I am a big fan of the survivors-genre. For me, 20 Minutes Till Dawn is a good entry for the genre. For me personally preference, It’s not bad, but it’s not the greatest either. The art style is interesting but didn’t excite me. The music is a bit forgettable. The progression into upgraded skills could be either explained or shown a bit better. I wanted to like this more, but I would rather a better entry in the series of which there are plenty.Updated 1.5 Months Ago

This game is a ton of fun, I just wish there were more maps. It also does get a bit too easy near the end of a stage.Updated 3 Months Ago

Great game at first glance, but it has a lot of minor bugs that should be fixed, like missing sounds and etc. So the building is not so great, it's always same build for every character, except summoners. But I think the main problem, the game has steep progression, and after 4-5 hours it feels very repetitive, just bigger & stronger enemies and that's all. However, it's my opinion. I think I got everything I wanted from this game.Updated 7 Months Ago

I waited for this game to come out, from the first one it seemed like something was missing and it didn't seem finished. Honestly now I can say that you have much more possibilities, new characters, new weapons, new difficulties to play and the game itself is much better now.Updated 8 Months Ago

Pretty alright, has some fun combos but not necessarily too difficult and doesn't have absolutely cracked combos like other similar games.Updated 8 Months Ago

Simple 'Vampire Survivors' clone with a decent pixel art style and design. Gameplay and weapons are alright, but lacks depth and replay ability.Updated 8 Months Ago

good little game, definetly one of the better VS clones, but lost interest after 10 rounds100% would have been every character until difficulty 15 and then win on said max difficulty, no time for that shit

O Dash recarregável dela me fez sentir invencível e pensar 'I beat this game! rsrsrs.

The short amount of "stages" makes it feel incomplete even if it tries to make up for it with a large variety of characters and weapons. Not my favorite survivors game.I believe theres an upcoming patch that may rework some things so score may change.

Updated 1 Year Ago

Vampire Survivors like game. I enjoy the graphics and art style of this one more. Summons are clearly the best way to play with passive success.Updated 1 Year Ago

Obviously takes queues from Vampire Survivors, except more shallow. The weapons are kinda interesting, but unbalanced. The abilities are and enemies are forgettable. I would say it's addictive but after less than 8 hours I've unlocked everything and have no desire to come back to it.Updated 1 Year Ago

A good evolution of the Vampire Survivors idea, with a greater emphasis on choosing a loadout and building up skills and builds. I eneded up using Lilith with the bat gun for a significant portion of my way up to the final difficulty level. The game overall is fun, a great podcast/music listening game, but the road to "completing" it is a little repetitive and I wish more elements of each run would change to keep players on their toes. Had fun though and is worth it for fans of the idea.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Decent Survivor-like. Free-aim helps differentiate it from the best. A lot of characters and weapons give you a decent level of build diversity to keep the game feeling fresh.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Really fun to play, the kind of game that feels rewarding to play, but doesn't actually require any skills.I first started struggling a lot, but then I realized that there are some broken upgrades, if you survive enough to get them, the game basically becomes too easy. On my last 2 runs I didn't even come close to dying.
In all fun to spend some time on, and probably will play some more, but ends up being too easy and forces you to do the "Darkness" levels.
7/10.

Updated 1.5 Years Ago

In a nutshell, the game is another bullet hell game with an interesting dark pixel visual style that lets you choose between many weapons and characters, but as you play, it can feel repetitive because of the little variation of enemies and upgrades, and the difficulty progression is quite disappointing because there are so many difficulty levels that just add little changes. The game is a 6.5/10.Updated 2 Years Ago

Want to become an almighty lighting god? Then unleash your inner deity and effortlessly zap demons out of existence. Perhaps you prefer a more fiery approach, then become one with the flamethrower and reduce demons to ashes. Maybe you wish to indulge in the thrill of living on the edge by embodying a god damn walking powerhouse of an explosive character that leaves a trail of destruction in your path, even endangering your own existence. This is the essence of 20 Minutes Till Dawn. A top down roguelike shooter that offers a vast array of abilities, allowing you to customize and utilize countless power ups that complement your character's skills. Experimenting is key to the success of your run as you search for the perfect combination of offensive and defensive perks, while all the same surviving a horde of demons that increase by the minute. It's an intense yet addicting gameplay loop that will keep you busy for hours on end. And while it is possible to achieve the most optimal build, I think the game truly shines when it allows you to just go berserker and reap chaos everywhere.
My one and only gripe with the game is its monochrome- like aesthetic. It’s meant to capture the vibe of fending demons in the underworld, and while that’s fine and all. It can become a bit too overwhelming to experience as a player especially when the chaos intensifies, it becomes increasingly harder to differentiate between the various enemies as they lack any real distinct color from one another.
All and all, it’s still a great game that one can pick up and play to pass the time. The craziest part is that this game sits a solid $5 on Steam, and on top of all that it’s continually receiving free DLC content, expanding its already compact experience.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If you enjoy 20 Minutes Till Dawn, then you might want to check out the following
Enter The Gungeon: Top down shooter but with less emphasis on surviving hordes of enemies over a set period of time and instead focuses more on optimizing your build to successfully navigate through different areas and levels.
Risk of Rain 2: Same as the top one but as 3rd person shooter focusing more on exploration and mobility, has multiplayer so great game to play with friend as well.
Touhou: Specifically from the 6th game and onwards. Less of a rougelike and more of a top down shooter that WILL cover your entire screen with bullets and which you must masterfully dodge to complete. The replaybility can match that of a rougelike as its on the more hardcore side of things and will test your reflexes, especially in the harder difficulties.

Unfinished early access survivors-like game #37206This one is more complete than most: fully developed talent trees, an arsenal of weapons, upgrade synergies, and the like. Gameplay is tight and responsive. The Lovecraftian setting is really effective in creating tension and the exhilaration of survival.
This one is also more difficult than most. Although there are lots of character/weapon/talent choices, only a couple combinations seem to work well enough to actually beat the game. It certainly felt good to finally beat a run... but why play it after that?
I like retro visuals, but here they become detrimental. For color scheme they went with greyscale plus red. That's it. Those are the only colors in this game. Accordingly, as you might imagine, as the minutes tick by and the screen floods with sprites, it becomes real effing hard to see what's going on.
Then there's the problem that, unlike Vampire Survivors, every run feels the same. Did you make the right weapon and upgrade choices is the only question. Moving around the map is mostly pointless. There's no story or anything, which sadly is the norm for this kind of game. There's also some annoying QoL issues -- there's no autoshoot, so with one weapon I had to hold down (not click but HOLD) the left click mouse button for 20 minutes.

At first I liked it more than Vampire survivors as it felt more skill-based, but the meta-progression is extremely lackluster and the difference from run to run is minimal. While there are a few viable builds, it is fairly limited and you'll pick up half or more of the skills on every run.
Visibility and clarity aren't great, especially later on it's almost impossible to see the trees in the exploding chaos of minions. This is also true for audio cues, some things are clearly audible (regaining your shield), while others don't have a sound effect at all (losing your shield).
Getting to darkness 15 (and therefore gettting many of the achievements as most are tied to that) is a chore of doing the same thing over and over. Sure some difficulty is being added but it's both inconsequential (slightly faster minions/slightly more hp, etc) or just a bit annoying and bad for player agency (fewer choices on level-up/less xp).
While I enjoy that it's slightly more challenging than Vampire Survivors, I don't think this managed to capture the addictive nature of that game well.
