Positives! After playing Mirage, this game felt like crack. The control over your parkour, being able to implement your own strategies without relying on a stupid token system or your hawk-drone, providing quick traversal via the grappling hook and, ironically, it's refreshing to be in a more modern setting. The crafting system is engaging and gives you a reason to actually try and get collectibles, the customisation options are plentiful (although some outfits are a bit overpowered), and the grappling hook is a great addition that makes planning moves or getaways a lot more enjoyable.
London looks amazing with some incredible views. Even something simple like watching day turn to night and the lights slowly flicker on in people's houses, or getting into a fight in the slums and having people slam their shutters closed, or police patrolling who will investigate suddenly appearing corpses, the city feels like a real and lived in place. Maze-like alleys, building interiors, big open rooftops to run across, the river, and different city district environments provide plenty of variety. The rain, the sound of carriages trundling past, your footsteps on different types of panelling or pavement, or the boats on the water...wonderful.
The river is an entire gameplay section on its own. Offering you the ability to make your own path, your own decisions, and organically get involved with basically whatever you want. Little events that popup around town like robberies, stealth killing messengers, and helping your allies or civilians are simple, but offer a little bit of variety and interest while you're just running around rooftops. About 90% of my enjoyment in this game came from just moving around the map getting collectibles. Movement just feels so satisfying and freeing, and the game doesn't lock much away from you after the prologue outside of a couple of chests, so you're free to go pretty much wherever. Wanna break into Buckingham Palace for no real reason? Go for it. Wanna climb Big Ben again? Knock yourself out. Wanna knock people off their boats while you freerun in the canal? Godspeed. There are also little challenges for doing different types of kills that, while not exactly stimulating stuff, encouraged me to approach some scenarios differently.
Doing this provides you with skills and equipment. The upgrade options throughout the game are great. You have your gangs which have their upgrades, then for different carriages, then for shops, then for income, then for each piece of equipment, your tools have schematics you can collect to upgrade, THEN you have your skills which are usually all interesting enough to make you think while planning out a path. It's a lot, but they all feed into the main gameplay loop and I found them really satisfying.
The gang system feels like a natural evolution from the original assassin brotherhood one, except now you're hiding behind the veil of being a mob boss. It feels great turning all the red to blue, seeing more of your gang out on the streets, and how they will back you up. While the mission design usually discourages sending your gang in to wreck havoc, it's hard to resist sometimes perching on a rooftop and directing them into a child labour factory to have them fist fight everyone.
Negatives!
Mission design is bloody diabolical. Actual dogshit. They are ALL horrifically awful, and I never, ever got any enjoyment out of any of them. Clunky, boring, no throughline, and with garbage writing and directing. The main story sucks, which is impressive as it barely exists, and it feels so pointless and tedious. There are no arcs, there is no satisfying relationship between any characters, even in their own missions there are no good conclusions, Jacob seems like they wanted to make him a charismatic rogue character but instead made a completely unlikeable prick, meanwhile Evie exists so you can play as someone who ISN'T Jacob. Evie has the least grating mission dialogue, and also the closest either of them get to having proper character motivations. Swapping between them on the fly is weirdly incredible design, but I think they wanted to make the two characters feel more different than they actually DO. Both are pretty much exactly the same, with mostly the same skill trees, meaning it doesn't really matter who you pick for what.
The combat and the camera. My God. Combat, while not AWFUL, feels janky and the camera just exists to feel like you're fighting an impossible force as it constantly wrestles control away from you to focus on NOTHING. The finishers are cool, but that's about it. Also the carriages feel terrible, slow as they are, and the hijack system is more a matter of luck than skill.
But considering this game is a decade old, and how it's more impressive and engaging gameplay-wise than some of the current AC games, I can't help but be fond of it. Better to screw up while trying than be stuck in the same dull rhythm forever.
God Save the Queen.

