Eu Amo/odeio esse Jogo!A Máquina é apelona pra cacete? sim

A cool battle fusion system with its own weird logic and star signs. The game is balanced around fusing to make one card and then grinding power ups for it as all other decent cards are very rare drops or cost a ridiculous amount of currency to buy in the shop using codes found on real printed cards. You can tell this was being made before actual Yu-Gi-Oh! rules were determined, but it's got a fantastic soundtrack and optional 3D battles that look pretty good for the time. Would recommend with a card drop mod to cut down on the grind and maybe use a guide to understand some of the systems.

So the only way I would complete this one was with some cheats in the emulator because the grind is simply too much. Once you have a decent deck you can put up a fight and the game has nice challenge though the IA is not the best, they do miss some opportunities. I liked a lot the story mode, felt like an anime saga from start to end and has the right spirit of the series. The only big problem with this game is the grind, its almost as the devs knew that people would have to spend countless hours on free duel to earn "money" and cards and therefore made an epic theme so people would not get that tired from grinding lol.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Amazing music, and the presentation is quite good. It's always interesting to go back to early Yu-Gi-Oh and see what the creators were experimenting with game wise. This isn't battle simulator type game, but rather in the Duel Monsters line of games. Those games were inspired by the real life game and cards but changed the rules to have a more RPG like progression.
So first off, the most remarkable difference is that you don't need to sacrifice monsters to summon level 5+ ones. And all Monster Cards are Normal type. You can summon any level monster from your hand once per turn. So if you have the level 10 White Eyes Ultimate Dragon with its 4500 attack points in your hand, well then just summon it. And opponents can't really do anything against that strategy except hope to draw a Raigeki or Black Hole(which are unlimited here)
So yeah, strategy wise you can brute force your way through matches IF you have the cards. But getting the strong cards is costly. Blue Eyes White Dragon costs the maximum amount of star chips or whatever the currency is. Therein comes the RPG aspects and the weird rules they implemented concerning "guardian stars". All this to say, don't expect the OCG or TCG fundamentals strategies to apply here save for some fundamentals like drawing your staple card asap is preferable.
So what's the appeal of this game? Well pure fan service to put it simply. If you watched the anime or read the manga when it first started, you will completely appreciate the background this game puts up for the series. It's an adventure of Atem/ Yami during Egyptian times, which is portrayed as a dream Yugi is having. Midway through the game, you are taken to modern times to play in a small card tournament where many characters from the anime make an appearance.
It's not the greatest of story telling or anything, but I can't help but appreciate the effort the game put into its presentation and trying to bring the spirit of the anime into videogame form. In a way that's what all Duel Monsters games try to do, but those haven't been a thing since Reshef of Destruction on GBA.
So is this game good? Kinda, it's playable with little in terms of technical problems and a passable time if you're willing to put up with some of its quirks(or bullshit). If you were a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh anime as a kid, nostalgia will hit you like a truck. If you aren't, there are better games out there, even within Yu-Gi-Oh

Simple, repetitive, grindy and rng heavy card game. Fun until you realize you need specific cards to actually have a chance at winning. Good music though.Updated 3.5 Years Ago

This game....... *sigh*Decided to play this game again since I could never beat it as a kid. The first couple of hours of the game are great. It was so nostalgic, listening to the amazing music and learning the fusions. Then you get to the end game.... Just when I thought Twin Headed Thunder Dragon was enough, nope Black Meteor Dragons, Gate Guardians, Blue Eyes White Ultimate Dragons and more join the party. You have to start grinding for cards. (Looking at you low meadow mage and Jono 2nd) It didn't help that the card drop system was horrible. Plus to get magic, equips and traps cards you have to get a tec win (make the CPU run out of cards) which made the duels go longer than they should. After around 1,100 duels I had enough. The last part of the game you have to do 7 duels in a row without saving. So I resorted to save stating because I didn't want to grind anymore. The CPUs in this game cheat so it's fair right? (The CPUs literally morph their cards to their favor. There is a youtube video about it) In the end it's a mediocre game with good music and some nostalgic value. Would I recommend this game? Absolutely not. 4/10 But the music is really good. *Free Duel Music starts playing*
