Just to add to UnsungGhost's reply, on the front page there's an accuracy guide to show the colour scaling.

Got it, thanks for clarifying!

I just completed a game, but I rushed through it. When I submit my time, how do I submit/mark it as 'Rushed'?

That is something that HLTB does itself.
It'll be something like the 5th and 95th percentile (or similar, I don't know the specifics - maybe someone else can fill that in?).
If you want to inform others that your time is based on a rushed play-through, you could leave a note to that effect.

ok thank you!

Hello everyone, I have one question, since I could not and do not know where to find the answer. I specifically go through games that are not on HLTB in order to replenish your database of games with information about the duration of the passage. This is necessary, since the guys make games (in the form of board games) for streamers, where each turn = the passage of one game. And the benchmark for them is just the statistics on HLTB.
I stream the entire passage myself, and as I understand it, you need to upload the passage to youtube. And what else do you need to do to get the game checked and added to the database? Just wait?

Hi everyone,
how do I add/submit a DLC?
"Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader - Void Shadows" is not yet in the database. How do I submit it so it shows up as a DLC for Rogue Trader?

Hi Uspeli,
unfortunately I don't understand your question.
If your question is "I have submitted a game to the database, do I need to do anything else than wait a while before it gets added?" then I think the answer is that you just need to wait a bit.

Add the DLC normally under Submit, then you can select DLC/Expansion under Game Type. In the comment section below, mention that it is a DLC and include the link to the main game.

Thank you very much, ThyReen!
I've submitted the game and am waiting now for it to be added before I can change the game type.

Looking to potentially migrate from ten years of using Backloggery to HL2B; still plodding through the manual additions and ran into my first hurdle. Backloggery had degrees of completions flags you could throw onto a completed game (originally Beaten, Completed, Mastered; site rebuild condensed these to Beaten and Completed), so I tried to emulate that here, the former style in particular. In my case, I'd flag a game I'd beaten in any way as 'Beaten', a game I'd beaten the hardest difficulty on as Completed, and a game I 100% as Mastered. When they collapsed Completed and Mastered, it muddied up my years long system a bit, but I have notes to differentiate on each title.
Anyways, I found on HL2B the custom tabs and started importing Steam titles based on my records but found quickly that these custom tabs don't seem to flag the game as completed/finished; they're just sorting labels. Is there a way to have a custom tag also be considered completion or must I throw any and all completing games, regardless of thoroughness, into the single Completed category? I suppose I could just double flag these less than 100% games (by checking Beaten (custom tab) and Completed (system tab)) if there's no other way.
It also seems like any other categorization besides Completed hides the completion date field on the game record, so I'm guessing I've talked myself into my own answer with the multiple tags; just looking for some clarity as I get reacquainted with HL2B 10 years later.

I took a Quick Look at your profile to get an idea.
As you say, the custom lists are for sorting, usually for backlogs not really for completions.
The "house style" would be to put those times into the relevant category when adding them to the game although that still wouldn't completely fit your method, and can difficult when doing hundreds of entries "at once".
I think ultimately you would need to modify your plan in some form.

Sounds good; seems I'll likely just migrate my Beaten titles into Completed and take the time to thoroughly fill out the multiple completion timing fields, as I do have notes on the difference between initial beating the game and 100% where relevant. I don't mind the consolidation for the most part, I'm just not sure how I could readily discern within a singular Completed category what titles I've truly Completed (as in no more content) and those that might be worth revisiting for a replay or achievement cleanup or whathaveyou. Is there another flag or label native to the site that I could lean on in that regard?

14 Yrs♥F✓#
You could think of the 3 completion categories as Main (Beaten), Main Plus (Beaten but have more to do.), Completionist (Mastered). You could mention status in the notes.
There aren't really other flags that could fill this need at the moment but I'm also open to feedback.

