I just made the smart financial decision to buy a Sega Saturn, and now I need some games for the thing. Issue is, a lot of games on this console got pretty expensive around Covid. What are some good games on the Saturn that won't make my bank call me?
The only one I have right now is Daytona USA
The games already on my radar are Virtua Fighter 1 & 2, Virtua Cop, and Fighting Vipers.

Oof hard to find Saturn games that don't do that xD
Panzer Dragoon can be found for like 60 bucks give or take if thats to your liking, and I think the sequel is around that range as well. Fighters Megamix is cheaper at around 40 - 50 maybe, Nights into Dreams also. If you haven't played the first Tomb Raider then the Saturn version is on the cheaper side of things. Ghen War isn't great but it's very cheap for a Saturn title, Sega Rally, Pebble Beach Golf Links if youre into golf, and Impact Racing.
Can't think of anything else that's not gonna break you, but if you haven't looked into it yet I recommend you check out the Satiator or Saroo (it's way cheaper), it will cost you but it let's you play games off an SD card while keeping the disc drive.

I've actually been cataloging all the retro games I'm interested in playing for a few weeks now. Here are all the non-import titles I added to my list. I imagine importing might not be feasible which is why I left them off. I also didn't include any fighting games or beat-em-ups/shoot-em-ups as I'm not a fan of those genres so I'm not sure if there are any hidden gems there.
- Shining Force III
- Dragon Force
- Burning Rangers
- Magic Knight Rayearth
- Clockwork Knight 2 (the first game can be unlocked via a cheat code)
- Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean
- Astal
- The Legend of Oasis
- Dark Savior
- Bug!
- Blazing Heroes
- Enemy Zero

I've checked the prices for a couple of these in the past and can confirm they will in fact break your wallet xD. Shining Force goes for like 300+, Burning Rangers 100+, Legend of Oasis 150+, Magic Knight Rayearth I only ever found once for like 600+, and Astal was also around 100+. Not sure about others tho, since I haven't searched for them. Sadly all of those games are great and absolutely worth checking out when it comes to the Saturn's library

I guess I was looking at the prices for custom print blank CDs instead of the games themselves, my bad. So I don't know how much these games go for but they are worth playing if you can get them at reasonable prices.

Yeah most of them are in the $70-$100 range from what I've seen. Except Bug, that one's a reasonable price so it's on the list, and I'd probably just get the first Clockwork Knight since it's cheaper than the sequel.

Get Sonic R and NiGHTS into dreams

According to pricecharting, Nights costs $100 on average and Sonic R costs $180 on average which is pretty expensive. I'm more so looking for games that cost less than $60 on average.

We can only hope that Sega releases a Saturn mini (and Dreamcast). But that seems wishful thinking, as Sega's CEO has indicated he doesn't want to do so.
