Dark Theme Has Arrived

Hello everyone!

Dark theme has been added to the site. You can find it in your general options.

You'll notice some small changes to the normal theme as well. This is to keep the 2 styles consistent and easy to maintain in the future.

Let me know what you think and if you find any weird visual things.

Thanks very much for doing this. I have dry-eye syndrome and a plethora of other visual abnormalities, and the dark theme is much, much easier on my eyes. It just looks cool too. :)

So far I haven't noticed any bugs. If I do, I'll be sure to point them out.

I've noticed a couple of things:
- The "details" button on the backlog page looks weird
- When I hover the mouse over the quick access menu the only section that doesn't light up on it's corresponding color is "Replays"

Are you referring to this button?
If so, I have corrected the transparency but the imaged may be cached. Should clear itself soon.

I was hoping for the dark theme to be back some day, so thanks for bringing it back.

Tried to look around a bit and so far nothing seems to be broken or out of place. So looking good!

The general settings says my email is wrong (it shows my username rather than my email) and when I try to change it and hit save it just goes back to my username and says "Partial Save, Check Error!" though that message may be because it also tells me I didn't put in my password twice, but I'm not trying to change my password.

FWIW, I liked the old theme. It had a good contrast between light and dark, whereas the new themes go all-in. The light theme has more white and the dark theme isn't as hard on the eyes, but it's just various shades of gray. This also makes the all color look out of place. That orange banner above is like a smack to the face. I know it's probably not worth the effort to bring the old one back as an option, but you have my opinion now. I mean no offense - this style certainly seems in vogue, so I don't blame you for giving people what they want :)

Go into your profile options and you can choose which theme to use :)

Is your browser auto filling the e-mail field with your username? This part of the code wasn't changed.

Autocomplete is also set to off so it shouldn't do this but it may depend on the browser.

Did a little more tweaking. Brightened up some regular text on dark mode and added back some color to headers.

I agree with GamerAim regarding the bright header colours... that orange is blinding amongst the darkness!

Otherwise, it’s good to have a choice.

Generally I prefer using light themes as I don’t like white body text on dark backgrounds - it sort of feels ‘unnatural’.

I tend to have my iPhone (which I use most to look at the site) permanently in warmer Night Shift mode with low brightness to prevent eye stain, but I’m giving Dark Mode a go to test it out for you.

I really like dark themes, the only one that is sticking out on the dark theme that doesn't have much affect for the white is the big pink/violet banner on profiles.

It might help to not change the colors that stick out but try a darker versions of the same colors

On my mobile, when looking at the recent games, the checks on completed games is too dark in my opinion. Should be lighter than that. It looks fine in my desktop computer with Firefox but on Safari on my iPod Touch it looks like the picture below.

Sticking with the light theme personally (represent), glad everyone is happy with the dark option though!

iOS overrides html character colors. I know Edge does too (makes them green).

I've also made some adjustments to game, user and submit page headers for dark mode.

Thanks for making the changes to add more color back to the light theme :) It looks real snazzy now!

Yeah profile page looks abit beter without the pink/violet standing out too much thx
