Incredible from start to finish. Smart puzzles, constant dread, and striking visuals make it a real standout in horror. Classic Resident Evil fans will especially appreciate it. The dark, tense atmosphere mixed with the ridiculous dialogue gives it a weirdly perfect balance.

Extremely intense, funny, and scary at the same time. Difficult when you choose to punish yourself, and you have to be actually smart thinking about the puzzles, I loved the detail about the mermaid quiz having outdated information. so cool! and i loved how the areas slowly changed over time. The ending was absolutely amazing, and it told such a satisfying and complete story. This combination of game play and narrative seems to be rarer and rarer nowadays, so its incredible to get to experience one of those in my own lifetime- by a small group no less. I hope Tom & Adam continue to make games like this, where neither story nor fun are sacrificed to bring a game to completion.Updated 3.5 Weeks Ago

2106An absolute joy to play. Fantastic puzzle design, gorgeous art style, and a banger soundtrack. There were so many moments where the map and puzzles would work in harmony to put me exactly where I needed to be. The game design was often really clever in this way, and it felt so good. Can see this being super easy for me to recommend to others. However, if the crows that spray poison on you have no haters, I am dead.

A love letter to 3D horror games of the PS1/N64 era like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Crow Country follows Mara as she searches for a missing Mr. Crow at his closed amusement park Crow Country, rumored to have shady and even supernatural things going on.
There's a modern control scheme where you can use analogue controls, or classic tank controls of the era for immersion. There is a distinct lack of fixed camera angles however for total immersion, with you having free control of the camera. But don't worry, as the intentionally obtuse aiming of the era where you have to plant in place and aim will leave even simple enemies feeling tense to take out regardless of your preference. If you die, you will be punted back to your last save in a safe room; but you can optionally turn a lives system on.
The park is split into 3 main sections, Fairytale Town, Haunted Hilltop, and Ocean Kingdom around the central Crow Country. Gameplay will have you solving puzzles within cheap theme park rooms, often going back and forth off hints for what's needed to solve a room elsewhere. All while the grotesque enemies and traps hindering you escalate as you progress. Don't worry about conserving your inventory too much on normal difficulty, when you are very low, trash cans and crates will have what you need. Don't suffer from success by thinking your keen eye finding drops hidden in the overworld will mean you'll never get them again. There are plenty of secrets hidden about for extra goodies like weapon upgrades and powerful magnum rounds.
The graphics and TV filter faithfully recreate the era they were aiming to emulate. Things could feel like Scooby Doo sometimes, with the final plot reveal for the being honestly intriguing and I liked it a lot.
Appreciated quality of life include all notes and hints found being catalogued in every safe zone, and if needed, a crow fortune teller machine you can resort to 10 times for a hint if you're really stuck. There's even a secret map that notes where all 15 secrets are, so ideally, you'll never have to look outside the game for answers (though the guides and cheat sheets people have made feel like looking through a strategy guide all over again). As is tradition for these games, completion gives a rank which unlocks a special item for new game plus, and if you feel like it, finding 42 crow statues scattered about in crow mode. For your sanity, rank is determined by number of healing items used, secrets found, number of hints used, and lives used; so don't think you need to rush or save sparingly despite it keeping track.

I’ve always loved the puzzle and key level design of Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, yet the tank controls always held them back for me. If those old school games were remade with Crow Country’s control scheme, I’d be all over them. It’s shocking how much of an improvement it makes to the game experience when I can focus on playing the game and taking in the vibes instead of… walking into walls. Now it’s time to talk specifically about Crow Country and how it separates itself from Resident Evil.
Crow Country is more cartoony than most horror games. Not just in visuals, but in dialogue as well. The characters usually have something fun or sarcastic to say, lightening the mood. While other games may be goofy unintentionally, Crow Country does it on purpose. It’s fun, and any levity added doesn’t take away from some genuinely creepy moments.
My only complaint with the game is its use of traps. Every time story progression happens, a previously explored room will be filled with traps that you have to dismantle or tip toe around. It’s mildly annoying.
The music is superb with tracks that set mood just as well as those from Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The save room sounds just like you’d want it to.
I enjoyed the story and found the mystery and history to be interesting. It had all my favorite tropes. Mysterious monsters, abandoned theme parks, and a secret underground lab.