I really expected to hate this game. From the moment I launched AC: Syndicate I thought it looked visually boring and I thought the characters weren't believable... but I was so very wrong. I am very glad I decided to stick to this game and really give it a chance, because by the end of it I loved the story, the setting, and most importantly, the characters. Jacob and Evie take a little time to get fun, as they are semi-standoffish, but by the end I found myself audibly laughing at Jacob's jokes and Evie's cleverness.
The actual gameplay itself was also an incredible step up from AC: Unity, not just with the obvious (but awesome) zipline mechanic, but the game UI was far cleaner, parkour was cleaner, and the map was also actually enjoyable to look at. The music was also very well written, having a chipper or dark tone when necessary.
The only gripes I can think of with this game are as follows:
1. Ned Wynert's missions were boring and repetitive.
2. There are only so many times you can look at the same Big Ben loading screen and think it's pretty.
3. There are a few kinks in combat that detract from the fun of fighting a bunch of enemies at once.
4. Obligatory "Karl Marx and Charles Darwin were totally unbelievable" complaint.
Overall, an 8.75/10, would recommend.
TL;DR: Give this game the chance to blow your expectations out of the water and you won't be disappointed. The gameplay is awesome, the characters are fun, and the story is classic.

Story was very bad and uncreative both characters are dull and shallow and rarely even talk outside cutscenes A LETTER FOR ME? line I heard over 200 times, final boss fight boring and repetetive, Had 15 Mission Unpassable Bugs needed to restart them from 0! Carriage and AI Driving is just abysmal. Yeah city is great looking but 99% its just copy pasted textures, Parkour is unintuitive, the grippler the zippy thingy is soooooo slow, AI Enemies can shoot you from 1000 meters through 3 blocks if you dont press that "F". Just a very bad experiance I had with this game and dont understand that glazing it gets from fans.Updated 1 Month Ago

The story was fairly bland for most of the runtime, and the character are also extremely shallow. The game severely suffers from the heads at Ubisoft not wanting a game as buggy as Unity was, but wanted to keep their yearly release schedule so they dumbed down a lot of systems from Unity and the game is worse for it. The grappling hook makes parkour and most outdoors stealth encounters trivial, as you just press the same 3 or 4 buttons repeatedly to get through them, and the same could be said for the combat system. I also frequently suffered from a lighting bug that caused a strobing effect that gave me headaches.Updated 2.5 Months Ago

I thought for long on whether to give this game a thumbs down or not. Ultimately though, I came to the conclusion that I just would not recommend this game to someone. While I did get some enjoyment out of it, the game is mired in issues all too familiar to Assassin's Creed games of this era. The repetitive loop of entering enemy strongholds and fulfilling mundane challenges as you mow through enemies grew tiresome quickly and is completely unrewarding. By the end of the game, I ended up rushing through the story just to get it over with, even as hundreds of meaningless icons littered my map.Updated 3 Months Ago

Porém as missões envolvendo a solução de crimes eu achei bem legais, me entreti nelas. Joguei o DLC Jack the Ripper também.

Hra má své mouchy, ale omáčkou, humorem, postavami, propojeností a hlavně nenuceností do ničeho, to zkrátka tvoří něco, u čeho hodně rád setrvávám.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=GameArchiveofAngelDerring&set=a.122110799300899186

Not gonna give this one a proper long review because a) it's been too long since I played it so it's not fresh enough in my mind and b) I technically never finished it, but I did enjoy this one. The oppressive and mechanical atmosphere of London was amazing, I enjoyed the characters (very fond of Jacob's rogueish humour and I was genuinely interested in his little sub-plot with Maxwell Roth), and the gameplay was as fun as Assassin's Creed usually is; I could happily spend an hour just parkouring around the city as always. Also loved the concept of your base being in a moving train.Said gameplay was more engaging than the main plot for me, which is probably why I never completed it - I'm more of a story-driven gamer than a gameplay-oriented one. Maybe I'll get back to it someday, but I'm not planning on it.

