Fun plot with a million little references to the show. Gameplay is nothing special, but the presentation more than makes up for it.

South Park is a game I've wanted to play for a while, but just as with the show itself the fun and hilarity of South Park come in spits and Bertz and the longer the experience wears on the less enjoyable it becomes. I initially had a lot of fun being a dumb silent kid wandering around with Cartman and the other kids but the sheer amount of poop and butthole related humor really wears on you. Its kind of incredible how far they take it but it definitely loses the charm way faster than something like the Mighty Poo level in Conkers' Bad Fur Day (for me personally anyway).

The story is short and sweet and gets a steady stream of laughs and chuckles which is nice since it doesn't overstay it's welcome the way the potty humor does. The D&D/LotR/2010s and earlier pop culture references that make South Park what it is work even if some references are definitely dated. Combat is what I'm assuming the Mario RPG pioneered with a mix of turn based and light button inputs to keep you engaged with each fight. Even with the added engagement level the combat eventually just loses all interest which may be partly the system itself but is probably more to do with the extremely simple leveling and gear systems. When you hit max lvl 15 there is simply no reason to engage with fights other than cash but you shouldn't ever feel strapped for cash in this game, again to it's detriment. Even the summons you can find aren't even worth taking the time to search out since they can essentially only be used 1 or 2 times during your journey and never in a boss fight. The voice acting is of course one of the highlights since Trey Parker and Matt Stone were heavily involved and every character gets their shine. There were also several instances of bugs/crashes that further brought the experience down slightly. Overall, I'm glad I played it and the brevity of the experience certainly played into that but it definitely wasn't a standout memory and it could have been a surprisingly great RPG with some added depth to combat and character progression.

First of all this game is awesome, funny, edgy, and super fun all round. Mechanics are neat, the story makes sense for how southpark is, unfortunately some things were blocked for my country version, but that's okay there's youtube to show what I missed out on. I platinumed this game and it was a superb experience other than the insane amount of missables... Overall definitely recommend this game, wouldn't really recommend going for plat off the bat, experience the game unfiltered and unbothered first as that will net you the best experience.

A hilarious and really fun adventure in the world of South Park! As a fan of the show, I knew the first time playing this that I would love it and I did. Revisiting it recently for the youtube channel, I fell in love with it all over again. It had been so long that I'd mostly forgotten everything and there were so many things I hadn't done in my original playthrough. Its just great to play a game thats very crass and bold when almost everything these days is very safe or politically correct.

This game doesn't give you a game over if you die and your party is still alive, already making it better than 90% of other traditional RPGs. I kid, I kid, but seriously learning that by dying six minutes into a fight and not having to restart said fight was possibly my favorite gaming moment of 2023 so far. The combat in this game is a little too simple for modern day standards, but it's more than enjoyable over the brisk total run time. Difficulty is a double edged sword here, so let me explain. You will never have to grind in this game, not once. There are plenty of opportunities through exploring and just story mission battles to be able to find new weapons and gain money/exp to level your way up. If you do any of the side quests or loot even 1/4 of the map, you will have more than enough junk to sell to be able to set yourself up for an op slug sesh on all your favorite south park characters. The writing is fantastic, I let out a few big chungo style laughs several times during my playthrough and often found myself snickering. The story is a bit simple, but it works wonders with the cast and for the world of South Park. It's a very good game, teetering on the edge of greatness.

I completed the game 100% and replayed the main story and some side stuff several times. It's a hilarious game, if not one of the more entertaining ones of this "genre". Must play if you're a fan of South Park. If you're only in it for the game you might be a bit disappointed as it's definitely not the focus. Feels more like a long South Park movie + a lot of collectathon elements rather than a videogame.

It's Like Playing a Season of South Park

Story includes all of the classic South Park humor that you come to expect, all while being a fun parody of DnD/generic fantasy tropes. Combat is solid but companions are unbalanced, with Butters being basically unkillable and Kyle doing the most damage. Unfortunately the game crashed once or twice toward the end while playing handheld on Switch. Playing as the Jew class was fun, as it gives you opportunities to inflict status on enemies.

Overall it was exactly as I hoped and expected it would be. Would recommend if you like South Park.

Just as funny and fun as my original playthrough. Only part of the game I didn't truly enjoy was the French paper translation part, where you had to go to Canada. In terms of gameplay it was solid, but pretty barebones. Having played other turn based combat games, I wish there was more combinations with friends, and spells.

Another game that I played before but wanted to revisit. This game still holds up and managed to surprise me despite being a replay.

Story - 8.5/10
Gameplay - 8/10
Music - 7/10
Graphics - 9/10
Overall - 8/10

If humour was a game. Glad they were able to capture the charm of the tv show in a game format. The story is just a bunch of kids having fun, and almost all the characters from the show make an appearance here. It's also funny how they carry a single plot thread al the way to the end before the whelming reveal (the mc being special). I appreciated the game for being mature and genuinely making laugh at some parts. It's also not very long which is a plus. The characters are very true to their show counterpart. The humour doesn't fall flat and has a lot of dark jokes. If you're a fan of the tv series like me, you'll enjoy this.

