+New characters now talk and have a personality
+New movement options can be very useful
+Offers an Australian tint to the story
-No good gun drop until end gameplay
-Story is ultimately irrelevant and pointless
-Too much backtracking for the side quests
Review:
Borderlands the Pre Sequel is a filler game meant to fill in between 2 and 3. It offers little substance and is far to reliant on backtracking for it’s sub quests. It still makes use of the borderlands formula and continues to have fun with the formula but it cannot get around the fact that it is not fully irrelevant to the whole borderlands series and can easily be skipped

The story of how Jack went from an ok-ish human to psychotic cat bag. I dont know why I care or who asked for this story. it adds moon gravity (by the end it was ok but for a solid 10 hrs it was just annoying). this is the worst borderlands imo. (have not played "tales from"

I quit at "the beginning of the end" boss due to being under leveled. I was 20 and I think the boss and mobs were 25/26. The entire game I was under leveled and constantly having to wait to equip gear I found. the game says "if an enemy has a skull next to their name, you should leave and get stronger before facing them". this means "side content" isnt really side content since I need to do it to reach what the developers intended as the "recommended" level for the story. (I did do a couple side quests)

I was playing on switch lite: I could not hear the music over the game effects and I did change the settings to try and fix it.

its an ok game if you get it on steep sale and love borderlands.

Tighter, more varied and more interesting level design than Borderlands 2.

The characters and their skill trees are also much more interesting and engaging to build than its predecessor.

An open world feel does not exist in the same capacity however, the Pre-sequal has a more focused and linear design.

For some this is probably an unwanted departure.

I found the pace of the story, design or the levels and character skill trees a bit less dull and to my tastes than Borderlands 2 however ymmv.

That being said, the slow level ups, overuse of "random" humour, repetitive gameplay of Borderlands 2 still exists here.

Fine - 6/10. BL1 and BL2 are vastly superior, have not played Wonderlands or BL3 yet. Side quests in the Pre-Sequel were mainly ignored to get through the game as it was fairly mid.

I recommend playing once for the story as it follows the "creation" of handsome Jack. However after that the game doesnt offer much and there are just better borderlands games out there.

More Borderlands, it knows what it is and gives you more of that. Some nice little changes with the addition of the oxygen for boosting and ground pounds, as well as the loot grinder for trying to combine lower quality loot into better stuff. If you like the previous games, I think you will like this one as well, though I have no experience in the late game stuff in the series, so I can't speak to that.

A couple of annoyances of lots of invisible level geometry that I frequently got stuck on, and some of the vehicle jumps that sometimes screw you and you'll fall to your death.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

While I dont like this game as much as Borderlands 2, its still amazing. The characters are great. There isnt as much content as 2, but whats there is enjoyable. Being in space is just quite fun on its own. The guns still feel really good. I dont have anything specific to say off the top of my head. Its been a while since ive played it.

This game is very interesting to me as a big Borderlands fan. It never quite hits the highs of Borderlands 1 or 2 for me, but that's not largely the games fault. The studio behind this game, 2K Australia, got Alt+F4'd shortly after the games 1st of a planned 4 DLC's came out, and so the game never got to really hit it's full potential like the other games in the franchise. I will also say that this game has some big pacing issues with slow leveling and tedious side quests, mostly because the design of all the different areas is pretty barren like Borderlands 1 and the quest objectives being spread far apart from one another. But despite all of this, the game might be the best designed in terms of actual combat and individual Vault Hunter design. There isn't an unfair difficulty like OP10, there isn't a required element like Slag, and there isn't obnoxious enemy design like rocket launcher wielding Badasses, or Anointed enemies. It lends itself to player experimentation and trying out new ideas in a more natural way than most of the other games. Also, the DLC in this game stands as a top 3 in the entire franchise, it genuinely does Clap-Trap as a character a lot of justice and adds a level of depth to him that was previously lacking. Without the DLC, this game genuinely might only be a 6-6.5, but with the DLC this game is elevated 2 full points because it's that good.

Pretty much Borderlands 2, almost identical with the sames strengths and weakness, so if you liked that one you will enjoy this.