+ первая игра, где ты можешь играть за двух персонажей. Мне это зашло. Динамика отношений между Джейкобом и Иви — это приятное изменение темпа для главных героев AС. Баланс между шутками и расслабленным отношением Джейкоба и более спокойной, решительной натурой Иви освежает;
+ больше всего мне понравилась в этой игре озвучка и то, как персонажи реагировали на определенные вещи;
+ атмосфера Лондона кажется живой и оживленной. Это не самая большая карта, но она плотная, с множеством деталей и соответствует эпохе. Город полон жизни с людьми, экипажами и животными повсюду;
+ творческие миссии убийств: конечно, вы можете просто метнуть нож в свою цель и двигаться дальше, но игра дает вам достаточно возможностей, чтобы вы чувствовали себя умным, когда вы проворачиваете сложное убийство с несколькими дополнительными целями, которые стоят времени, потраченного на получение новых сцен;
- ранние трудности игры: первые несколько часов похожи на блуждание по туманному лабиринту;
- повозка. Хотя это забавная идея, сама идея не совсем приземляется. Повозка помогает пересекать карту, но создается ощущение, что я еду в бамперной машинке. Система тарана смешна, а разворот ужасен;

Updated 8 Months Ago

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – Review (75/100)Assassin’s Creed Syndicate brings the series to the industrial age, delivering a lively and detailed recreation of Victorian London. With its dual protagonists, fast-paced combat, and the addition of new traversal tools like the grappling hook, it offers a fresh take on the Assassin’s Creed formula. However, despite its strengths, Syndicate struggles with a lackluster story, underdeveloped mechanics, and a sense of franchise fatigue following yearly releases.
The Pros:
Beautiful Victorian London:
The game’s recreation of 1868 London is stunning, with a great attention to detail in its architecture, bustling streets, and historical figures. The atmosphere captures the industrial revolution perfectly.
Dual Protagonists – Jacob & Evie Frye:
The ability to switch between two main characters adds variety. Evie offers a more traditional assassin approach with stealth-focused gameplay, while Jacob leans into a brawler-style combat, providing different ways to tackle missions.
Fluid & Brutal Combat:
The hand-to-hand combat is fast and satisfying, emphasizing brutal takedowns and gang fights, fitting the rough-and-tumble nature of London’s underworld.
Gang Warfare System:
The ability to take over districts and lead the Rooks against rival gangs adds an engaging layer to the open-world activities, making London feel more dynamic.
Historical Cameos & World-Building:
The game features well-integrated historical figures like Charles Dickens, Karl Marx, and Alexander Graham Bell, who contribute to side missions and world-building.
Train Hideout & Carriage Chases:
The moving train hideout is a unique feature, and carriage chases add a fresh element to the series’ usual rooftop pursuits.
The Consç
Weak Main Story & Villain:
The narrative lacks the emotional depth and intrigue of earlier titles. The central villain, Crawford Starrick, is forgettable, and the story fails to deliver the same weight as previous Assassin vs. Templar conflicts.
Repetitive Mission Design:
Many missions follow the same structure—take out a target, free hostages, or conquer a gang stronghold. While fun at first, the repetition sets in quickly.
Underdeveloped RPG & Progression:
The skill tree and leveling system feel basic compared to later RPG entries, offering little incentive for varied playstyles.
Limited Stealth Mechanics:
While Evie is marketed as the stealthier of the two, Syndicate doesn’t do much to enhance stealth gameplay. Enemy AI is inconsistent, and stealth often feels secondary to direct combat.
Carriage & Police AI Issues:
Horse-drawn carriages are fun but handle awkwardly, and the police AI is inconsistent—either too aggressive or completely oblivious.
Bland Open-World Activities:
Side content, while plentiful, often feels like filler, with tasks that lack the depth and storytelling of past Assassin’s Creed games.
Minimal Modern-Day Storyline:
The present-day segments are almost nonexistent, making it feel disconnected from the overarching Assassin’s Creed narrative.
Grappling Hook Makes Parkour Unnecessary:
The grappling hook, while useful for speeding up traversal, ends up diminishing one of the series’ core mechanics—parkour. Instead of carefully navigating rooftops and planning routes, players can simply zip to the top of buildings instantly, making climbing and freerunning feel obsolete. This removes much of the challenge and satisfaction that came from mastering parkour in earlier games.
Forgettable Side Characters:
Outside of Jacob and Evie, most supporting characters fail to leave a lasting impression. Even historical figures, while interesting, feel more like cameos than meaningful additions to the story.
Shallow Gang System:
The idea of gang wars is promising, but it lacks depth. Taking over districts quickly becomes repetitive, and rival gang leaders have little personality or presence in the story.
Final Thoughts:
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is an enjoyable yet flawed entry in the series. Its lively depiction of Victorian London, fun traversal mechanics, and brutal combat make it a solid open-world game. However, repetitive mission design, a forgettable story, and underdeveloped mechanics hold it back from greatness. It’s a good time, but it lacks the magic of the franchise’s best entries.
Final Verdict: 75/100. A fun but forgettable Assassin’s Creed that offers enjoyable gameplay but lacks depth and innovation.

