Surprisingly big month for me. I feel like I didn't do much, but I beat 8 games and 5 DLCs.

7/7 Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide (PC-Steam): 5:06 6/10
7/14 Vampire Survivors (PC-Steam): 64:24 9/10
7/14 Vampire Survivors: Emergency Meeting DLC (PC-Steam): 4:30 7/10
7/15 Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Moonspell DLC (PC-Steam): 6:30 6/10
7/15 Vampire Survivors: Tides of the Foscari DLC (PC-Steam): 6:00 6/10
7/17 Vampire Survivors: Operation Guns DLC (PC-Steam): 6:00 7/10
7/18 Warhammer Vermintide II (PC-Steam): 6:48 7/10
7/19 Mouthwashing (PC-Steam): 1:59 7/10
7/28 XCOM: Enemy Uknown (Xbox 360): 24:02 9/10 - BEST
7/28 Daytona USA (Sega Saturn): 2:00 7/10
7/28 Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania DLC (PC-Steam): 26:42 8/10
7/30 Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? - Make the Grade (Wii): 1:42 5//10 - WORST
7/31 Soulcalibur II (Gamecube): 3:31 7/10

If you couldn't tell, I enjoy Vampire Survivors. I'm actually trying to 100% complete it. I still need to do Emerald Diorama and the rest of the base game achievements. I didn't have internet while I was playing through the story, so I couldn't look anything up online. It actually led to me having a much better experience. I liked experimenting and finding secrets on my own. Ode to Castlevania was what I spent around half the playtime on. Listen, Poncle, I know you like Castlevania, but did you really need to add every named character in the series? I ended up just using cheat codes for the secret characters once I was done with the unlocks.

Despite my playtime, it did not beat out XCOM: Enemy Unknown as my favorite this month. This game is so much fun, it's Fire Emblem with guns! It could sometimes get repetitive, but not often. I made Chavez from the tutorial a main character throughout the story, and he ended up being the volunteer at the end. I'm already itching to play Enemy Within or XCOM 2.

And of course, the worst game I played this month was Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? - Make the Grade. This is the third Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader game I've played on Wii, meaning I have finally finished the trilogy. I am once again asking, what kind of American 5th grader knows what the currency in Sweden is? Even some of the questions I did know the answers to like "Who did Botswana gain independence from in 1966" (it was the British) are not things I would ever expect an American 5th grader to learn. I'm emphasizing American since I'm fairly certain the show takes questions from US curriculums. I don't know what school is teaching this, definitely not any of the ones I went to But now that I've beaten the last of the three Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader games on Wii, I have finally defeated Jeff Foxworthy. May no man ever be quizzed by him again.

Code of Princess - PC July 19th, 2025
The Legend of Tianding - PC July 8th, 2025

Not many in this month since 13 Sentinels is the main project. Tianding was the favorite win of the two.

I actually had a surprise completion this month, I wasn't expecting to beat anything for quite a while.

07/16 - Growing Up (Main) - 7/10

Short version of the linked review: it was a good visual novel where you experience 18 years of a character's life learning new skills, going to school, working, and making friends. There are a few randomized characters you can meet at the school to befriend or ignore, and a lot of characters that can be met through the many story threads depending on what career path you want to follow. A lot of reading, with some Candy Crush-esque exam taking to break up the monotony. I only did one route so I kept it in my backlog to try out more at a later date.

I work 50 hours a week and have come across this site recently as a way to keep track of and do a sort of pseudo-analysis of the games I play.
Long hours means it takes me a while to finish games.

2 games this month!

Styx: Master of Shadows
Styx: Master of Shadows is definitely one of the games of all time.

I enjoyed the time I spent playing through this. The first half introduced several new mechanics and interesting, varied and explorable levels. The second half became a load of recycled levels played in reverse. It became a bit of a slog for me at this point. The saving grace for the repetition in the second half was the awesome save and load mechanic. Super quick load times meant that save scumming was easy enough when I wanted to brute force portions of the game.

