Karakter detaylarına her ara sahnede tekrar hayran oldum. İlk duyurulduğunda kısaca hikayesinden bahsedilmişti. Biraz ilgimi çekmişti fakat JRPG tarzında olduğunu görünce, benlik değil demiştim. Büyük ters köşe yaptılar. 9,5/10 #beat

I've really enjoyed my experience with this game so far. I only wanted to try it out since I knew that my Xbox Game Pass subscription for the PC would be expiring in a matter of days. Althought it was difficult to optimise the game to reduce stuttering and frame rate drops, the story, design, music, acting, and combat were really impressive.

I would prefer to play the game on the PS5 Pro, so I hope to pick it up on sale in the future.

My god, that’s clearly the game of the year for me, and I didn’t expect it!

My only complaints are so tiny you could easily ignore them. The menu is a little unintuitive, and the completely optional jump-and-run segments feel a bit floaty.

The game has amazing visuals, the most enjoyable turn-based battle system I’ve ever seen, and a very good, engaging story. I’m so glad I went into it completely unspoiled. The characters are really enjoyable (love you, Gustave!), and you can easily finish the main story within about 30 hours while still doing quite a few side quests.

If you have any interest in this game, you should really give it a try.

I’m off now to play some of the post-game content.

One of the Best Games I played in a Long Time. The Story ist incredible, characters are well written the soundtrack is amazing and the gameplay is really fun but can’t also be frustrating at times. Gameplay relies heavily on block and dodge mechanics for the fights but this makes the turn based gameplay more entertaining.

Would recommend everyone that has gamepass to at least try it and if it’s to difficult simply change to the story mode. The story is worth it.

I don't think i'll give 100% a lot of time, but I also don't think anything deserve it bettter than this game.
An amazing experience start to finish, both in art direction and gameplay feels.
Visually striking, it avoid the usual issue of UE5 game that tend to feel very similar, using the strength of the engine while still conserving a very strong and remarkable Art Direction. All of this backed up by one of the best OST the gaming industry has eared in the past decade, if not of it's entirety, and the game could already be enough has a striking experience.
But the gameplay itself, while simple, offer depth and engagement like few other turn based game have, with a tactical depth in build and decision that let you experiment and feel the impact of a well thought through build backed up by a dynamic dodge/parry system leaving the player always on edge, even on enemy turn.

And lastly, a story, scenario, and characters that move you along the story, each of them is relatable, beautiful in their flaws and success, each of them navigating the torturous story of grief and depth in differents ways.

A trully masterful success like we've not seen often.

I couldnt get enough of Clair Obscur. I wanted to drink it all up, look under every rock, and while away my time in this game with every dalliance, every challenge, every musical melody. That's special; not wanting to leave. Wishing I could have a bit more of this game. A bit more of each spot of color, or each beautifully alien landscape. Just a bit more of these characters, and what went on with each of them. I wanted to spend another moment joking with Sciel, or ribbing Monoco. Teasing Lune, or just sharing another moment with Maelle. I didnt want to go. But this game made me.

Not to bury the lede too far here, but Clair Obscur is an one-of-a-kind experience. The game is tremendous; a clear 9.5/10. If I didn't give half scores, it may be higher. It does nothing wrong, and only has one or two hiccups that are merely preferential and not hard, objective faults. If you live and breathe then this game is for you. If you ever cared about anything precious in your life, this game is for you. If you ever wondered to what heights a game can marry narrative, character, mechanics, and art...this game is for you.

For the unknown, this is a modern take on turn-based combat, and it's amazing. You'll travel a world that is fantastical in nature, but sits familiarly at home. The action comes with plenty of player input. You will dodge and parry attacks to beats of music, and thundering crashes. As the player you will be astounded by the degree to which you can customize, grow, and frankly shatter the game, but the difficulty is still there for the curious. Get too strong? Make it so you can't make mistakes. Find the game too brutal? The story is good enough and that 'story' setting is right there, and may still give you an inkling of accomplishment. It is amazing.

It's also near and dear and spectacular. One wont need a literary degree to appreciate what's on offer here. And the themes and motif won't alienate, and even offers a degree of player agency in a narrative that seems crafted to a singular degree. It contradicts, and it cultivates an understanding that only those that see it through may grasp. What I mean to say is; this is a human story, despite the chaotic landscape. Each drive, whether from extent threats or internal impulse, is resonant, impactful, and true. It's nearly perfect.