Updated 8.5 Months Ago

I purchased this game because the developers released a 60 FPS patch on the Xbox Series X. This was my first Assassins Creed game and I went in not knowing anything about the series or lore. I played this game from start to finish while doing a decent amount of the side quests and enjoyed my time with it but I do think that what holds it back is how clunky it can be at times. The biggest source of frustration for me with this game was the controls, specifically when you are running. Sometimes it feels like the Architecture of the buildings are designed to slow your movement down when you just want to go somewhere or escape from a conflict, I found my character often not jumping down when and where I wanted them to often and sometimes when I was moving quickly and wanted to jump into the window of a building my character would move passed it and climb up to the next ledge instead of going into the damn window and that was really annoying. The fighting is simple and easy to master but often also frustrating for a few reasons, the first is when you get ganged up on by multiple enemies because it can be easy for them to kill you and it will feel cheap. I found the gun play and shooting to be something I wrestled with and became frustrated with the entire game when it came to reloading (slow and unresponsive to execute a reload at times), and when it came to making precise quick shots because at times it felt like there was a delay in when I pushed the button to shoo the gun and when the character would do it, the animation was slow to move the character from finishing whatever punch or jump he was doing to shooting, slower than you want, especially during a gun fight. Despite these annoyances in game play I thought the graphics and 60 FPS patch made it enjoyable overall and made me interested enough in the franchise to give another one of them games in the series a play through. The last thing I want to mention is the story, I found it to be pretty bad and I didn't understand why the two main protagonists (a brother and sister Assassin) find themselves angry at each other like spoiled school children, they are overall likeable but the way they bicker with each other as siblings is immature and took a lot of joy from the story because it felt like they weren't taking their tasks and the story seriously even though they were dealing with big consequences. The story for me was half baked at its best and I thought most of the side quests that I played were more interesting than the main story, the final boss was a cheap and easy battle where they over powered him for the sake of extending the playtime. Overall I enjoyed the game enough to want to play another Assassins Creed game but will do some research to search for the ones with the best game play and story.Updated 8.5 Months Ago

Similarly to AC Unity this one is once again unplayable due to constant crashes and BSODs. Though I have experienced that the game is way more solid than Unity, as in no gamebreaking bugs or glitches besides the crashes. Otherwise seems like a fun game, with a different more brawler approach to the combat and very interesting Victorian Era England. I'd love to play the game but it seems like on PC it is close to impossible because it's mainly dependent on your luck and this isn't only my experience, I cannot give a better rating since it literally is unplayable even after 10 years. Maybe it's different on PlayStation, I may try that, but then I'd have to buy the game again, and refund isn't an option on Ubisoft Connect since I played more than 2 hrs overall with multiple tries.Updated 9.5 Months Ago

