybody else. Very likely that I'll touch some other smaller titles, like Mega Man 6 for example.

Is alien soldier any good? How's the difficulty?

From videos it looks awesome.

Alien Soldier is incredible! It plays similar to Gunstar Heroes since both were developed by Treasure. I played the 6-Button Controller Support (Hack) on Genesis since it maps all your commands on each button which makes it far more convenient than the original. The difficulty isn't as daunting as others make it out to be, although going in blind will give you that impression (which It did to me several years ago).

Each stage has a short run'n gun segment mostly to charge up your weapons, attain health before the focus of the game- fighting a large boss. The difficulty comes down to navigating your options since you have plenty, from dashing (which is essential!) punching, double jumping, floating, switching weapons, switching fixed shots/free shots.

You also have the ability to slow down gameplay during battles to help you defeat boss fights, since you given this I'd say its not beyond difficult instead fair giving the circumstances. Another aspect is the choice of (4) weapon variation before you start a level, this part reminds me of Mega Man series since certain bosses are lose to particular weapons. A tricky aspect is running out of ammunition, so you have to mind your weapon gauges and switch them accordingly refill the lower ones. The game also gives you an array of customization when it comes to displaying your health, weapon strength, bosses health etc.