The very few things that make it different is the world, ice as a new element and low gravity/no oxygen that gives you new ways to approach combat and build your character.

A fun, fast paced action shooter. It shows how Jack went from semi-heroic to villainous. It is a good follow-on game from Borderlands 2. There is less add-on content than in Borderlands 2. The game runs out of memory playing it at 4k. I had to screen-cap it at 72 fps to get it to be reliable. I had to do the same thing with Borderlands 2.

I definitely feel like this game is underrated & deserves a lot more recognition as I've seen many people praising bl1 but not tps which pales in comparison to this.

The gameplay & story is good with memorable cast & the 1 & only Handsome Jack who's fall from grace is quite evidently depicted as a hero who refused to kill a close ally who betrayed him in the beginning to a villain who decided to kill a bunch of scientists to be safe from future betrayals

Borderlans: The Pre-sequel, probably the best game for Borderlands, standalone, manages an addictive shooter-looter game with a vast variety of content and somewhat an entertaining plot, which the other games didn't manage to. The only problem it has is Lilith, a bad-written character that just earns the hate of most who interact with her. The game is an 8.5/10.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

This part of the story is set between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, where the three former Vault Hunters Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai interrogate Athena after having captured her from the Atlas Domes. Athena then recounts her story about helping Handsome Jack with three other vault hunters. But they witness him slowly transforming into a ruthless tyrant murderer, to the man he is in Borderlands 2

If you enjoyed the first and second Borderlands, you will most likely enjoy The Pre-Sequel as well. Other than low gravity and limited air gimmicks, it's pretty much the same as Borderlands 2 but you're on Jacks side. There's a lot less story in this one but if you're into the Borderlands storyline I would buy this game without any hesitation... besides, the humour is amazing!

So many laughs to be made if you're playing with friends 8.5/10 rating, i'm expecting more from this story!

I don't consider myself a fan of the Borderlands games but I do proper love playing them. After playing 1, 2 I played the PS and I think this is my favourite one yet. I'm not going to try and say why objectively this is better than 2 I'll just attempt to explain why I personally had more fun with this game. In terms of gameplay it's easily the best of the 3. No matter how much slander I hear or read about this game online I cannot change how much genuine fun I was having playing this.

Personally, the first games environments felt flat and empty, yes it's a wasteland but it wasn't that engaging. The second game brought a lot of variety, refinement and better abilities but personally I couldn't enjoy it's opening hour or so in the snow regions. It was slow, but boy did it pick up. What 2 has over the PS is characters and it feels very "DLC" like considering the most likable character again is Jack because Zarpedon is a whatever character. What did it for me more was the Australian characters, for me, it's the first time I've seen Australian culture, slangs and accents being added to media and not being completely butchered, it was executed phenomenally. I sat there realising that no one would understand some of the sentences except for fellow Aussies, which is a refreshing switch up considering whenever I hear in a game someone for instance say "oh so you're from (insert any of the 50 states)" I have no clue what that references/means at all.

Gameplay wise this takes the cake for me. Gunplay, killing stuff and movement are king to me, and I cannot really explain why but I had the most fun playing this and cannot say I prefered playing 1 or 2 over this. Which is why I rate this slightly above the others. The oxygen mechanic is easily forgotten about but as broken as traversing the map can be, low gravity was fun to float around in. I like the idea of the airborne damage/movement increase oz kits because I like to jump and shoot a lot. It's like I finally got to put my playstyle to full effect. Combining it with elemental ground pounds like come on, it's got the most variety killing stuff. Also best final boss fight. 1 was underwhelming and too easy, 2 had "the lava is rising!!!" which did it ever? Still to this day don't know what that was about but the PS actually had a lava is rising mechanic you had to avoid in a small arena which made things difficult. Once again, PS takes it for me.

Maybe all the criticism is valid about a non existent new game +, who knows I just beat the game, I know for a fact the characters are better in 2 compared to this but it still doesn't change how I felt about the gameplay, this just plays better and I don't know why I had a way better time playing this over the others and I'm deeply sorry for my opinion borderlands fans.