Crow Country is a sweet love-letter to classic survival games, especially the original Resident Evil, but I'm unfortunately not as enthusiastic as I wish I would be. The level design, artstyle, puzzles are great, no doubt about it, but the game is undermined by a poor action side that made me regret I didn't play on 'exploration mode' (in which there seems to be no enemies at all). It's not that the mobs really make things harder : they just make the run more tedious than needed, since they are bullet sponges while you have terribly poor aiming options combined to a true lack of save spots. It's obviously kind of an issue in a so-called 'survival' game: mobs don't really play an interesting part, they're not scary, they're not funny, they're just basically moving obstacles. That being said, the game is fun, and by fun I mean : fun. Crow Country is a true tribute game that doesn't take itself too seriously, some dialogues really made laugh (I loved the gap between the dramatic turn of events and the NPC's behaviour), the design uses the theme park concept with just enough fantasy and all in all, it was more enjoyable than anything.

Crow Country is a love letter to retro survival horror done absolutely right. From the moment I stepped into the game’s abandoned theme park setting, I was hooked. The level design is tight and purposeful, with each area oozing personality and smartly crafted tension. It never feels bloated or aimless—just pure, concentrated horror atmosphere. The retro visuals are pitch-perfect, capturing that nostalgic PlayStation-era look without feeling dated or gimmicky. Every character you meet stands out in their own unique way, adding depth and charm to the eerie world. Despite the spooky backdrop, there's something almost cozy about it all—like curling up with a beloved VHS horror movie.
Controls are smooth and responsive, which is especially refreshing for a genre that sometimes leans into clunky mechanics. The story is easy to follow but still manages to pull you in with intrigue and mystery. What truly impressed me was how the game encourages replays—not with artificial padding, but by simply being that good. I rarely feel the urge to replay narrative-driven games, but I finished Crow Country in a single day and immediately wanted to dive back in.
It’s a compact, compelling experience—one that understands exactly what makes survival horror tick. If you're a fan of the genre, or even just in the mood for something atmospheric and satisfying, this is the perfect game to beat over a weekend.

Wow this game nails the gameplay and aesthetics of several PS1 classics. The puzzles are plentiful and very well put together. The story and general tone meshes perfectly with the various set pieces in the game. You can tell a lot of love and care was put in to this project to simultaneously gives that retro feel while modernizing things for convenience.I was a bit disappointed to see that the difficulty is a bit easy, but it's probably better balanced for a general audience as I myself have put many many hours in to the retro survival horror games this is inspired by. Even having a fairly easy time with the game it was still very enjoyable.
If you enjoyed the older Resident Evil or Silent Hill games this definitely something you should check out.

Crow Country is such a treat! It's not a long or challenging game but its an incredibly fun experience. I'm not super familiar with the survival horror genre (I've played RE:2 remake and RE:7 VR) but this game definitely makes me want more. I also love how the story plays out especially when reading all the notes lying around the amusement park... I loved trying to guess what was really going on as the plot unfolded. The characters are a treat (except Marvin... All my homies hate Marvin) and I'm a sucker for the art style. There's is a reason I locked in and played through this game 5-6 times to get all the achievements. This is definitely one of favorite games that I look forward to coming back to. History will remember the plot of Crow Country as superior to any AAA titles to come out that year, and easily better than anything the Resident Evil franchise came up with.Besides that... a clean crisp retro survival horror. Puzzles are close to ideal difficulty level. Short, yet the perfect length given its simplicity.
Combat is disappointingly basic because, presumably, there wasn't enough staff to program more sophisticated AI. Almost all enemies can and should be avoided.

