4/5 - 😃Positive👍

👍

Lots of dumb fun, especially with friends (only RE game that counts as a comedy). Pacing is decently fast.

Highly expressive melee/movement system. Difficulty options, rating systems, and Mercenaries mode return from RE4&5.

I like the characters. Their relationships and feelings are actually explored unlike many "action figure" protagonists in gaming. I think the dynamic between Chris and Piers may strike a chord for some people.

Graphics are good and can be stunning at times. Some of the music is great. ("At The End of A Long Escape" is so cheesy and so good. The whole soundtrack is on streaming go listen now!!!)

🤔

Very different style and atmosphere from what classic RE fans are used to. Some may not be interested in the constant explosions and superhero moves.

The B-movie dialogue/characters/script isn't for everyone.

👎

Skills system feels so grindy and underwhelming compared to the merchant system it replaces. And you can't even use them on the highest difficulty!

CONTROLS! - I haven't tried gamepad but the kb&m experience has too many overlapping buttons that are unintuitive, especially with quickchat and key-binding labels having bizarre English that was clearly a poor translation. Some scripted sequences feel very trial & error since I can never intuitively predict what I'm supposed to press (Shift+R to dodge???). Changes to the inventory system are for the worse, with hotkeys from RE5 gone, replaced with next/previous binds. Want to quickly switch weapons? Make sure you're not pressing the sprint/climb/low cover key or you'll scroll grenades instead.

I can't change my settings with the game paused (offline obviously). This wasn't a problem in RE5.

I still think RE5 had the best inventory system, and RE4 had better writing and vibes. And it barely comes close to what the horror RE games can offer. 99% of the game is not scary at all.

This was ROUGH. I'm ashamed of how many hours I have in this game, but I had to practically play it twice so that I could finish it with Bestie. The new characters are all so lame, Helena, Piers, and Simmons have nothing interesting about them at all. The only one that I actually really liked was Jake. Leon's campaign was pretty boring but not the worst, but Chris's campaign was actually mind numbing with how bad it was. Ada's is barely even a co-op game because only one person gets to do anything. This game is ENTIRELY and I mean ENTIRELY carried by the Jake and Sherry campaign. Their story is actually so much better than anything else in this game and is extremely solid. Honestly it's worth it's own individual game in my campaign. This one had way too much action for a RE game. I swear, everything in this game had to end up exploding with annoying loud music playing in the background. I'm just glad to be done.

Campanha do Jake. Pega tudo que eu falei do Chris, uma piada da ação "epica" do Leon, multiplica tudo por 10. Pronto. campanha do Jake.

Jogo podre.

The maps were improvement over Revelations 1 - Revelations 2 , except car chases

QTEs were terrible (missing during escapes from bosses send you way back to checkpoints), could be turned off learnt after completion

Bad camera angles during Chris,Ada boss fights

Leon-Ada(Simmons-Carla) bosses take too much bullets

Best Character - Piers was good and competent ( to keep Chris in mission ,scolds and cheers)

Best costume - Sherry, Summers CH 1-2, Scarf does make difference)

Best Campaign - Jake China Research Facility
Weapon - Bear commander

Why is it's first aid with Grenades , you are surely bound to take one wrongly

I went into this knowing it was a linear, cinematic action game, so you won’t hear any of that “not my resident evil” talk from me.

I know I’m giving it a 7/10 (and on a technical level it deserves a 5/10), but this was one of the best co op experiences I’ve had with a friend. The moment to moment zombie combat was full of satisfying head popping, heavy weaponry, and a surprisingly well made hand to hand combat system. Enemy variety was also great, and I loved systematically taking down a room of enemies, so why is the game so generally panned by reviewers? It’s because the game is jank af. Most of the difficulty comes from enemies spawning on top of you or bs quick time events. Sometimes, a cutscene will trigger mid fight, but the combat doesn’t pause for it, leading you to missing any shots you were aiming or getting bit when you could’ve otherwise had plenty of time to dodge that attack. Additionally, only half the game is fun gunplay, the other half feels like a bunch of half baked mario party mini games with jank controls that’ll cause most of your deaths. They were trying to go for cool cinematic acyion scenes like Uncharted, but took on too many leading to each one being terrible. Worst feeling driving sections I’ve ever felt in a video game. I don’t want to see a snow mobile for a while.

On a story level, it’s stupid, but in a fun way. This does everything right if you enjoy ribbing into a B movie action horror flick with friends. One section has you fighting a tank in china, another is a zombie dog chasing a train, and there’s also one where you’re a swat team taking on an underwater research monstrosity. The character’s actions don’t make sense as most events follow the logic of rule of cool over everything else. Why are we punching the zombies with kung fu moves in mustafar? Shut up nerd, that’s why.