The stealth is serviceable, although I think the movement mechanics left a LOT to be desired. I'd find myself trying to jump on something just to either climb up directly in front of an enemy or get stuck on a wall unexpectedly and drop in front of enemies. I enjoyed the fact that being spotted was disincentivized with a terrible combat system. This will likely frustrate a lot of more impatient stealth-gamers, it did me at some points, but it definitely encourages you to play methodically and avoid combat at all costs. The light mechanics and noise mechanics were welcome additions, too.

The story is decent and might have been the main part of this game to keep me hooked until finish. It's a bit crude but it is definitely an enjoyable backdrop to the levels you go through. It has a very decent plot twist in the middle of the game. The ending is satisfactory (save for the poor attempt at a boss fight).

Overall I'd give this game a solid 7/10. Not the worst game I've played, it became a slog towards the end but the story made up for it. It's got a massive heart for a game of this type. I'm definitely looking forward to playing the next in the series.

Hotline Miami
Top down style games usually aren't my thing - but I've had this sitting in my backlog and heard so many good things about it for so long I had to give it a go.

Initially, I found this game exceptionally hard as I fumbled with the controls in a strange perspective I usually avoid. After getting the hang of the controls, however, I understood what the hype was about. This game is best played at a fast pace and the less thinking you do the better. As you get further into a level and understand the enemies' positioning and behaviour you clear levels out like a well-trained killing machine, racking up combo points and gory execution animations. It feels like a stereotypical teenage boys' wet dream of a game.

The story was very convoluted and I was struggling to wrap my head around it until near the end. When I got to this point, everything clicked. Well not everything. The story is not made to be easily followed and read. It relies heavily on the "unreliable narrator," something I was not expecting from an indie game. If you're a fan of games as an art medium, you will enjoy this game's story.

Overall, I'd give it a 8.5/10. If there's any more patient gamers out there waiting to pull the trigger, I cannot recommend this game enough.

This was another excellent month for me in terms of gaming. There was really only one dud but I managed to get 4 Games Completed here.

Doom: Legacy of Rust - PC, 07/06, 7/10
Painkiller: Hell and Damnation - PC, 07/09, 6.5/10
Metroid: Zero Mission - GBA/NSO, 07/16, 8/10
BRUTAL JOHN 2 (Early Access) - PC, 07/25, 9/10 - BEST

The only game that wasn't really worth it was Painkiller: Hell and Damnation. I thought the OG Painkiller was a decent game back in the day but this remake says otherwise. I don't know however if this is the remake's fault because I don't remember Painkiller playing so badly. Bunny Hopping is clumsy and the game plays worse than many of it's contemporaries even during the time the remake came out. Serious Sam 3: BFE plays so much better than this game. The only thing it has going for it is that it removed a lot of the fat Painkiller Black had since I remember it being a very bloated in game in general. I don't have much to say here.

I finished playing Classic Doom with Legacy of Rust. It's yet another unremarkable MachineGames expansion and to be honest, I have a hard time even believing Machine Games are great developers. Wolfenstein: The New Order left a bad taste in my mouth and the expansions for Quake and Quake II they did are barely memorable in their own way and are WAY behind what other people are doing with those games. While this isn't a bad WAD it's certainly more frustrating than other Doom WADs I've played. It certainly gets better the more you progress but yet again, this is fine but these classic franchises deserve more than just "Fine" expansions.

I also played Metroid: Zero Mission this month and it was VERY good. How you progress in the game is mainly excellent and the improvements taken from other Metroid games are apparent as well. It looks amazing and the music is very good. The last part of the game as Zero Suit Samus is the biggest highlight for me. It's intense, well paced and feels very rewarding. I hated the Mother Brain fight and getting rid of the Metroids and there is some stupid cryptic crap in there, but I had a very good time with this. I'm certainly going to play more in the series and some other Metroidvanias as well.