A fun little nod to the under appreciated genre of (true) survival horror. My first blind playthrough I got an A and barely died. The game is laughably easy - so I may replay on a harder difficulty.
It leans HARD into the games that so obviously inspired it. Which is not necessarily a bad thing because the game is so well made and fun to play. I just wish it was a bit harder - the puzzles were pretty easy (except for that train puzzle, I’m still convinced my run was bugged).
Rarely did I ever feel that sense of satisfaction when I figured out where to go or what do (like in RE1) because there is a LOT of handholding in this game.
In the end it was a solid title and fun callback to the masterpieces that came before it. I may replay it at some point if I really have nothing to play.

I really enjoyed the aesthetic and atmosphere. The music and early 3D look really nail that N64/PS1 vibe and enhance the immersion. There's something simultaneously cozy and unsettling about the whole thing. Perhaps it was my own undoing but I was expecting the story to have some bigger reveal in the end. There is a reveal but it's not mind blowing. My main complaint is early on the game throws like 7-8 different puzzles that need to be solve and it can be quite confusing to remember what piece should go where. A slower build up of puzzle pieces would make for a less overwhelming introduction since the game actually gets easier as it goes along and it's not a particularly challenging game to begin with. The characters, aesthetic and atmosphere are very well crafted and if you have any nostalgia for that early 3D era and any love for the survival horror genre, Crow Country is definitely something to check out.Updated 9 Months Ago

another one of my favourite horror games ive played. It grabbed my attention so hard i finished the whole thing in a day. The environments are fantastic. The atmosphere is great. Although it can be quite challenging in murder of crows mode where it's more chaotic, the combat is good and the aiming style is interesting. i really enjoy the monster designs as well, and the explanation at the end of the game for their existence made me feel bad for them.
The music is also amazing, and its some of my favourite music in a video game ever. The slight detuning of the instruments made it feel very nostalgic but still eerie. I think my favourite off the soundtrack and a good example of what i mean is the Fairytale Town theme!
overall VERY solid game :)

A fantastic survival horror that feels like it came straight from the original PlayStation. Developed by two brothers, the game doesn’t aim to be overly ambitious or groundbreaking; it simply plays its cards very well. The adventure in the abandoned amusement park unfolds gradually as you explore its rooms and sections. The puzzles are never too challenging but aren’t immediately obvious either; you’ll often encounter obstacles you’ll only solve later on with the right items.
The story is well-crafted, striking a good balance between answers provided and new questions that keep players intrigued.
True to its '90s roots, it includes endgame bonuses and a rating based on healing items used, lives, and enemies killed.
Highly recommended!

Nice throw backGood
- it captures the 1st gen RE games very well, while making many QoL changes for the controls
- save points where scattered evenly
- dodging enemies was kinda fun
- despite it being horror, there is a certain charm to the game
- a decent variety of enemies
- the visuals are really well done to recreate the ps1 feel
- the environments were diverse
- the puzzles were mostly fun to solve
- the music fit the atmosphere
- the story progression was well done. Kept the mystery and suspense the whole way through.
- the shooting was well designed. No auto aim made it a bit harder to shoot, but the manual aim wasn't too awkward.
Bad
- it is a tad on the easy side
- there isn't much need for item management
- some of the puzzles were dumb. Like the mushroom one.

