Joguei no Difícil e tinha bastante parte cabulosa. Gostei de mais deste jogo. Com certeza um dos melhores FPS's que já joguei

Black is a fairly straightforward shooter, especially for its time—but that’s exactly what it set out to be, and it delivers on that vision with confidence. The narrative follows a somewhat muddled military plot that I didn’t find particularly engaging or memorable, and the ending felt abrupt. That said, the real highlight of the game lies in its gunplay.

Shooting in Black feels powerful and satisfying. Every weapon has a distinct weight and punchiness that makes combat feel impactful. While the enemies could be a bit spongey—sometimes dampening the pacing and fluidity of fights—the core mechanics still shine.

What truly sets Black apart is its environmental destruction. Watching cover, walls, and barricades crumble under sustained fire adds a level of immersion and visual payoff that was rare at the time. It's a short, action-packed experience that doesn’t overstay its welcome, and for that reason, I’d definitely recommend it to fans of classic FPS gameplay.

Cool, loud, badass FPS where you play a secret agent ala John Matrix from Commando to march through waves of baddies that are sitting on the worlds largest inventory of Red Exploding Barrels. The main draw here is the environmental destruction, windows shatter, concrete explodes, air conditioning units drop from the ceiling onto unsuspecting RPG weilding mercs, and all those beautiful red exploding barrels. The weapons are mostly forgettable, the overly long reload animations also mess with the DOF making it a bit tricky to keep your bearings in the heat of the moment, but the sound is fantastic. Enemies are realistic bullet sponges, just need a dozen or two rounds to the center of mass (or 1 to the head) to take them down. Movement is slow and methodical, you get used to it but a jog would be nice. Friendly AI is actually helpful which is great on some of those larger levels with massive waves of enemies swarming you from all sides. Levels are large and sprawling, hiding their linearity well, but some more color variety would have been nice. A solid PS2 FPS and worth checking out if you want to blow shit up!

i would recommend to play only on Emulator (pcsx2 in my case), cuz there are fixes that are making this game playable nowadays.Widescreen 16:9 + 60 fps unlock. The destruction is cool, but scripted.Enemies are just bullet sponges(but u can 1shot in the head), weapons are okay. When u switch weapons there is "show-off" animation that takes billion years to end.I was impressed by the large locations that the PS2 could handle.Movement is "meh", safest strategy is just to sit behind cover, peek and 1 tap enemy. As for me, I like games where the main character is interrogated in the story(reminds me of moments from black ops 1 and battlefield 3 considering that these games came out 4-5 years later). It has its pros and cons. The game is not bad, for 2006 for sure. I understand why people like it. I'll give it 80%, but if you evaluate it objectively, now this game is played very clumsily, slowly and in general has not stood the test of time.

A good game. At first, I thought it would be just another call-of-duty-like type of game, and although in a few ways it is, it is unique enough and completely hooked me until I finished it.
The shooting is the main star of the show, each weapon has its own 'weight', sound, range, damage, and even multiple types of shooting configurations and some even accessories. You're constantly introduced to new weapons and are encouraged to change between them for each situation.
The second best thing is the destruction. There are plenty of objects both big and small to destroy, this is helpful for immersion but also plays into the gameplay as you have to plan which covers to use and which to destroy. It really has A LOT of presence.
Lastly, the visuals are great, the destruction together with the smoke particles, muzzle flashes, explosions, lightrays, lamps, etc. makes for a treat that holds up even to this day. It made the encounters so much fun and spectacular.
Other things:
- The controls hold up pretty nicely and the only thing I missed would be a higher sensitivity for aiming.
- I didn't pay attention to the story but it sounded like a generic action movie with twists and turns.
- The music was better than I expected and quite nice at times.
Final notes:
I wouldn't mind replaying it, especially the mission with the fully destructible bathroom. Awesome bathroom!

One of the best FPS PS2 games, if a friend asked me about a shouter PS2 game easily black the first choice would be in my mind. Although I don't usually like this genre, but this game is different. The weapons are similar to those in any other FPS, but their use is unique. The level design, enemies, health system, and difficulty all of this made a great experience. But there is only one flaw, and it's that I can't play with the mouse.

NOTE: The rating because my save file was deleted in the half

This is going to be a strange review but my experience with was kind of weird, so I will start off with my initial impressions:

I find the game to be decent fun, I also find it to be a "style over substance" game in the purest sense. The game is basically driven by it's over the top action movie feel in the gameplay, it does a good job at making you feel like you are in an over the top Hollywood action movie with explosions and constant destruction and the sound design and damage animations carries much of the game, but at the same time, the enemy encounters and level design mainly just consists of, "point, shoot and kill every enemy in sight".

This isn't bad on it's own, but every level mainly just consists of using every gun the enemy is using and blasting them away with machine guns or shotguns. And it's a human enemies with hitscan weapons game, so combat tends to be the same a lot of the time. Something like FEAR had the slo mo, enemy variety(by comparison to this game), arena like levels, and enemy AI to carry that game. Black is FEAR minus all that.

Black also doesn't have the varied objectives that other hitscan games at the time like Timesplitters and Half Life 2 do. The levels also kind of remind me of Resistance Fall of Man where it's you and a bunch of enemies and you get to the end of the stage with not much fluff inbetween, but Resistance had interesting guns, enemy variety and AI that can catch you off guard. Black doesn't have that either.