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate Review – A Stroll Through Victorian London (With a Few Stumbles)Rating: 8.0/10
Coming to this review a bit late, but better late than... never, I guess. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is like that friend who always shows up at the party but doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Sure, it’s got familiar charm, but you won’t exactly be reminiscing about it after. Some parts are fun, some are forgettable, and other times the pacing feels like you’re escorting a turtle through a Victorian-era marathon. It's a game that wasn't rated high when it came out and while it has flaws, it doesn't deserve the mud that was thrown at it.
Pros: "The Eagle Soars"
+ Addicting, Familiar Gameplay: If you’ve played any of the other 472 Assassin’s Creed games, this one fits right in. I’ve slowly made my way through the library, and while Syndicate doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it’s a comfortable, familiar romp.
+ Evie’s Character Depth: Evie Frye is the real hero here—calculated, driven, and with a purpose that makes her story a lot more engaging. You’ll actually care about what she’s doing. She doesn't get as much face time as I'd like as she has to share the spotlight with her brother but she probably should have been the main protagonist. Sometimes she can be a bit of a downer whenever she's lecturing her brother but he does deserve it
+ Grappling Hook for the Win: Feeling like Victorian Batman as you zip around rooftops? Yes, please. It helps when getting around this wide map and makes traversing a bit more fun
+ Beautiful Setting: London’s atmosphere feels alive and bustling. It’s not the biggest map, but it’s dense, lively with detail and feels true to the era. The city is full of life with people, carriages, and animals all around. It's large enough without feeling almost impossible to traverse like some of the other AC games like Odyssey
+ Great Voice Acting: The cast does a solid job, and the accents aren’t cringeworthy, so that’s a win.
+ Creative Assassinations Missions: Sure, you could just toss a knife at your target and move on, but the game gives you enough options to make you feel clever when you pull off an elaborate kill with multiple optional objectives that are worth the time to get new scenes
Cons: "The Templar’s Misstep"
– Disjointed Story: The storyline feels like it was written on the back of a napkin. You jump between missions, but the plot doesn’t drive the experience the way it should. In a sandbox game, this is a big miss. The main antagonist is forgettable and at times I'm wondering why he's the villain outside of everyone telling me he is
– Clunky Controls: When the ‘B’ button decides it wants to be a multitasker, you’re in for some frustrating moments. Nothing like trying to fight, interact, and climb all at once… and failing.
– Jacob the Brute: Brother Jacob’s character is about as deep as a kiddie pool. His motivation? Punch things. That’s it. You’ll find yourself sticking with Evie just for some mental stimulation.
– Button Mashing Combat: The combat feels like a mindless hack-fest. Press X until your thumb hurts, with a few counters and breakers, and you’ve basically mastered it.
– Early Game Struggles: The first few hours are like wandering through a foggy maze. The game doesn’t find its footing until later on
- GTA Carriage. While a fun idea, the idea itself doesn't quite land. The carriage helps with traversing the map but it feels like i'm riding in a bumper car. The ramming system is comical to see and a U-turn becomes a 5 point turn.
- Customization. With all of the upgrades, outfits, items, why is this a negative? Some outfits are just far superior with their modifiers to use anything else really. Why ditch the classic white AC outfit for something more unique when i get more of every item in my toolbelt? Why upgrade a cool knife when there's another knife I can unlock that is already better? Feels a bit nitpicky now that I write this but it was something I realized after getting to the midgame and i found myself sporting the same outfit for most of the game
- Side Missions. After doing a few of them, it's wash, rinse, repeat and I got to a point of ignoring them since it was predictable and a time sink. Completionists will have to grind to finish all of these
Neutral: "The Middle Ground Shuffle"
+/- The Slog of Traversing London: While the world is visually beautiful, moving through it can feel like a chore. Even with the grappling hook, there’s a certain sluggishness that drags the pacing.
+/- Batman's utility beat. Coudn't decide if this was a pro or con so decided to put it down the road. Some skills and items are OP: hallucination darts, chameleon skill, smoke grenade, etc make this game a breeze to go through but they are fun to use.

one of the better assassin's creed games i've played yet; but also one of the least interesting stories yet. the dynamic of the frye twins was fun to watch as they start off well but start to drift throughout the story due to different personalities and methods. i did not care for the side characters at all tho; with the exception of the mob boss of chapter 8.Updated 10.5 Months Ago