My best advice is, either play the game with a friend or don’t play at all. There’re plenty of other games with better cinematic campaigns, but this is the highest budget coop campaign I’ve ever seen, and it’s worth experiencing simply for that reason alone. The budget shows with just how intractable the environment is and how many goofy fun things there’re to do as well as all the super expensive cutscenes that are a joy to watch. It may have been a mistake to take Resident Evil in this direction, but I’m glad something like this exists.

Returning to this game after quite a long time for RESIDENT APRIL, I've come away with a similar stance as I had when it originally released. It's just a hugely inconsistent experience. Some parts of it have endeared themselves to me more over time, but when Resident Evil 6 is bad, it is truly horrendous. I would love to catch up with some of the characters in it that have been absent from the series since this game, though (i.e. bring back Ada Wong, you cowards).

Fun shooting. Shit movement. Horrible fake cutscenes where you're forced to watch something while enemies kill you. Especially the tons of snipers that just lay you on the ground constantly.

The other name for this game is Ada Wong and the case of the evil twin.

Plot of Leon/Helena:
Hi Helena, bye Deborah. Hi Ada, bye Ada. Bye Ada, hi Ada.

Plot of Chris/Piers route:
Hi Ada, bye teammates. Bye Ada, bye teammates.

Plot of Jake/Sherry route:
Where in the world is Ada?

Plot of Ada route:

This game is not good. It is in fact quite bad really. The gunplay is mediocre, the graphics don't hold up at all, and the story is terrible.

But there's the rub, the story is so terrible, it loops back around to being bonkers, that elusive area where it's so bad it's good. If you have a friend who doesn't mind the madness and mediocrity, you can have some great laughs with where this game goes.

What a lot of negative reviews. Don't get me wrong, the game isn't perfect, but clearly not worth the hate it gets here.

A lot of people hate this game because it's pure action with horror elements. Well yes, gentlemen, where have you been for many years? The game has been going in this direction since the third part of the game. Better that than stagnation. If you came here after the second part or from silent hill then yes you made a mistake, this game requires a slow acceptance of action and I recommend playing these games in order of number and this part is better than the fifth.

Yes, the AI is not very smart. But the cutscenes are good. They're good, they're not realistic or logical, they're enjoyable to watch. You can dig into trivia and gaming conventions as much as you want, but cool cutscenes have always been a part of the Resident. Even the silly ones.

The gameplay has gotten better since part five, you just have to understand a lot of things the game doesn't explain. Close combat work, melee and stun enemies, knife work, dodges, rolling up and crawling on your back. The game constantly generates beautiful gameplay moments and each of the four campaigns are good.

I went through them all by myself on max and pre-max difficulty. It was awesome.

So far the residents I've gone through are: 2 Remake 100%, 3 Remake 100%, 4 Original 100%, 5, Revelation, Code Veronica, 6.

Resident Evil 6 was... disappointing. It's regarded as the worst game in the franchise and for good reason. The storyline was all over the place, and it barely had the survival horror elements so many players were looking forward to besides the inclusion of zombies. When you continuously use the same storyline of a zombie/biohazard outbreak, people want to see something new and fresh. It's also insanely long for such a boring game. In summary, RE6 is basically just an action game with some horror elements that lacked the passion and time put into it that made the other games shine.

story is uninteresting and has plot holes, i also felt like characters sometimes act out of character. ai partner is just bad and i'm sure it's better to play with a friend or just another person but it doesn't change the fact that the combat is ass and equipment ui is confusing. i have no idea who designed running but it's god-awful and it feels like you have no control over a character and they just blindly runs forward. the only thing that i like about it are character designs, actors did a good job and the cutscenes are awesome

definitely the worst Resident Evil and it has no reason to be the longest in the franchise

Probably better with a group of actual hoomanz. I liked the cheese-factor in SP, but the story goes nowhere fast. The "Mercenaries" botmatch didn't tickle my pickle: I would have preferred an objective-based roguelike approach instead of time-attack score-chasing.

VERDICT:
After playing this game, I've come to the conclusion that the devs wanted a more action packed game over what they did best, a horror. This started at RE5 and I can't help but feel that they should go back to the original genre, less action and more horrifying scenes! It's also sad to see them remove the item management side.