The winner this month is BRUTAL JOHN 2 (And if you're wondering where's Brutal John 1, BRUTAL JOHN 2 is Brutal John 1) just released in Early Access and is by far one of my favorite FPS Games to come out in a long time. It's a much better playing Duke Nukem 3D with great humor and hilarious characters and a batshit insane story about Crypto Mining Mutants taking over the world. Gunplay is extremely satisfying and the cameos and jokes are aplenty. It looks really good with it's pixel texture filtering and the levels are extremely entertaining. I found myself overjoyed by this one and I seriously hope they can make the December Deadline for release and not fall into a lack of transparency and updates like so many of these FPS Developers do nowadays. This has BIG promise and I can't wait to play more.

The other games I'm playing right now are Batman Begins on PS2 which is one of the best looking 6th Generation games I've ever played and I also started Chrono Trigger which I'm really excited to keep going with. I hope next month is just as good for completions.

2025-07-09 - "Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Forges Of Corruption"

I beat the DLC for Boltgun in July. It's more of the same of what the base game offers with a surprising difficulty peak in the last level. I'm happy I still managed to beat it. It's a good DLC.

Happy gaming in August, everyone!

I beat a ton of games this month, 14 games, more than I ever have in a month I believe. Mostly because I played some shorter games, and because of timing.

Date: Game - Rating
Jul 1: Mass Effect: Andromeda - 6/10
Jul 6: Final Fantasy IV - 9/10
Jul 7: HuniePop - 8/10
Jul 7: Half-Life - 5/10
Jul 12: Half-Life 2 - 8/10
Jul 13: Half-Life 2: Episode One - 6/10
Jul 14: Half-Life 2: Episode Two - 7/10
Jul 16: Celeste Classic - 8/10
Jul 18: Saints Row (2006) - 6/10
Jul 20: Final Fantasy V - 8.5/10
Jul 25: Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) - 8/10
Jul 26: Saints Row 2 - 7.5/10
Jul 27: Balatro - 9/10
Jul 31: Final Fantasy VI - 9.5/10

The best game of July for me was Final Fantasy VI. I'm loving the Final Fantasy series right now and playing the pixel remaster for FF6 was a great experience. The story, combat, and everything is just awesome. Two other noteworthy games I played are Final Fantasy IV and Balatro. FF4 is a really cool game, extremely innovative for its time. And Balatro is great as well, I technically finished it a few months ago but I was grinding gold stake and everything for a bit. I would've given it a 10/10 but I just really hate gold stake, it's way too luck based and isn't fun. Everything else about the game is great.

The worst game I played, which is a bit of a hot take, is Half-Life. The game hasn't aged well whatsoever. The combat isn't enjoyable, the level designs are annoying. It's full of outdated game design and cheap shots, I was hardly able to get any enjoyment out of it. Maybe I'll pay Black Mesa some day, but I've had my fill of Half-Life games for a while. And some honorable mentions for worst game of the month are Mass Effect Andromeda, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, and Saints Row (2006). ME: Andromeda has great potential, the campaign is just insufferably boring. HL2 Episode 1 is just a massive downgrade from the base game. And Saints Row just hasn't aged well, the gameplay loop is not fun.

For August I'll be playing Final Fantasy VII, which I just started tonight and it's awesome so far. And I'll likely get to Final Fantasy VIII as well. I'll also be playing Saints Row 3 and however many Saints Row games I can get to. I'm also planning on playing more of Donkey Kong Bananza, it's an incredible game.

Beat 3 games this month, two of which were extremely short, so really I only beat one game. The only game I beat from the Itchmas in July was the first game Sewer Tales. I don't have much time these days and I would rather spend it on games I'm more interested in, so I'm not sure if I'll go through the other 9 Itchmas games. I might still consider playing SPÅRVAGN and The Dark Queen of Mortholme, since those two seemed the most interesting to me.