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate• First time playing
• This is the last Assassin’s Creed game I plan on playing.
• I remember when I first saw this game; my brother-in-law was playing it, and we were recording it. This was when I first got my elgato and was using it for practice.
• Even back then, I thought it looked boring and the only fun I had was when I could change the color grading and saturation in real time on elgato.
• Oh boy, I have not been looking forward to this, but it’s on the list because I bought it at some point for some godforsaken reason.
• Well, I’ll say this; at least there’s an attempt to try to fix the free running parkour by letting you hold X to climb up and O to climb down. It’s literally just one button difference and it’s done automatically, but it’s something.
• I have an idea. What if I just leave the game on overnight? Just so it can reach the average amount of hours for it to be believable that I played it. Would that count?
• I have finished it at this point and can say with full confidence that this was the worst assassin’s creed I have ever played.
• At best, it’s reached the dizzying heights of boring. At worst, it’s a wrongheaded, poorly realized mess with some of the worst writing in the series.
• I can hardly even figure out what even was the intended vision other than just making another assassin’s creed game.
• The only artistic vision I can see is that a bunch of French Canadians watched a bunch of Guy Ritchie movies, in particular the Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movies, and thought that would make for a great game.
• I hate Jacob Frye. He’s a quippy, self-impressed prick. Everything he said was either a cliché joke I guessed correctly before he even said it or something that made my eyes roll.
• He just can’t pull his head out of his ass to give a shit about anything, and when other characters took offense by him, it wasn’t for his stupid quips, so I think the writers intended for us to not think he talked like a dick.
• Evie Fyre is alright, but she falls into the “responsible sister” writing trope of essentially acting as a second mom for her man-baby sibling.
• I wished I had more to say. I literally just listed off every thought or bit of background I have with this game. For how much time I wasted on this and how annoyed I am, I’m left little much to say but that it was shit.
• What a boring way to spend 30 hours. I should’ve just played Black Flag again.
• At least I don’t have to play any other Assassin’s Creed games. Go me.

Satisfying but sometimes repetitive combat. Two very likeable protagonists that genuinely feel like siblings and all conversations in this game feel so fluid and real. London feels so alive in this game and there are so many incredible details. The story is enjoyable but not anything that's gonna keep me thinking about it for a long time or anything. Overall, I do think this game is very underrated and I'd definitely recommend!Updated 11 Months Ago

⭐️Riding the carriages (Despite the bugs).
⭐️Heists! (Trains, Carriages and boats).
THE UNIQUES:
💎1800 British era.
💎Well thought out characters, fiction and non-fiction.
💎London layout.
PLAYER GAMING REQUIREMENTS:
💼Assassin's.
💼History.
💼Parkour.
VERDICT:
Being a British fellow myself, I found this game very relatable when it came to London itself. Most things were in the right place, with the atmosphere being how I would picture it back in the 1800 (Aside from Assassin's running around). The story didn't live up to some of the other Assassin's Creeds but the gameplay was very smooth and adding my new favourite gimmick (The Zipline) gave it a more fresh approach.
What I enjoyed the most out of this game would be the voice acting and how the characters reacted to certain things, just walking across the street was entertaining! This is the closest they get to the modern era and i'm very relieved that they stopped it here... in London.
Total Score = 81/100.

Assassin's Creed franchise, DEATHLOOP.
GAMEPLAY:
It is the ninth major instalment in the Assassin's Creed series, and the successor to 2014's Assassin's Creed Unity.
The plot follows the premise of the Assassin's Creed franchise, involving a fictional history of real-world events where a secret war has been fought for centuries between two factions: the Brotherhood of Assassins, who promote peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control. The framing story is set in the 21st century and follows the same unnamed and unseen protagonist from Assassin's Creed Unity, who assists the Assassins in their race against the Templars to find an artefact hidden in London. The main story is set in London in 1868, at the onset of the Second Industrial Revolution, and follows twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they navigate the corridors of organised crime and take back the city from Templar control.
The game is played from a third-person perspective and its open world is navigated on foot or by carriage. The game introduces new travelling systems and refined combat and stealth mechanics. Players control the two lead protagonists throughout the game's story, switching between them both during and outside of missions