This was a pretty interesting survival horror game of sorts, as far as indie games are concerned, it's not as good as Tormented Souls and Signalis but still a pretty good game in it's own right. I randomly heard about the game and since it had a console and PC release, I decided to give the game a shot. The best way of describing Crow Country is that it's the original Resident Evil but on a theme park rather than a creepy mansion. There isn't many horror games that I'm aware of that even take place on theme parks so the setting alone is enough to make the game stand out a good deal all though like many of the these recent horror games, there is some Silent Hill inspirations like the monster designs, the fact you have unlimited inventory space and an emphasis on puzzles. The asethetics are much like a PS1 Final Fantasy game particularly FF7.
Good things about Crow Country is the level design and unlike many horror games of it's type pretty much of all the game takes place on the aforementioned theme park, areas of interest, puzzles, and items to collect that might be relevant early game might be more important more so the furthur you go into it. There is a late game puzzle in the theatre that you actually discover early on in the game but can't solve until the final few sections. You can even do many of the sections in a random order, once you get the silver key, you can unlock many of the games optional resources before you even touch a major section of the game. You can do the power generator area and get some secrets and the game doesn't really slowly start to wrap up until you get the Gold Key and you can many of the secrets before then. There is also a lot of shortcuts and a decent amount of routes to get from place to place on the map. Level design is the most impressive part.
The map is pretty useful and is better than Tormented Souls' map at least. For one, on PS5, you can look at the map by pressing the touch pad as opposed to TS where you need to multiple presses just to activate. One thing I didn't like was that trying to find secrets on the map required a second button press on the map screen and I discovered this late game unforunately, but credit where credit is due. I even got most of the secrets by the end of the game too, but I needed a walkthrough for that.
Story is surprisingly engaging, I'm glad it isn't mostly hidden behind notes and the story is surprisingly direct for a horror game, cutscenes give you enough information on what is going on and while I would've liked voice acting, the characters are okay, I wouldn't call this story anything super amazing, I did pay attention to it a lot more than I was going to.
Issues I have with the game is that combat is a little too easy, on the medium "survival horror" difficulty, enemies go down within less than 10 shots, I don't want this kind of combat to be too challenging but I argue games like Tormented Souls did a better job at feeling underpowered but powerful enough that you are barely scraping by since in TS, the player character moves a lot slower and enemies take more shots with melee being a good way to save ammo but also risk getting attack by enemies getting up from the shots you gave them. Enemies in Crow Country including the final boss barely put up much of a geniune fight, the only hard part is aligning the analog stick fast enough and make sure enemies don't come too close since you can't move while shooting, most enemies will go down with a few shots from the pistol and shotgun, I only used weapons like the magnum for fun. Grenades make the already easy combat even easier even if I accidently throw them from time to time.
The biggest threat in Crow Country are going to be the traps since many of them you will not see coming and will happen to hit you out of nowhere a lot of the time. This where the bulk of your healing items and antidotes will be used on more so than the enemies.
I also found the game a little too puzzle heavy, this might and I dislike to use the term here, "subjective" but I'm not big survival horror puzzles and I'm more in it for the level design and the barely scraping by action, this might not be an issue for others, but the biggest challenge of Crow Country really comes from how much patience you are willing to put up with regarding puzzles and getting hit by traps.
Overall, Crow Country is a solid game in a line of well made indie survival horror games. If you already played Tormented Souls and Signalis and are looking for more, Crow Country is worth looking into.

8/10.A different twist to the usual zombie fare. Rather engrossing storyline to keep me curious to unravel the mystery behind it all. Some hassle with the gameplay/combat due to the controls and absolutely bare support for keyboard & mouse controls; and some extent of repetition due to necessary back-tracking and respawning enemies. Enemies themselves are quite forgiving to allow ample wiggle-room to work with the controls.

Super cool vibe, Story that has some obvious twists, but still manages to make the payoff more than worth it. As someone who never played silent hill, this game makes me want to play it. Even things like the clunky shooting, adds to some of the retroness, and horror, as these creatures come at you and you can barely aim, makes for a wonderful experience. The ending is really great, and slowly piecing together what happened with crow, and i could not have predicted that the portal went to the future, that realisation of 2106 being written in blood by the people coming through the portal and becoming monsters made me feel quite horrible. We spent the whole game running around shooting these apparent monsters, but in reality they are just humans trying to escape a disease, one that we also have. The worst part is truly that it ends.Updated 1 Year Ago

A survival horror homage to the olds Resident Evils and Silent Hills, it even has some easter eggs/references to them. The sound effects are ok and I really dig the art of this game with a crt vibe to it. The puzzles are neither to hard nor to simple and thats good. At first the story seems more of the same, but it gets you really curious about things and has some nice twists that they foreshadow along the game, however you spend little time with other characters so I couldn't get much attached to them and like them.
One thing I didn't like is the fact that are papers around the map with tips like, shoot this type of things to disarm it, instead of just letting you try and find out by yourself. But at least you can distinguish those papers from those with lore information by their color, still by brain needs to read everything so I get those "spoilers". I guess its a me problem tho.
Read the note at the end of the game.