July 5th - Sewer Tales - 17m - 3/10 (100%) - Finished same day as started - Beat every enemy got every rat type.
July 7th - Hellhound's Trail - 18m - (100%) - Finished same day as started - Did both of the routes.
July 19th - New Super Mario Bros. - 16h 40m - 5/10 (100%) - Started July 13th - 6 Days Taken - Got 3 stars on save file by beating all levels, collecting all star coins and unlocking all secret exits.

The worst game I played this month is Sewer Tales. It's an RTS game where you play as a rat, however the nice art style is all it has going for it. The game doesn't have an ending, so there's no goal to work towards, which makes fighting enemies pointless.

The "best" game I played is New Super Mario Bros. (DS). It has more creativity in the worlds and levels than the other NSMB games, plus some decent enemy variety. However it's not enough to save it from the overall blandness of the game. The bosses were so forgettable that I had to remind myself what they were when writing my review.

Didn't manage to beat Deltarune this month either because I was on vacation for most of it during which I couldn't play the game. Hopefully this month will finally be the month I finish it. Still planning to finish my Shadows of Doubt replay afterwards. After those two, I have something planned for my next game, as long as no other games get in the way.

July has been quite a nostalgic month:

- Inazuma Eleven 2 [Replay] - NDS - 18/07 - 54:51 h
- Ryse: Son of Rome - SeriesX - 21/07 - 5:50 h
- Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box - NDS [Emulated] - 22/07 - 14:24 h
- Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events [Replay] - GBA - 30/07 - 7:20 h

My favorite game was Inazuma Eleven 2. I LOVE the first 3 games, and it's the one I've played most.

Also I enjoyed A Series of Unfortunate Events. It was one of my first games and I've played several times too, but I hadn't played it in so many years.

Who Shot Johnny Rock? - FMV shooter for the SEGA CD, not great, very difficult and lots of trial and error

Cursed Digicam - Very interesting and short horror experience from Chilla's Art, probably my fav from them so far

The Karaoke- Another Chilla's Art game, this time it's a rather weak title and drags on a bit to try and build up the spooks

InCARceration - Very weird itch.io game but in a good way xD you gotta try it to understand

Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc - Huge FT fan, but not a fan of this game. Very repetitive, ai works weird, bare bones in terms of content.

Rental - Short free horror, not a fan but visually it looks nice. Just really boring and bland

Aether Gazer - Gacha hack n slash game, played for the God Eater collab, 100% that, and then went on to finish the actual story mode in the game. Very fun actually, the combat is fast paced, the animations are great, wide variety of unique characters and kits, a bit grindy but it comes with the genre.

RWBY: Arrowfell - Massive fan of the show, game started off fun albeit difficult due to the wonky combat without upgrades. Story was weak and not much really happens, the game gets repetitive at a certain point and the levels aren't designed very well, was fun but the last two hours were a bit forced.

Touhou Makuka Sai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival part II - Fan game, noticeably easier than the official titles but still fun. Some interesting spell cards but for the most part nothing to write home about. OST is fine but no stand out tracks that aren't remixes, story also weak and only brought down by very poor translation.

Firewatch - Played with a friend in call, very interesting idea and the voice actors nailed it! Enjoyed it very much, a lot of walking though and you're pretty darn slow but you got a radio to keep you entertained with the dialogue, which is this game's strongest point. The writers had fun with the two main characters for sure.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions - Pretty good 3DS fighting game, good 3D effect and visually great. FPS chugs a bit when using 3D but for the most part it's not an issue. You get to go over all 5 previous mainline games' story modes here and it's pretty cool, cut corners ofc but the voice acting and some cool cutscenes kept it entertaining.

Silent Hill 2 Remake - ABSOLUTE CINEMA, while the pacing is slow and combat wonky, enemy placement could be lowered but my God the storytelling is fantastic, the voice acting out of the park, the music outstanding, the atmosphere (before you get sick of it after spending more time in each area) is on point, one of the scariest games I've played when it works. On PC the optimization is very poor, even with an RTX 3070 and Ryzen 9 CPU it was impossible to keep a stable framerate. The new ending however is just so good, ended up crying to it and the leave ending.

