It might worth pagination the backlog like it's done for the games list

Yeah, this is high on my list of things to do.

I've honestly used your profile and steam for various testing because of the large volume of games.

So, uh, why exactly do you have 11K backlogged games?

... how?!
Drilled a hole into one of those Internet tubes and hold barrels in front of it to catch all the games, pr0n, cat images and unicorns that leaked out of it?

Oh God, he went after the tubes themselves?! That's an act of war! But I can't get involved; I practice strict net neutrality.

Meanwhile, in 2009:

@GamerAim why 11k on the backlog? Cause I got 11k games

How does one "get" 11K games? I'd be surprised if my backlog and completions both ever reach 1K. No offense, but do you collect free shovelware or something?

I typically don't put free games on the backlog, else it would be a lot higher. In terms of quality, yeah a lot of it probably would fall under a lot of people's ideas of shovelware.

You get 11k games by sheer accumulation. 17 years on Steam / PC in general, paying attention to bundles and keeping an eye out for good sales on various sites. It's pretty easy and it simply adds up over time.

My backlog is >7k now, and I got there mostly the same way Chronoja did. It's mostly from bundles and freebie promos. I have a few free games on my backlog, but only specific ones that I'm interested in playing. I also trade for games on SteamTrades or Lestrade's sometimes. Games accumulate pretty quickly even without buying bundles if you have subscriptions to Amazon Prime and Humble Choice and keep an eye out for freebies.

That's great news, and answers the question that I had. I never see any ads here, despite that this is the only site that I have whitelisted on my ad blocker, so it's a pleasant surprise.

I actually felt more inclined to donate because of the current state of the economy and I finally made a Cash App account. I'm still considering making a small donation if you're still accepting them.

What are the thoughts on adding decimals to the "X/10" review scale? I feel like some games are a bit better than a 7 but not quite an 8 etc. I'm not wanting to get super granular with it, increments of 0.5 would be good I think. If you want to keep the "X/10" scale simple then adding 5% increments to the "100%" scale would work too (so 75% would be the same as a 7.5 etc)

The site is now owned by IGN/Ziff Davis and they have employed me to continue working on it. There will be an official announcement and FAQ coming soon.

The site has been and will continue to be a labor of love. This will allow the site to grow to it's greatest potential.

I have worked for nearly 10 years on this project and would never sell unless I truly believed it was a benefit to the site.

We have very ambitious plans and ideas. Stay tuned!

I can't wait to get more details. My only personal concern is that if the site becomes "too" popular, that the forum might become a mess. I also hope that there will still be checkups on submissions so we can continue to have this great and accurate database.

My only concern is the site gets the same amount of ads as IGN. Otherwise, I'm eager to see what exciting and new things are in store!

This is my concern as well. Popularity can have a nasty side effect sometimes.

At least the website could have gotten popular without being sold, so that's not necessarily an issue with this decision alone.

Due to normal momentum and the pandemic, traffic to the site grew drastically in 2020. So either way we were growing quickly.

I was working 45 hours at my primary job and at least 10-15 hours on the site weekly.

Now I can dedicate more time and energy into the site.

I'm still approving and adding new titles myself but inevitably I will get assistance because it's already a lot for one person. I've built a solid system for approvals and it should help keep the data reliable and consistent for when that day comes.