I loved every moment I spent with the game. I believe anyone with a heart and open ears will feel the same way. The game is a triumph on music alone, but you also get a beautiful world and believable, beautiful characters. The voice acting is a treat, and the battles are energetic despite their turn-based nature. If you were waiting for “that one game” to come along, well its here. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 easily clears a 9.5/10. Games like this are why we play at all.

Clair Obscur : Expédition 33 is an incredibly satisfying game in every aspect. The music is fantastic, visually it looks stunning at all times, without even being so demanding you need a high-end PC; and gameplay-wise, there is stuff for everyone. You can plan your strategy ahead, but are not required to rely on it, for dynamic combat commands allow you to deal significant blows to your enemies with enough practice. The story is incredibly pleasant to follow through, with humor traits perfectly sprinkled through your adventure to ensure there's always something great to be around for. Clair Obscur : Expédition 33 has what it takes to be 2025's GOTY. The only dark spot on this game is its endgame, which is much too difficult; which is always an absolute shame for a game that's got what's needed to be perfect.

I had not watched any trailers or gameplay of Expedition 33 before giving it a go. I had no idea I was going to play such an amazing JRPG-inspired game. This is an exceptional, modern turn-based game with amazing graphics.

On the combat, I really like the way you have to make abilities work together and that every character has unique mechanics to think about. Adding the timing system inside the attacks makes me think of Sea of Stars and it feels satisfying. But of course the major twist is the "souls-like" mechanic of dodging and parrying added to this game. It makes fights intense and very rewarding. On the overall game design I like that Expedition 33 went for fewer, but more difficult fights. Lastly I really like the item system in this game's combat, this is also more reminiscent of souls-like games. Potions which refresh at a save point. There is no saving up the best potions/elixirs only to end up never using them.

All major characters are memorable and cutscenes are acted very well. I love that characters sometimes trip over their sentences and actually talk over each other like in real conversations. Voice acting and the usage of music in conversations and cutscenes is also done very well. The story isn't served up on a silver platter and takes time to become clear.

Exploration is rewarding, giving upgrade resources, new pictos or information of previous expeditions. The world itself is also very inviting for exploration.

Currently I am still exploring post-game content and am strongly considering another playthrough at some point.

This is really good and most importantly a good length for a Jrpg style game.

It isn't revolutionary though, it really is just a JRPG in the style of Final Fantasy 9. In fact, it feels like a French version of the FF13 trilogy, but condensed into one game (thankfully).

As someone who primarily plays Japanese games, this has inspired me to go out their and give more western games a shot (which is quite an accomplishment)!

-Platforming in the game while limited is not suited for this game
-Act 3 has some balancing issues
-A bug in the Aiding the enemy preventing me from getting all achievements
Review
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is a beautifully created RPG which builds onto the standard turn based RPG to make for a compelling built system. It does this by including a parry and dodge system with the dodge system acting as an easier move but does not offer a counter attack that the parry does. There are 6 characters overall in the game and each has there own unique set of moves and systems that gel well with each other to make for a series of interesting of combinations. This is done within an interesting and unique world with some different takes on the standard biomes. The only real issue is the balancing issues in the third act and platforming in the game being award but not often. This is a game that I fully recommend for anyone to try.

Man, this game is really special and unique. I ultimately don't think I'll end up ranking it super high on my personal list, but it sure deserves to be. There are so many things that made me go "THIS IS SO RAD". Story premise and hooks, worlds and biomes, music! Incredible highlights. The cast was great and had some good interaction. The game takes some big swings plotwise, but the actual scope and themes are grounded and awesome. Eff everything to do with the Gestrals and Esquie though.

The combat leaves a bit of a strange taste. I like it overall. Parrying is SUPER satisfying. They have plenty of good visual and sound cues sometimes but other times it's trial and error. I wanted to fight everything despite it getting very formulaic and In Media Res breaking the game halfway through. Each characters having their own mechanics was sick, but I didn't really experiment much once I found my thing. It makes for a very repetitive but still fun adventure.

Onto the Post Game!

When it was first released, this game received a ton of fantastic reviews, and it did disappoint. Everything was flawless, including the plot, the graphics, the combat, and the soundtrack. Although Act III's twist was so heartbreaking because it made the world seem so lifeless and gloomy, this game is still a masterpiece nonetheless.