Congrats on the completions everyone!

I got into Achievement Hunting in July, so I spent most of my time re-playing games where I was short a few of getting the 100% Steam Ribbon. Most of the time went into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 however, which is almost done. As for games I actually beat, here is the list. (I list overall time spent, but for most of these the time I've spent in July is much lower since all I did was clean-up achievements for some of them).

- Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior (2:43h / 68%): A chill 1-2 hour crime scene cleaner type game where you clean up after the mess by the protagonist in Shadow Warrior. Enjoyable for what it was.

- Subsurface Circular (4:02h / 64%): You're an robot detective on a subway, talking to other robots. If you enjoy text-based games, it's worth checking out.

- Disco Elysium (98:32h / 96%): Just had to re-do a couple choices to get the remaining achievements. Up until I played Clair Obscur, this was my favorite game of all time for the past few years. A truly special game, the troubles of the studio afterwards is oh-so tragic and oh-so fitting.

- Jazzpunk: Director's Cut (4:44h / 35%): A humorous adventure game where all you do is interact with the environment for some pretty weird stuff to happen. The overall story is not that important in comparison. It's not a bad game necessarily, but your enjoyment will depend on how you vibe with the humor. It wasn't for me.

- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (30:59h / 81%): Spent 10 hours with it just to get all the achievements, including one to 100% all the planets. Since the game does not have fast travel, this was brutal. Explore at your own risk, you might not make it back to your ship. The game is otherwise a lot of fun, albeit with some performance issues.

- Dear Esther: Landmark Edition (2:00h / 32%): A walking sim. The FIRST walking sim. It's pretty popular, but I just found it to be really boring. Didn't resonate with me at all unfortunately, even after playing through it with developer commentary on and hearing all about the development background.

- Headliner (3:13 / 45%): You are a News Editor and in charge of picking the articles that are published every day. The goal is to make decisions and see how it affects the population's happiness and opinions. Achievements encourage you to play it over and over again. A run is done in 10-20 minutes, so it was OK for what it was, but sometimes the choices didn't make sense. The achievement for "keeping my wife and daughter happy" popped in a run where I was killed at the end. Dafuq.

- Monkey Island 2: Special Edition (13:08h / 77%) Replayed one of my favorite p&c adventures to get the 3h speedrun achievement. Quite fun to do and re-experience all those weird puzzles. Of course I could only do it with a guide, because some of the solutions are just ridiculous. Thankfully, the vibes are immaculate in this game, so I can look past it.

- Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders (19:11h / 50%): Probably my least favorite game I have replayed three times now. First, a normal run. Second, I tried to go for 100% achievements years ago, only to realize at the end that I missed something. Then, I replayed it again two weeks ago and finally got it to 100%. Not worth your time, although competently made.

- Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons (5:51h / 55%): It has a nice achievement list, as you get them for interacting with the environment and straying off the beaten path. I personally don't like the game. Same with A Way Out, I just didn't believe and therefore enjoy Josef Fares' games and stories. I tried It Takes Two, actually enjoyed it, so many things change there. I still really like the man and his studio, but the games so far have not been for me.

- GRIS (7:15h / 67%): A great looking game featuring a beautiful OST and solid puzzle mechanics. Becomes repetitive at points despite its short length, but worht playing.

- Detention (6:09h / 66%): A Taiwanese horror game using their mythology and symbolism to tell a cryptic story which, once you figure it out, is quite dark. The second half is unfortunately mostly walking sim and kills the pacing a bit, but overall a good game.

- Never Alone (8:30h / 42%): Going in I thought it was going to be a cute game about a girl and her fox. While I found the documentary clips on the Inuit interesting, the gameplay was not good. Very buggy, very hard to control.

- Pony Island (6:49h / 71%): Clever and funny little game. Looking forward to the upcoming sequel.