Gameplay was also pretty good and fun. It's mostly rpg which a small twist on turn based combat where the timing matters, it worked for this game. I specifically liked this since it meant the player was more involved in the action. There's also a good amount of variety to the enemies, elves, humans, gnomes, aliens, n*zi enemies, rats. Tons of customization options when it came to weapon and armour but I'm sure everyone just put on the items with best stats. The skill trees are good and status effects like bleeding, gross, meant that we could utilize enemy weakness and build around a specific type. Kinda surprised the combat had this much depth for a South Park game. I also liked variety in the gameplay loop, like the party members and the gadgets, or the game becoming 8-bit top down whenever you go to Canada. One of my gripes is that it can get repetitive after a certain point. Towards end game, it feels like it's dragging on and it would be nice if you could skip some encounters. Another issue is the missable collectibles which is why I'm ignoring this plat.

I actually don't remember the music except it being similar to the show. It wasn't bad, just not a big focus.

The art style was great, it really looked like the show and, at some points, it felt like you were just watching an episode. Another thing about having this art style means that the game can age well and won't ever look outdated.

A very well done game that's a welcome addition to the series. Props to the devs for sticking true to the characters and the tone of the show.

Very funny game, it really keeps the esence of the series and makes you laugh now and then, as a game it makes the job, you have quest, fight against someone, go to talk to another character and the cycle continues, so, at the end it gets a little bit repetitive.

UPSIDES
- Really does make you feel like you're playing an Episode of the show
- Your Character being a part of the story feels near-seamless
- An outstanding array of cosmetics and colours to play with
- Chock-full of references from the show, but doesn't make you feel like you are missing context
- Pretty short for an RPG so all the poo jokes don't overstay their welcome
- Paced very well and has you doing new things frequently
- Huge amount of variety in terms of Weapons, Abilities and Build...

DOWNSIDES
- ...But it really won't matter because nearly everything is so effective, the game is too easy as a result
- Collecting Junk, Equipment and Flairs is just... not rewarding or fun
- In case you're wondering, South Park's crass humor does indeed go too overboard
- HP & PP regenerating to full outside of Battle only adds to the lack of difficulty

OVERALL
This is pretty much the definitive South Park game (at least, for the time) as it pretty much makes you feel like you're a part of the show. And I'm sure that's exactly what fans always wanted. Sure the combat is kinda shallow and easy, but it's serviceable, and you could argue it's not meant to be the highlight of the game. The simple experience of being in South Park is what sells it.

Its biggest problem - for any player - is its unfortunate case of "Ubisoft Syndrome"; putting all kinds of cosmetic shit (literal shit in some cases) in chests and expecting it to be rewarding. Luckily in this case, there was an entire lexicon of lewd raunchiness that was the South Park show to make some of these gag materials worth finding.

Fun game. I enjoyed it. As a casual viewer of South Park, I had fun with it and it didn't overstay its welcome.

BEST PART
- The School Raid (followed by chasing the Underpants Gnomes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))

WORST PART
- The Finale (?)

+ Buenas misiones secundarias y coleccionables

- Faltó un doblaje al español, aunque no es tan necesario
- Puede que sí la historia hubiese estado un poco más larga hubiese estado excelente.

Enjoyable game with a fun take on the classic turn-based RPG mechanics. Classic sense of South Park humor throughout the entire story and open-world town. Personally, the story and gameplay started to wear thin around the time you travel to Canada through the end of the story. For those familiar with RPG mechanics and willing to spend a trivial amount of time looking at things such as damage / DOT / AoE effects, the combat becomes trivial even in harder difficulties, and combat by the end of the game feels more like a chore, with unskippable mini-cutscenes for certain high-damage attacks.

Missable achievements that are not related to general exploration are fairly simple, but may require a 2nd playthrough that is more planned out than "going in blind." This does bring down my score a little bit.

If you like South Park, you'll love this game. The game itself stands on its own two feet as a very solid RPG, but I'd recommend you enjoy the humor of South Park to get the most out of this game as the language is extreme and there is some nudity. All in all, I took my time through the game without using the internet for help and was able to complete the game along with 20 of its 50 achievements within the first 13 hours of playing it. Considering I got it on sale and it was both very fun and very funny, I would say it was a great value.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is a hilarious RPG that pulls you into the South Park universe. Its irreverent and witty humor is sure to get at least a chuckle or two. It has a solid story that never lets you get bored, and is chock-full of side quests and references to the original series. This game can be an even greater experience if you've watched the show yourself. The mechanics are also really easy to get used to, which can make the game a little bit boring as you progress. Despite its small flaws, South Park: The Stick of Truth is a great game, and I'll probably continue to play it for a long while. And always remember: never fart on a guy's balls.