Platinum Achieved – Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 (92 Hours)

After 92 hours, I finally earned the platinum trophy in Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, and I can confidently say this is one of the most unique and captivating games I’ve played in a long time.

From the moment you start a playthrough, it’s clear the developers had a strong creative vision. The world is imaginative, the design choices feel fresh, and nothing feels derivative—a rare feat in 2025. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the voice acting top-tier, and while the story can be a bit confusing at times (especially with side characters and lore), it remains compelling throughout.

The gameplay strikes a great balance: the difficulty is well-tuned and accessible, and the turn-based combat system is a standout. It blends classic Final Fantasy vibes with a splash of Sekiro-like intensity, making every encounter feel meaningful.

I spent my first 40 hours on PC with a 5090 GPU, where the game ran flawlessly. I then switched to PS5 Pro to pursue the platinum and was pleasantly surprised by the performance parity—Performance Mode looked and felt fantastic.

The platinum journey itself was enjoyable, though a bit frustrating due to a few missable trophies—especially since they’re tied to the intro area, which isn’t where you’d typically expect that. Pro tip: make sure to find the Mime and buy the Old Key early on!

Now, let’s talk about Simon. He’s a serious roadblock and will likely be the bane of many platinum hunters. It took me around 7 hours to finally beat him, but with persistence and strategy, he’s beatable.

Final Thoughts
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 is a beautifully crafted, passion-driven game that dares to be original. It’s not perfect—the Pictos system is confusing, the grind to level 99 feels like a time sink, and the platforming adds nothing but frustration—but the overall experience is something special. It’s a game that respects your imagination, even if it doesn’t always respect your time.

What a fantastic game. I have no doubt that I just finished the game of the year 2025. Fluid gameplay, with room for creativity in character development. A memorable ending, like the entire story. It's easy to get involved in each character's story.

Playable on the Steam Deck, but it's recommended to lower the preset to Low for smooth gameplay. I ended up finishing the game twice in a row and still had a hard time saying goodbye. I'll start out with my one complaint: It's too easy to over-level the story bosses if you do side content. Lip syncing could use some work, too, but i'm reaching here. That's about it. Now on to the praise..

It's a masterpiece. Absolute cinema. Revolutionized turn-based combat. Hundreds of build combinations. A story to die for, & game-play second to none. One of the few games I'd never skip a piece of dialogue for, no matter how small. I looked at the world through a magnifying glass, analyzing every detail, taking in the world piece by piece. There wasn't a minute in this game that I wasn't completely enthralled. It captured my attention like no other.

This game is the closest to a perfect 100%, 10/10 out of anything I've ever played. It's a truly a work of art.

Bravo, Sandfall Interactive. This game is nearly flawless.

Perfection.

The story is fantastic. There are multiple big plot twists, especially towards the end. Trust me when I say that you will never guess what the motivations for many characters are when you first enter the game. The story is very touching and can make you wanna drop a tear. All main characters in this game are written exceptionally well and harmonize perfectly. Almost every part of the world and every level is stunning.

Turn-Based Combat sure adds a lot to Clair Obscur: while it can be difficult, it is addictive and rewarding simultaneously.

The greatest thing, however, is the music. Lorien Testard is a legend!!!! The music is what makes this game a 10/10 and playing the Lumiére-Song while in Camp is just great.

This game has to win GOTY!

The game's twist compromises its story; otherwise it's pretty good. The game's combat needs some way to safely learn patterns before you attempt to start parrying, and I'd appreciate it if the numbers were tuned differently so that the game wasn't all about parries.

This was an incredible game that manages to tell a very good and touching story while keeping it's usually boring turnbased combat fresh and interactive. I'm not usually a fan of these types of games and I thought it was going to be a bit different than a FF game but it didn't matter in the end. It does it's own thing and hits on a lot of emotional nerves. there are a few moments that are incredibly well done and has some of the best retrospective WTF moments I've seen in a long time. The game is beautiful, the story is great and the game plays great but where it stands out to me is the music. This is easily top 5 for best music in games. It's incredible and it has everything. Deep and emotional, light and goofy and then some that lean more on the metal type sound. Truly an exceptional piece of art.

When you make a game this good with an immaculate soundtrack, graphics, and writing, it's hard not to get hooked. Easily the best opening/prologue to a game I have ever played.