That's 14 games :o Been quite busy it looks like. But as I said, mostly a couple hours per game. Was fun to re-visit some of these though. :)

2. Yars Rising - 7/10
3. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny(replay) - 7/10
4. Resident Evil: Revelations(replay) - 8/10
5. Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster - 5/10
6. Lost Judgment: The Kaito Files - 6/10
7. King Kong 2005 the game(replay) - 7/10
8. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection(replay) - 8/10
9. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days - 5/10
10. Assassin's Creed(replay) - 7/10
11. YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana - 7 or 8/10(can't decide as of now)
12. House of the Dead Remake(replay) - 7/10

Best: Resident Evil Revelations, King Kong 2005, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Assassin's Creed, YS VIII, and House of the Dead

Worst: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kaito Files, and Kane and Lynch 2

Solid but can be annoying: Onimusha 2

Decent but have lots of flaws that are difficult to look past: Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver

YS VIII was an interesting game, it's the first JRPG and by extension RPG I played in a long while but it's weird. The story is interesting in that the premise and ideas of you being stranded on an island with a bunch of "castaways" and growing a bond with them is the interesting part. The actual plot is also kind of interesting if a little bizarre but the gameplay is just "fine". It has that 3rd person zoomed out melee combat camera with heavy amounts of lock on to reliably hit enemies found in a lot of Japanese games that I find tolerable when the odds favor you but infuriating and very unreliable when they aren't. I am glad that normal difficulty doesn't make you super reliant on flash guard and evade since that would make bosses harder due to me dealing with the annoying lock on.

Solid month as a whole. I could've put in a beat of Twisted Metal 4 before the month closed but chose not to so I had more time than usual if I chose NOT to beat a game a few hours before the month ended. With YS VIII taking so much time, I got to play House of the Dead remake with Joycon motion control aiming. The only interesting thing about them btw.

After being held hostage by Hearts of Iron 4 for the past half a year, I once again managed to play and finish other titles.

Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog - A visual novel/adventure game inspired by retro sci-fi anime with lovely PC-98 graphics. The presentation is top-notch, and the story is no slouch either. After the introduction, the pace kicks into high gear, and it’s a wild, action-filled ride until the end. This was a pretty fun one.

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Thrones of Decay – I finished all three new campaigns added this DLC, and they were all pretty fun.

The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales – An adventure game with a pretty intriguing concept. The execution, however, was not exactly to my taste. It’s a decent game, but I had a hard time connecting with it.

Dredge – A fishing game with a lovecraftian horror story? Works better than you might think. The gameplay is smooth and enjoyable, and the world is interesting. Dredge is one of the great ones.

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse (twice) - 12-Jul and 17-July
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (replay) - 16-July
Sam & Max Hit the Road (replay) - 18-July
Poco - 20-July
King's Quest VI (replay) - 27-July

I had a good time with everything and particularly enjoyed revisiting Wind Waker as it had been a long time since I last played it and even longer for the GameCube version.

No new completions in July for me, but I have mostly just been having fun trying out mod tools and custom campaigns in Halo: Master Chief Collection. Also been enjoying the spectacle of that new horsegirl game that has been really popping off lately.

4th - BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
6th - Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
20th - Sin & Punishment: Earth Successor
29th - Sin & Punishment: Star Successor

The month started with finishing the second Kingdom Hearts game. Well, it certainly wasn't meant to be played so soon after the first one. The bulk of its playtime was revisiting worlds we've already seen, and the real plot didn't start until, like, three quarters into the game. The card system started off pretty fun, but quickly devolved into spamming the same sleight over and over again. After that, I've been told that KHII has great combat, but still revisits some worlds. So, I've decided to take a small break.

I've spent the rest of the month playing Final Fantasy VII, which I'll likely finish within a week. It didn't age well, though I certainly can see why people back then were so blown away by it. Still, it can't really hold a candle even to later PSX games, let alone PS2 library.