Now that's out the way, RE6 isn't a terrible game, as much as the die hard fans want it to be. The game play is good and the cut-scenes are brilliant! Theirs plenty to play for, since there's 4 campaigns to choose from, Leon, Chris, Jake and Ada. All of them showing a different side of the whole picture which I think was a great idea. They've stuck with the co-op franchise which is a lot better than the previous RE but I'm more relieved that people are still playing, without you guys, the game would have been a little harder. If you're looking for a story driven game, then look no further because that is the highlight of this game.
Total Score = 83/100.

Just like Resident Evil 5 this game is made for Co-Op. The movement and shooting are also massively improvement from RE5 but the controls must have been made by some who has never seen a keyboard.

Resident Evil 6 is a survival horror, third person shooter game, developed by Capcom. However, it feels like more of a thriller-suspense, third person shooter. It is the 6th official entry in the series, excluding the many Resident Evil side-story and spin-off games. You control multiple protagonists which include Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jake Muller, and Ada Wong through their own campaign modes. Throughout the journey of each character, you will find that their stories are intertwined...and you get to see the unique perspective of each character as they fight against the C-Virus infection. Each of these protagonists are also paired up with a side-kick, whom you can also choose to play as.
The graphics in Resident Evil 6 look polished, with detailed shadows, elaborate character models, and epic cinematics. On the topic of cinematics...there is a lot of it in this game. Players who do not like being interrupted during the core gameplay, may find this to be a big problem. Also, the game's atmosphere is not that horrifying compared to titles such as Dead Space, which captures the meaning of survival horror a lot better than Resident Evil 6 can. The game's setting takes place mostly in China. You will be traversing through swampy areas, church graveyards, Chinatown markets, apartments, underground chambers, snowy peaks, and submarines just to name a few.
Right at the start of the game, you are thrown into a quick time event, which leads nicely into the first aspect I want to talk about. Quick-time events. This is good, if you get a thrill from pulling off spontaneous button inputs in the nick of time. If not, then you may feel these quick time events that fill the game, to be repetitive and constantly breaking the pace of your experience. To be fair, if you enjoy emotional and action packed cutscenes, you may find joy in watching the many found throughout the game. Now, getting down to the core gameplay. Resident Evil 6 follows the style of its past two predecessors, Resident Evil 4, and 5. The camera is located behind your character, except the game tries to give you a feeling that you are watching an action movie, by placing the camera near the ground when your character is running, or placing the camera in front of your character during enemy chases. This can be the cause for some cumbersome controls due to an awkward view. This 6th instalment has also added short arcade-like driving sequences, on-rail shooting, and occasional stealth modes, throughout the campaign.
The in-game menu is represented by a unique high-tech phone that each character has. However, the game is not paused when you bring up the menu. The reason for this, is to give the player more of an urgency when combining medical herbs or selecting weapons. Adding to that, this device also acts as a prompter in order to point you towards the correct path.
There are a number weapons you will acquire throughout the game, which include pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, and knives. The game often forces you to use all weapons, because ammo found in crates or dropped by enemies come in all types, and are more scarce depending on the difficulty you have chosen. Need not worry though, you can perform physical attacks to conserve your ammunition. Once an enemy is stunned, the game will give you the option to do a special physical attack. Between each chapter, the game will give you the ability to upgrade attributes such as attack and defence, by spending skill points collected during the chapter.
Sliding and crawling on the ground will also be a frequent action that you will find yourself doing, because of the vents and the tight spaces located in different areas of the game. In the crawling position, you will be able to bring out your weapon to defend yourself while in the limited space you are given. This can call for some suspenseful moments when you are being pursued by zombies underneath swirling blades, or unexpectedly confronted by one inside a vent.
Aside from shooting zombies to ashes, the game will give you puzzles to solve. The amount of puzzles varies between characters. For example, Ada Wong's campaign has more difficult and a larger amount of puzzles, opposed to Leon, Chris and Jake's campaigns. The puzzles range from collecting multiple items to access the next area, to unlocking a door by matching symbols. Through a majority of these puzzles and the gameplay, your partner...either controlled by an AI or human, will be of huge aid to you...Whether it be reaching high places, pulling levers simultaneously, or just giving you an extra hand with the zombies. There are two types of general enemies in this game, who are zombies and J'avos. J'avos are genetically enhanced humans, who can rationalize as opposed to zombies.

This is perhaps the worst game I have ever played, which is why I am both a) going for the Platinum trophy (my first ever) and b) asking you to pick this game up on sale and drag a friend through it.

On a serious note, this game is fun as a co-op experience. If you completely disregard the mess of a story, RE6 is a fun action shooter with slick movement and fun combat.