For now, I've opted to just lean into the format of the site and use my lower 'Beaten' flag as HL2B's Completed, then I've got a list to denote those titles I've truly conquered to sort of parse out the more to do titles. I'm wondering if perhaps I should invert that (make the flag 'more to do' for easier discovery), but I'll just keep experimenting for now.
One last general HL2B mindset question for now; is it general practice to add multiplayer titles and the like to the backlog? I repurposed one of my available custom tabs to endless to categorize endless and MP titles, but since they'll never be marked Completed, I'm guessing they're inflating my backlog percentage and no one needs that. The original goal as I worked through my import was to clear the Steam import list so that importing future titles would be easier (using the only show games not on profile checkmark) so I had to find a home for these kinds of titles, but I'm thinking I'd rather just have to sift through that list once in a while instead of artificially inflating my unbeaten games figures.
Appreciate the quick replies from the community to my open air ramblings.
EDIT: Seems I sorted this out on my own already, having removed the backlog checkmark on those endless. I guess I'm good; back to housekeeping this list!

Is there a way to sort by Game - Main story? I'm only seeing the Game - Time to Beat and User - Main Story?
On the Custom Tabs, is there a way to have the 2 columns: Progress and Global Rating? I'm only able to have either Progress and User - Rating or Combined (?) and Global Rating.

I'm taking a look at the Year in Review, and I have a quick question (apologies if this has been answered before): what is the difference between sorting by "Cataloged" versus "Completions"? I'm guessing the former is for games you added to your profile period, whereas the latter is just games you finished, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct.

Hello people, I have a question.
I completed a game yesterday, December 31st 2024, however when I go to my stats, it is listed under 2025, and it says it was completed on January 1st 2025, I am currently in PT zone if that matters, I think I added it yesterday (dec 31st around 6pm PT).
Can we fix this somehow? Thank you

I assume the time zone is set by your location, which is listed as Slovakia whereas PT suggests you are in the US. I wonder if this is the reason?

Yeah, that is actually possible. I am in B.C., Canada now, but will return to Europe relatively soon. What do you recommend? I mean, when I change my location to Canada, B.C. specifically (PT zone), will the dates change on all my previously recorded completions?
The weird thing is that I just noticed it now, since that game didn't show up on my 2024 wrap up so I investigated and voila, its because it was added to 2025. So what I am thinking is just change the date on that one game to Dec 30th and that should be fine. I don't really care about the day, but year is relatively important to me. Thanks!

Everdred are Amstrad CPC games supposed to show up under the PC platform filter? That doesn't seem correct to me. I'm searching 80s PC games and I've found too many CPC games that don't have PC versions for me to think it's a coincidence.

Quick question about Honkai Star Rail
While the game's main story is split into Chapters, in the in-between period they release Trailblaze Continuances, which are basically just a new sub-arc on some older planet (so say there's a Jarilo-IV chapter, and then they released a Trailblaze Continuance with a new story & plot in it after Xianzhou Luofu chapter was over)
Would it technically be a part of the original Chapter entry, or would it warrant a new DLC page because it's new content that just happens to take place in the same place? I expect it to be the former, but would be great to clarify still.
Also, I'll throw this suggestion again since I never received a "yes" or "no" reply
Zenless Zone Zero will keep releasing new chapters on a monthly basis, but they also organized them in a way that allows to consolidate them - after Chapter 5, there were (in-universe, as in it's a show) credits. There will still be 1.5-1.7 that'll introduce new characters, but from 2.0 onwards there will be a new arc. The community agreed to consolidate the 1.0-1.7 content into a "Season 1" from what I observed, and I think it'd be a decent way to consolidate the whole thing to avoid bloat on the website.

I noticed that Diddy Kong Racing is listed as a "Kart Racer", but "Kart Racer" is missing from the list of genres. I'm guessing it must be an obsolete genre that got removed?
https://howlongtobeat.com/game/2520
I'm wondering if I should change the genre to "Racing/Driving" to make it searchable. At the moment, if I search for "Racing/Driving", Diddy Kong Racing doesn't show up in the results.
Another example is Duck Hunt, which is listed as a "Light Gun Shooter", which is missing from the list of genres.