The game can be fun but I can see why even when I first played it, I never viewed as the "cult classic" that so many others view it as. The game is also really glitchy to play on an emulator as well. I got stuck in place, teleported to different parts of the map and the screen would have a different orientation. All of this can be done by reloading the last save state but it can be annoying when it happens to me.

But after play a couple hours later, these were my thoughts:

I got my more out of the gameplay in Black by messing around with the different firing options on the assault rifles. I think the high recoil on them actually encourages this. You will be missing shots like crazy if you keep using fully automatic mode but for mid range it's best to use burst fire and for long range, it's best to use single shot. It sucks I discovered this over halfway through the game but I do like to mess around with these things in games that let you do this.

All though I did play on emulator and used save states, I don't think the game is as hard as I remember it, the hard parts of the game is getting randomly ambused from behind and getting hit by rocket launcher enemies and not knowing their location before you kill them, it's a decent to at times good game but I still don't think it's amazing. I remember the ending being terrible at the time and time has only gotten me to dislike it even more with how much of a hard on 00s games had for cliffhangers.

So overall, despite my review being incoherent, I do think Black is a pretty good game but I think that is because the different firing options on the assault rifles adds more depth to the shooting, without this, the game is pretty one note and the game consists of being spray and pray and watching enemies die and killing every enemy in sight. I would give it a 6 if I didn't experiment with the AR's firing modes.

I thought this game was going to be amazing at the beginning of the playthrough because the 2nd mission was so much fun but that was the peak of the game in my opinion. The gameplay gets boring towards the 3rd or 4th mission as you just go through hoards of people and move on over and over with not a lot of different gameplay opportunities. The storyline is also confusing and not engaging. It was middle of the road.

Controls are a bit slow.

Very cinematic. After leaving the shower area in the Tivliz Asylum, the sun is setting and lighting up the whole corridor and it looked amazing. The showers are similar to a scene in a CoD game and apparently it's a reference to the Sean Connery movie The Rock.

Looked great since I was playing the Xbox version on the Series X but genuinely felt like a PS3/360 era game on the PS2/Xbox. I had played it years before on PS2 when I was really young. I remember showing Dad it because the graphics were mind-blowing for me but he preferred the look of Call of Duty Big Red One lol.

I enjoyed the filmed cutscenes before every mission as well although the ending is a bit abrupt, you haven't even killed Lennox at that point.

This game is known for it's excellent graphics for it's generation (PS2/Xbox) and playing the original Xbox version on the scaled up compatibility mode on Xbox One X really looks nice for a 15 year old game.

Sadly it hasn't aged that well in other aspects. The story is forgetable and ends with a cliffhanger which never got a resolve. The gameplay is a very simple military shooter which let's you carry two weapons and granades and uses the classic medkit system instead of automatic health regenaration (which is fine). There are no other gameplay elements apart from shooting the enemies and reaching the level's exit. There isn't even a "use" button - to open doors, you have to shoot them with your shotgun. The mission objective system reminds me of Goldeneye 64 the primary objective is always to reach a certain point in the level, while secondary objectives are simply "collect X of that" or "destroy X of that". On easy mode you can focus on just the primary objective, on higher levels you have to complete a certain number of secondary objectives too, to complete the level. What I disliked most about Black are the bullet-sponge enemies. Even on "easy" you often unload half your magazine into enemies befor they go down and the game often won't register your headshots, making fights over large distances a test of your patience. Another negative is the checkpoint system, which let's you sometimes replay more than 20 mins of the level if you are unfortunate enough to die - and 20 mins is a long time for a game that's only 5-6 hours in total.

I can understand that people loved this game when it first came out due to it's excellent tech (sound and music is also great), but from todays standard it really lacks in regard of gameplay, story and variety. It's still worth a playthrough if you get it cheap, but just be aware, that most of the enthusiasm for this title comes from it graphics, not from it's gameplay.

I think the graphics look fine and the frame rate was pretty good for the time, but I was not wowed by the presentation. Since that seems to be where most of the praise towards this game has been directed, let's focus on the bad things: the AI and the controls. The guns can be as good as they want to be, but having been locked into a certain sensitivity and acceleration setting for the aiming stick makes aiming them annoying. It blows my mind that they were able to find the time to let the player rebind every button on the controller and yet somehow forgot about providing options for the AIMING SENSITIVITY in a first-person game. Another sore spot of the game is its enemy AI: often slow to notice you even when you're in plain sight, the AI will fail to flank you or flush you our if you hide away in cover for too long, preferring to just run up to you to give you a free chance to shotgun them in the stomach.
These sound like pretty minor quips, but because all you do in this game is aim and shoot at enemies it's a pretty big deal. I wasn't wowed by the mission or objective design either, but at least there isn't fully-regenerating health (it only regenerates partially) or cover mechanics. I stopped playing after the chore that was the third mission--I don't think there was anything particularly antagonizing about the third mission, I was just losing interest in the bare-bones AI at that point.

- Weapons feel good
- Great sound design
- Nice variety of levels, though very linear
- Frame rate and graphics good for the time, only very occasional frame rate drops.

Cons:
- Bland run of the mill story. Also had live actors but only showed them in the shadows, seems like a waste to me. Could have made much more of the cut scenes.
- No way to change sensitivity (PS2 as far as I could find)
- Enemies are absolute bullet sponges