Resident Evil 6 is probably the most confused game I have ever experienced. While Resident Evil is known best when it does survival horror, RE6 is known as the survival horror... action, blockbuster, military shooter, etc, etc, this game can't really be described better than just a huge mess that attempts to please everyone, but instead pleases nobody.

Story
While most games would go the route of telling one, strong story, RE6 takes the brave route of telling 4, separate (but same storyline), weaker storylines. The main storylines are from Chris, Leon, Jake, and last but probably worst, Ada. Quite honestly they vary greatly in quality, as Chris probably has the least amount of story, but a simple goal. Jake's storyline focuses on the Nemesis like enemy and the relation between Jake and Sherry, almost like a love story. Leon's Campaign probably has the most attempts to do storytelling, but falls flat with many moments of just forced walking sections. They vary a ton in tone, but at the same time share the same (big explosions go boom). Probably the most disappointing was Leon's campaign, as it was obvious that they wanted to focus on horror, but then realized that they might bore the player, so reminds us that we are playing RE6 and throws an explosion I swear, more times than Chris' Campaign. Jake was the surprisingly stronger campaign, which isn't saying much, but thanks to its love story. Chris' was also a strong potential, but had less times to flesh out the story and instead focus on the action. Ada's campaign... sucked, and the story was just so one note that it got really stale real quick. The worst aspect of this story however was how they tried to connect everyone's story together, which on paper sounds really sick, but ends up with many segments of corny one-liners, standing still watching someone else have fun, or terrible, terrible writing moments that just makes me face palm more than take seriously.

Characters
While Resident Evil never had SUPER fleshed out characters, they always had more interesting characters. RE6 decides that the best way to flesh out a character is to force them to have terrible one liners, especially leon and jake oh my GOD man. They still do hold interest, as like said before, their relations between one another were interesting, and whlie I still complained about the storyline interconnecting was its biggest fault, it was still kinda cool to see them bump into each other and how they contributed... even if it lead to some fights just having you watch them have fun. Jake and Sherry's love story was the most interesting storyline, with Leon and Helena's was the 2nd most interesting. Chris' and his partner was probably the least interesting, and Ada... tried. I do think Jake trying to act the most badass in front of everyone was a bit corny, but I did like his development at the end... but man it sucks how much Leon's campaign storywise and gameplay wise was disappointing, even if they made it to appeal to horror fans... just to make it more action than the rest of the campaigns.

Gameplay
RE6's magnum opus... is super conflicted. Quite honestly the combat and core gameplay they made was pretty good, and was easily the most engaging of the RE games... if only they made the gameplay around a good game. RE6's gameplay is what happens when you have a good system, and do all the wrong things to make that system shine. They have a RE core gameplay with mechanics that focus around dodges, dive rolls, leaping around, and a melee system that encourages stuns into a almost wrestling game? Now instead of having that shine, they instead force you to fight goons with guns, annoying big monsters, and barely give you enough ammo to even flop around and experiment with the system they made. Or better yet, segments of just walking around, watching your 500th explosion, quick time event to just climb a rope? I feel like if they took this exact same combat system and made it around a better game, it would be a different tune. They instead shoved it into a game that didn't know what it wanted to be, action? Horror? RE3 fan? stealth? fuck it lets have EVERYTHING. The one thing that does save this game is how much fun it is for COOP, which is where this game shines the brightest. I can't fatham playing this game by yourself and having the best time of your life. Compared to RE5's more streamlined, but still fun coop, RE6's coop tends to throw everything at the wall and hope you both enjoy it. While some segments are pretty fun, overall they get stale REAL fast, and especially Ada's campaign which had the most obviously tacked on coop to the point where the partner doesn't even seem to exist, yeah its a mixed bag.

Music
Generic, Generic, Generic. They really tried to replicate the "hollywood feel" a bit too much, and most songs in this ost was just really forgettable.

Last Positives/ Nitpicks
- a shit ton of skill points, which were worthless as we played no mercy.

Truly an experience.
To be honest I didn't care shit about the story, so I don't know how bad it is. The hud is confusing as hell, gameplay and controls are awful (2 to dodge forward, c to dodge back, capslock to zoom in, like wtf). I feel like they tried to do an action movie with a bit of survival horror and failed at both.
The only thing that "saves" is the fact that you can play all the campaigns co-op, so that helps you laugh the game off with a friend. But even then they achieved the feat of creating a painful experience. In Ada's Campaign, if you choose to play with the Agent you literally can't do nothing besides walking and shooting, you can't interact with a single thing.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

One of the funnest combat systems in any game I’ve played trapped inside one of the worst video games I’ve played. Huge missed opportunity, massive L. And you get the privilege of playing through the same basic plot 4 times in a row
