Is anyone else voting this year?

I've never voted before but thought it would be kind of fun.

It appears that Alan Wake II is my Game of the Year because I voted for it in most categories it was nominated.

My guess for GOTY is Baldur's Gate 3.

I've hardly played anything that came out this year, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Mario Wonder for GotY. As good as it seems to be I wasn't sure if it'd make it being a 2D platformer. I'm also happy Sea of Stars is in best rpg and best indie. I haven't played it yet, but greatly looking forward to it.

I had a hard time deciding... I love Baldur's Gate 3, but I think Alan Wake 2 is fantastic too, and so is Resident Evil 4. That mixed with some other great releases make this year a very challenging year (we've been spoiled!!)

First time voting in these for me as well - honestly I was surprised that you had to choose from the limited nominees and not just vote on any game you want to vote for. I ended up skipping a bunch of categories because I had no idea about any of the nominees, even though I had other titles I would have voted for.

I'm guessing BG3 is going to win a lot of awards this year as well - and it's certainly up there - but I would have preferred some other titles available for GOTY.

Same. I thought my vote was going for Resident Evil 4 or TotK, but Alan Wake II really surprised me.

Baldur's Gate III will probably win, but I'm just glad to play all these great games this year.

They should've added a worst game of the year category 😂. From Gollum to Redfall and that King Kong game lol.

I believe that BG3 should be the Game of the Year because, even though The Legend of Zelda (TLOZ) is an excellent game, it follows a familiar formula and has had many iterations. On the other hand, BG3 has revitalized the C-RPG genre by bringing something fresh and new.

1. BALDUR’S GATE 3
2. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
3. Super Mario Bros. Wonder
4. Resident Evil 4
5. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
6. Alan Wake 2

The only one ive played out of them is TOTK so I guess ill lobby for that one. lol. I buy games once a week based off a randomizer on my wishlist on the Gameye app and pick what im going to play next by using the randomizer button on my backlog on here. There only time I dont randomize is when I really am looking forward to a game like FFXVI and TOTK. Ill be bypassing the randomizer for Rebirth when that arrives.

My game of the year, Slay the Princess, is unfortunately not a candidate. But Baldur's Gate 3 is certainly my runner up 2nd place.

Kinda shocked it didn't even get Indie game mention. But as per usual with this Award show they are hosting it before the year's over. Which is frankly unfair to any title's (indie, middle market or AAA) not yet released.

its been a darn good year, althoug i havent played most of the candidates as per usual. my guess for GOTY is Tears of the Kingdom, and its my personal GOTY since its one of the only 2023 games ive played this year. seeing all the nominations it got makes me even more excited to check out Wonder whenever i can, along with spiderman 2 although that was kind of a given. overall a really great year for games, gonna try to actually watch this one live which i havent done in years!

I voted for Tears of the Kingdom and Viewfinder in all the categories I could. It pained me as a Sonic fan to not vote for Sonic Superstars as it was probably the worst in its category. The last few esports categories were just random selection. And I felt bad that I played none of the games in the impact category. I play no mobile or ongoing games or battle royales so they were random picks as well.

I voted for TotK as my GotY, although I was debating between that and Super Mario Wonder.

Some of these categories are odd with their selection. Dave the Diver isn't an indie game, the devs themselves have said as much. Pikmin 4 is in Best Family game for some reason.

I'm surprised there isn't a horror category this year. Dead Space, Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Dredge. It was a pretty good year for horror.

I usually don't buy games at full price but still, I usually play one or two of the GOTY nominees. This year will be the first time I didn't play any of them. So, I have no opinion.
But I want to say that remakes shouldn't be allowed in GOTY imo. Despite CAPCOM being masters at it and me being RE fan, I think it should only be allowed in other categories.

I believe BG 3 should take all the awards. Everyone I have spoken too says that game has been the best that they have played in a long time. Like Dungeons and Dragons with your friends.