In order to avoid burnout on longer RPGs, I've played through Sin & Punishment dilogy. They are pretty hard, but fun rail shooters with a crazy plot. I enjoyed them a lot. Overall, it was a decent month.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (PlayStation 4) - July 13th, 2025 - 40h 13m 47s - The time is from the Save File after beating the game, so it may not be entirely accurate. - Return (Dragon's Homecoming) ending. Killed all of the bosses, except the ones exclusive to the Shura ending. Killed all of the Headless and Shichimen Warriors. Acquired all of the Prayer Beads and thus all of the Prayer Necklaces. Acquired all Prosthetic Tools. Acquired all Ninjutsu Techniques. Fully upgraded the Healing Gourd.

Astro Bot - Vicious Void (PlayStation 5) - July 13th, 2025 - Rescued all of the Bots.

Astro Bot - Vicious Void 2 (PlayStation 5) - July 13th, 2025 - Rescued all of the Bots.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a masterpiece of a game. From Software just doesn't miss. If you're a fan of action games and you haven't played Sekiro yet, you should play it. I highly recommend it!

Astro Bot is always a joy to play and these new levels are no exception. Can't wait for what Team Asobi is cooking next.

Happy gaming for August!

One completion by me this month!

7/12 - Split Fiction (PS5) - 16h 39m

Had a great time playing this with my girlfriend! It lived up to our hype and I'd say its on par with It Takes Two! I'm not sure if it'll win game of the year this time since it seems theres some strong contenders this year, but I definitely had a blast and its so far my favorite this year for me!

More then usual for me

8th July - Bit. Trip Fate - 4h 37m
13th July - System Shock - 13h 10m 23s
21st July - Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money DLC - 7h
25th July - Fallout: New Vegas - Honest Hearts DLC - 3h
27th July - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (Excluding DLC) - 19h 38m 3s

Ranking:
5th Bit. Trip Fate - A rather frustrating shooter with limited moveability. It keeps to the style of Bit. Trip well and easy to get into.
4th Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - This is excluding DLC. A filler game with too much backtracking. Still has the strong borderlands 2 style and is more consistent then the original game
3rd Fallout: New Vegas - Honest Hearts DLC - A half baked DLC with some interesting story which just needed a few more hours to flesh out the characters
2nd System Shock - An interesting look back at 451 games with one of the most foreboding antagonists in game i've played. Still it can't hide it's outdated design and relies on backtracking too much
1st Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money DLC - Great premise about doing a heist in a "haunted" casino and the characters there a given time to flesh out there characters. But the enemies for most part was designed for stealth and being a non stealth character made the DLC a pain to deal with

July 4th - Wonderful Everday: Down the Rabbit Hole (Subarashiki Hibi) : To be very honest, I didn't really enjoy this visual novel, A lot of scenes felt unnecessary and characters likes to yap a lot about philosophical stuff and books from which I felt bored a lot of the times, It does have some good moments and I especially liked one particular chapter called "Looking glass insects" because it handled the themes of bullying and rape quite well and how those experiences affect someone, I also enjoyed the first chapter because how laid back it was and I was just enjoying the great music and artstyle of the game and I enjoyed the second chapter because of how mysterious it was and I was craving for answers at the end, however even if I get what story the game is trying to tell, I just couldn't enjoy other chapters than the ones I just mentioned.

Rating: 6.3/10

July 10th - INSIDE: I liked this game, I found the puzzles interesting and the atmosphere was good, don't have any strong opinions about it!
Rating: 7/10

July 21st - Higurashi When They Cry - Chapter 6: Tsumihoroboshi: This is my second favourite chapter of Higurashi after Chapter 3, I really enjoyed the story writing, it's good that's all I have to say without spoiling it haha.
Rating: 9/10

Nice to see someone else enjoying Higurashi as much as I did. Tsumihoroboshi is also my second favorite arc, although my favourite is Ch8, with my third favorite being Ch7. The last 3 arcs are all top-tier, 10/10 material. Hope you enjoy the next two as well.
